Not sure how they feel about the constitution, but regardless of their words, their actions indicate they do not like the people of this nation.

I am fine with them using the legal system as a weapon for now, its the primary tool in their box, so they of course will use it.  But I have hope that we the people will prevail and win over liberalism.

Now, you should be going after something else, not this, and I am honestly surprised. I expected you to be more on top of things.

I suggest you not get too far ahead of yourself.   If you consider all that has been previously done...and the legal abuses....the misuse of congress.....   I would not be inclined to presume that liberals are at all done with corrupt behaviors.

The ruthlessness with which they conducted their campaign to ruin Trump is not simple going to subside.....no sir....these people are evil.....they will pursue him even harder now.

We can agree to disagree, but when the impacts harm people, I accept the intent was to harm people; notably when their actions are do evidently stupid.  It has to be on purpose at this point.

The concept of birthright citizenship in the United States is derived from the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Specifically, Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment states:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

This clause, known as the Citizenship Clause, was interpreted by the Supreme Court in the case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898) to mean that children born to legal or illegal immigrants in the U.S. are automatically U.S. citizens if they are born on U.S. soil and are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. This has been the basis for birthright citizenship in American law.

You didn’t answer the question. @RLLD stated that by removing birthright citizenship, President Trump is trying to make things better for the American people. He also stated that liberals fighting to retain birthright citizenship are doing so because they want the American people to suffer. I would like an explanation of both assertions.

Birthright citizenship has been used by illegals, they come here and have a baby thinking that now that they had a kid who is a citizen no one would date deport them.  They abuse our generosity, and in the process remain in their illegal status.   Are they paying taxes?   Hmmmm, I wonder......

Yes I understand you think that the system is abused. I still don’t understand how removing it benefits us. And yes of course they pay taxes. They would pay a lot more taxes if the parents were given legal status. Isn’t that the better solution?

There are reasons people emigrate here in droves.   

This nation is the greatest in all of history.  While liberals want to pretend is not, there is simply no truth to that inane notion.   Our generosity is represented in a variety of ways.

The people coming here know we are generous, and risk everything to come here because they know.....well, the knew when Biden was President.....they would be allowed in no questions asked, and we have thinks like the birthright element that inspires them.

We can remain generous....and awesome....and remove the enticements which people leverage to take advantage of our generosity.

It gets interesting.  The 14th amendment was a move to protect slaves after emancipation.  As with any good intention, sometimes the outcomes are unexpected.

You will always have people who want to exploit.  There are many of them.  It has not simply been our neighbors to the south who have abused our kindness and laws, The Chinese astutely realized they could create citizens, then bring them home for indoctrination.....anyone venture a guess how they might then use those people?

This is wrong. The outcome of children of immigrants becoming citizens was NOT unexpected. It was actually debated prior to the passage of the 14th Amendment and determined to be a desirable outcome. This included children born here of people who came here without papers across our borders- at that time the borders were pretty much wide open. 
 

Most legal scholars, both conservative and liberal, believe the Supreme Court will slap down Trump on this. It may even be a unanimous decision. Birthright citizenship is here to stay unless you change the Constitution.

Now, setting that aside. There are those who understand that they can use this as a tool to avoid deportation, and have done so, and also noted the way the Chinese were using it.

There will be legal challenges, as there should be.  I am hopeful we can find a result that benefits Americans, not illegal immigrants.  In the end, they can still deport the parents, of course liberals will then try to use the optics....as they love to do. Look as I already wrote, your first paragraph is wrong. The amendment was primarily a response to slavery and Dred Scott, but immigration was discussed at the time. And this was confirmed by the Supreme Court shortly thereafter:

As an aside in your last paragraph you wrote “I am hopeful we can find a result that benefits Americans, not illegal immigrants.” We already have that result. Birthright citizenship is a benefit to all here. Also, despite their lack of papers, IMO undocumented immigrants are every bit as American as anyone else, perhaps more so, as many of them risked their lives and freedoms coming here. How many of us can say that?!
