It is funny to me that I seem to have made more enemies in the forum on this issue (trans) than any other, because in truth I don’t care much about it. It’s mildly interesting to me but it’s certainly not a core conviction of mine nor is it IMO an issue that is of vital concern to the USA. If it turns out that you are correct that it’s a mental disease and all of the world’s health experts change their position it wouldn’t change my life in the slightest.

My cousin is gay, been with her partner for years but never mentions it, or does outlandish acts in public to show she is gay.

Not all LGBTQ folks "just blend in" or are allowed to and discrimination in the year 2025 is still a very real thing for many.

And most, I think, would say that it is part of their identity and not a separate identity, just like skin color is considered part of their identity by many Blacks and Latinos.

I get why you regret voting for Trump since you have zero in common with him and by all appearances, your natural home is aligned 100% with the Democrats.
