So it’s not one person causing a trade war after all?

Do you not understand that if Trump never started with the tariffs then China wouldn't retaliate?

I know someone who has a $60K 401K, & he & his wife had to take money out to put their daughter into the 1st year of LSU. There’s a lot of that in this country, they certainly didn’t deserve President Toonces.

I would greatly prefer President Toonces to the current one. Hell, at least Toonces was quiet and could drive.

If China didn't have unfair tariffs on us, Trump never would have done anything.

In 2022 - Stock Markets were down 19% for the full year. Nasdaq was down a whopping 33% for the year.S&P was down 20%. We all lost 22% of our buying power due to inflation since 2021 caused by Biden’s policies which resulted in +3% inflation for 38 straight months - the longest period since the 80s.

Their daughter should have went to community college. LSU was a poor decision. The other poor decision were them only having 60k in their retirement accounts but I’m sure that’s Trumps fault too.

Shhh....Don't ever talk about other countries having higher tariffs on us than we have on them. Liberals don't care about that. They never even were aware of it.

 100% truth.

Why did they even have a kid if they are broke? That aside. Have the kid get her base courses at a community college. While she works to help pay for the tuition.

Sounds to me like the parents feel guilty of being terrible parents.

Over the year. After a pandemic, & the market crashed in March 2020.

At the end of Biden, every economic indicator was the best in the world.

This is 1 week, and is solely caused by the whims & - I do mean whim, because every economic analysis views this policy as poison - and fiat of one person.

China retaliated again, ups our tariff to 84%.

This is a joke.

This is going to hurt farmers a lot. Last time, they issues bailouts to farmers. If they do it again any "revenue" from tariffs(using revenue very loosely), may go right back out the door.

never seen so many patriots hoping for failure or is this just reaffirming your dislike of Trump.?  6 days in on tariffs.  Doomsday.

Now if Biden would have done this?   Hurrah!   sides and all.  I understand.

If Biden had done this it would've been idiotic as well.

I'd imagine though many MAGA mooks here would've been losing their sh!t as well

104% tax on all items imported from China. 84% tax on all items imported to China.
We’re talking about 500 billion dollars of trade a year between our two countries.

Short term interest rates are spiking as investors are dumping their treasury bonds. Now nearly every economist is predicting a recession, whereas nobody predicted one a month ago. Oil prices are going down, but that’s hardly a good sign: it means recession.

People love China and their slave labor. TDS can really warp a mind.

50 years ago the left fought the closure of American factories and outsourcing of union blue collar labor and today they’re making AI videos portraying those same workers as fat undignified retards who should be letting third world brown slaves do those jobs instead.

I hate you.

All I see is pissing and moaning.  Has anyone ever come up with a better plan?  What were the Democrats going to do better?

Doing nothing was not doing any good.  That's no longer acceptable.  Dems have no plan, that's why they lost.  That's why people like me decided to put our disdain for Trump aside and vote for him.

What about Trump's plan is working well so far?

The economy was fine 6 months ago....not great, but fine. We had staved off a recession coming off a global pandemic. Inflation was still higher than you would want but coming down to norms.

He has taken action which no one has been willing to do.  Time will tell if it benefits us or not.  This not meant to be a quick fix.  I see this as a turning point for our futures.

What we were doing wasn't working.  No one was doing anything to change it.  Remember that.

Trade deficits.  China taking advantage of us.  Astronomical debt.  Corporations continuing to leave the US.

What we were doing wasn't working, you mean the strongest economy in the world, low unemployment, best COVID recovery of any country.

And this is why I just roll my eyes at you.  You ignore how good things were going and voted for Trump---and it wasn't overcoming your disdain, it's because he had an (R), that's it.

Or...you could listen to all the evidence that points out why this was a terrible idea from the jump and just not do it.

You could have also done some of this without just throwing a few boxes of C4 into the economy. But hey- who cares if things were going fine 6 months ago, We got President Trump yelling pew pew as he fires finger guns into the air

I disagree.  Our debt was continuing to climb.  Our country has been moving further and further to the left culturally.  I'm tired of the woke culture.  I'm tired of the overspending.  I'm tired of seeing companies move out of the country.

I think people have had a false sense of security.
