I would think that Musk would turn it more to an actual "news" channel where even the opinion aspects would be fair and reasonable... not one-sided.  I do think even that would be too much for Maddow and the rest.

From the Twitters:

There are no reliable reports at the moment confirming that Elon Musk is considering buying MSNBC from Comcast. While Musk has been involved in numerous media acquisitions and disruptions, including purchasing Twitter (now X), the idea of him buying a major news network like MSNBC has not been substantiated by credible sources.

The potential spin-off of Comcast’s cable networks, including MSNBC, has been discussed, but this is separate from any claims about Musk’s involvement.

MSNBC got big ratings and made a lot of money during the last Trump Presidency. I suspect that will happen this time as well.

I wouldn't be surprised.  The majority of the Democrat party is on the extreme left.

He should be able to acquire MSDNC on the low people are leaving the outlet in droves now/  This time they did more than simply lie, they spent the ensuing days after the election calling everyone racist and other stuff......lashing out like the children they are.

I hope he buys it and turns it into a legitimate news outlet.

I don't think he really has any interest in buying a media outlet.  It would be too time consuming.

Tim and Sqiz are the only people in America who does not realize MSNBC is an extreme left propaganda channel.

He can buy it, and hand it off.....stay out of it except to insist that it not favor a political party.....

Moreover, if he is involved with this governmental efficiency agency, he has to be disconnected.

He should be spending more time with his 12 (one deceased) kids from 3 different women.  Can he just go away? And lose a few LB's. Maybe learn to dance like a normal person.

This is why I don't think he would do it.  Because it's too time consuming, he couldn't just jump in and do what needs to be done.  As you said, he'd have to hand it off and would have to be disconnected, which I don't think that would be how he wants things.

Aren't they even the ones that like to post those "Media Bias" charts all the time to show us that Fox News is far right?  Those same charts show MSNBC as far left.

It has a liberal progressive point-of-view but not extreme left and certainly not propaganda (as evidenced by their negative reaction to Biden's debate debacle).

He bought Twitter, spent a lot of time on it for 6 months, then handed it off.  He could do similar here.

Sure, but that's because he had the time.  A media outlet as big as MSNBC (or even Comcast - if he bought the whole thing), would take a lot more hands on work... I would think.  He really would only have like what, 2 months?  Doesn't seem like enough time.  Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think he would have to devote nearly as much time to this as he did Twitter.  Twitter had technical roadblocks designed to allow discrimination of people and viewpoints that he wanted to understand and modify/remove.  He was literally going through their code for months.  That wouldn't be the case with a traditional media outlet who's main flaw is it's ideology.  Replace the top people with actual journalists and give them the mandate to clean house and transform the place in to a respectable media outlet.

But see this is why you guys keep missing the point here.

MSNBC is definitely liberal. Whether it’s “far-left” depends on your point of view, though I would argue that if you think it’s extreme left you’re probably extreme right.

But that doesn’t matter. The point is, just like between 2017-2020, it’s going to serve as the main news venue for people who don’t like what Trump is up to, which means half the nation. It will serve the same role that Fox News served during the Biden years. Thats why its ratings are about to soar. If you tried to do away with it something else would come along to fill the vacuum.

Meanwhile Fox is going to become the voice of the new administration. It won’t be on the attack any longer, instead it will become the excuse maker. Its ratings will likely go down.

Deep down MSNBC and CNN execs might be happy Trump won to boost sagging ratings.

Another show is Jimmy Kimmel.   Jimmy is all Trump all the time.  Every monologue since the election has been all Trump, Trumps wife, Trumps kids.  Jimmy used to be funny but in his obsession with Trump he comes off as a little ball of hate not even trying to be funny.  Last night it was like watching CNN, not a late night so called entertainment show.

I saw an interview with Johnny Carson and he said the key is "Make a light hearted joke about the president, then move on"

Kimmel locks in for 10 straight minutes and looks so full of hate that he can`t do that.  Then that fires up the radical left wingers and makes them full of anger and possible violence.

I don’t watch Kimmel. If there is an audience for what he’s doing he will continue to do well. I doubt it will cause violence.
