kilroy69 1,215 Posted April 5 Yea yea, Rats ass. Most of you are not going to care so move on. However, for the ones of you that have kids. The movie was pretty damn good. Do not get me wrong. It is not The Usual Suspects or Citizen Cane but here is the thing. I judge movies like this by the amount of time I spent legit laughing as an adult. Usually a movie like this gets maybe one or 2 laughs tops. I found myself laughing all the way through. Jason Mamoa and Jack black are the comedy duo I want to see more of. They are literally made for each other.
Tree of Knowledge 1,689 Posted April 5 Can you place it on the Lego Movie Scale for those of us with kids? Better than Lego Movie and/or Lego Batman?

Lets say lego was a 10. This would be a solid 8 for it being a lot of cgi because it was live action. I am not a big minecraft fan and I still liked it. When the entire theater claps at the end like it was a play you know it hit the mark.
patweisers44 815 Posted April 7 I dont know or get the whole minecraft thing so i probably missed some of the jokes/premise. But my 6 year old granddaughter and 12 year old grandson both loved it and i didnt hate it. I am not a movie guy so thats a glowing endorsement from me. I figured it would be terrible. We still want to see it though.

They made 300 million on a 150 million dollar budget. By next week it will be considered a success and on its way to probably 1.2 billion by the time is stops showing. It was just better than expected.

It was pretty decent I must say. they also did a reasonable job of doing it in a way that people who dont minecraft will understand it. while its not the best I've ever seen its pretty good. definitely worth a watch.

The youngest liked the movie, my nephew and the 12 year old thought it was horrible.
TheNewGirl 1,339 Posted April 7 We went to the movies Friday night to see something else and I couldn't believe the number of kids there to see Minecraft. It made it kind of feel like the good ol' days when movie theaters were always packed.

This is the first movie I personally have tried to get a ticket to only to find it was sold out since Independence Day in
MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted April 7 I took my kids to see the movie this weekend. We liked it, but I play Minecraft with my kids and we're the target audience.

This about sums it up. My kids loved it, I thought it was decent. Laughed a few times but overall it was kinda weird (I don’t play the game know some of the stuff). As far as kids movies based on video games I’d put the Mario movie an easy #1, with the Sonic franchise slightly ahead of Minecraft.
Hardcore troubadour 14,903 Posted April 13 Kids saw it last week, took them earlier today to see King Of Kings. It was pretty good. Decent size crowd. I’m just glad a tranny didn’t shoot the place up. I was prepared.

Yeah, me too.
Frozenbeernuts 2,112 Posted April 14 Saw it this weekend. It was decent. It made me laugh a few times. Still can see the woke stuff in there, but it's not nearly as bad as some movies. My 6 year old loved it.
