I agree there is no law saying you can't hire them.  There is no law saying you need to investigate the status of independant contractors.  Absolutley true.  I have never argued otherwise.  I might argue that there should be, but I do not maintain that there is.  I do smile when you pretend that they might be legal for all you know.

I see. And as “independent contractors” are you reporting their payments on form 1099 NEC as non employee compensation?

No because they work for less than $600 so it’s not a requirement.

- Removal of licenses from media companies -- I don't know much about this, but OK

I'll have a lot to say over the next 4 years, and much of it will be calling out the inevitable hypocrisy that Trump and his voters will ultimately show. Let's get an early start, shall we?

I'll focus on Elon for now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a huge part of turnip's plan to get rid of government employees justified by saying there are too many unelected bureaucrats making policy decisions? So, now he wants to hire an unelected man (who also happens to be the richest human on earth, who arguably is the single person most responsible for getting turnip re-elected, who has conflicts of interest everywhere, a wannabe oligarch with billions of dollars worth of government contracts on the line) to slash and burn government programs and payroll. Decisions that will affect potentially hundreds of thousands of people. Suddenly this is completely fine with Republicans.
