Having grown up on and around farms, I know way more than you ever will about the subject. But I guess someone that occasionally drinks milk and listened to his sociopathic dad spin yarns from the old country qualifies as an expert in your MAGA addled mind. It has been 35 years since I worked in Minnesota so I do not keep up on the laws, but as a law clerk one of the first cases i addressed was one of one farmer shooting two dogs from a neighboring farm who constantly got out and chased his dairy cows. At the time, in Minnesota it was legal to shoot dogs "worrying" livestock. "Worrying" they called it. I imagine it still is. I know that even in the 60's and 70's our investment in a good producing dairy cow could be upwards of $10,000. You don't let some mutt chase the milk right out of her. Animals viewed through a Disney lense by City folks get far less deferrence on farms and ranches. The metric of concern and respect is judged fianancially and that is about it.

The cats better be catching rodents and the dogs better be good at herding, intimidation, or pest murder. Animals aren't freeloading on a farm. Damn glad I was exposed to that at a young age so I don't get all squeamish when I see poop/piss/blood/entrails. I know what it's like to pull a breached calf in subzero weather, can appreciate eating animals/ parts of animals that most won't touch (rabbit, cow tongue-YUM! Pig brain, bull nuts- notsomuch) and understand that Bessy, errr- ear tag 841, ain't a pet and will be coming to a poor, but hopefully profitable (or at least tasty), end. I remember at four I was in the milking barn with Granda. A cat started rubbing against the leg of the cow being milked. The cow stepped on the cat breaking its back up not killing the cat. Grandpa looked at me and said grab that shovel and take care of the cat. I gently scooped the cat onto the shovel to carry it to wherever we were going to take care of it. My Graandpa said no, grabbed the shovel tossing the cat to the floor and used the shovel to "take care of it" by decapitating the cat, scooping it back up, handing it to me, and telling me to toss it out back. I cried. I learned.

SaintsInDome2006 923 Posted yesterday at 05:48 AM Prosecutors stunned as ICE lets suspect in $100m jewelry heist leave US ~~~ Jeson Nelon Presilla Flores, charged with stalking armored truck in 2022, allowed to self-deport to South America >>> Federal immigration authorities allowed a suspect in a $100m jewelry heist believed to be the largest in US history to deport himself to South America in December, a move that stunned and upset prosecutors who were planning to try the case and send him to prison. Jeson Nelon Presilla Flores was one of seven people charged last year with stalking an armored truck to a rural freeway rest stop north of Los Angeles and stealing millions worth of diamonds, emeralds, gold, rubies and designer watches in 2022. convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit theft from interstate and foreign shipment and theft from interstate and foreign shipment. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)deported Flores in late December after he requested voluntary departure, prosecutors said in court filings. …. Flores opted for deportation to Chile during a 16 December immigration hearing, according to court documents. The judge denied his voluntary departure application but issued a final order of removal, and he was sent to Ecuador. “Prosecutors are supposed to allow the civil immigration process to play out independently while criminal charges are pending,” federal prosecutors wrote in their motion opposing the case dismissal. “That is exactly what they did in this case – unwittingly to defendant’s benefit in that he will now avoid trial, and any potential conviction and sentence, unless and until he returns to the United States.” What happened to Flores is extremely unusual, especially in a case of this significance, former federal prosecutor Laurie Levenson said. Ordinarily, if a criminal defendant had immigration proceedings against them – which is common – immigration officials would inform prosecutors what was happening. In minor cases, a defendant can sometimes choose to self-deport in lieu of prosecution. “It’s just beyond me how they would deport him without the prosecutors … being in on the conversation,” Levenson said. “This really was the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing.” The jewelers who were stolen from are also demanding answers. “When a defendant in a major federal theft case leaves the country before trial, victims are left without answers, without a verdict, and without closure,” Jerry Kroll, an attorney for some of the jewelry companies, told the Los Angeles Times. The infamous jewelry heist unfolded in July 2022 after the suspects scouted the Brinks truck leaving an international jewelry show near San Francisco with dozens of bags of jewels, according to the indictment. While the victims reported more than $100m in losses, Brink’s said the stolen items were worth less than $10m. … <<<
