The music is playing and the left marches off the political cliff backing a guy who at the most generous outcome is an illegal alien who beat up his wife.  Yet you think Trump is the one with egg on his face.

As noted earlier we are backing the concept of due process in the Constitution, not Abrego Garcia, per se. I would imagine that most Americans understand the real issues involved in this case. And it should be noted that police never charged Abrego Garcia with domestic violence.

If so, were you this upset when the Obama Administration killed Anwar al-Awlaki?  Personally I was not.  Sometimes you have to get rid of bad people.  I tip my hat to Obama for doing what should have been done and needed to be done.  So let's just be consistent.

Also, the guy beat his wife up.  She wouldn't even deny it on the fluff interview.  We all know he's a trashbag of a human.  It's why you're losing the PR battle on this and Trump wants this issue.  Yet you think the public understands what you're deeming the "real issues" better than Trump, the one who so many call an idiot yet is wealthy and won two elections.  The majority don't want this guy here and frankly are fine whether he's in jail or some third world country.

I believe I spoke out against it on the PSF, since he was a US citizen. It was a gray area since he had joined a terrorist organization that was plotting attacks against the US IIRC.

We don't deny anyone the right due process in this country under the Constitution just because they are a bad person. The concept is, that if Trump is allowed to do that against Garcia then he would have the right to arrest anyone, citizen or non-citizen and throw them in a foreign prison with no charges brought against them or any justification ever given by the government.

I am amazed that Conservatives and Republcans support what was done to Garcia because the ends justify the means (even though they are un-constitutional).

Don't forget that Obama then ended up drone-striking Al-Awlaki's 16 year old son too, also a US citizen. Anyone remember Squiztard complaining about due process back then?

You won't find it because he didn't.

"Yes, Anwar al-Awlaki's 16-year-old son, Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, was killed in a separate drone strike in Yemen two weeks after his father. Abdulrahman, also an American citizen, was killed in a strike that the U.S. government claimed was not directed at him, but rather at another al-Qaeda operative. The National Security Archive reports that Abdulrahman was killed in a separate strike two weeks after his father. "

I didn’t know it was after his father got blown up. So Obama is a war criminal, which means no president in the future will be charged with war crimes either.

Biden was such a POS he tired to use a set aside for our troops to pay off student loans. Also defies the Supreme Court.  Spending is required to be approved by Congress.  It’s right there in the constitution.

Well it’s the only explanation for why none of the other 6 co-conspirators are being charged, including the one that they claim was involved in 50 deaths.

I'll have to go back and reread the indictment, but my memory is that the 50 deaths occured in Mexico so not really something I expect the Feds to charge here.

I will say this, I read the indictment and i was expecting much more given the sales job Bondi was doing on the indictment.  The indictment seemed weak to me.

Trump says a lot of things for effect that aren't literal.  I supported Trump but I don't take everything he says literally so I don't feel lied to, if anyone does they need to quit taking politicians literally.  Barack Obama told Americans if they liked their doctor they could keep him, I knew better than that as well.  I admitted at the time, Trump could use his relationship with Bukele to return Garcia.  That was obvious.  It's also clear that if it weren't for that relationship, El Salvador would have no responsibility to return their citizen to the US.  Both things can be, and were true at the same time.

Now, more importantly what do you think caused Trump to bring him back yesterday?  Was it that suddenly the weight of the court and pressure were too much for him just on that day?  Or is it more likely he has been told of the evidence against Garcia and wants this to be in the news cycle to gain political advantage?  I think given his track record it's pretty clear.

You can say this issue is a loss for Trump if you want, but IMO this issue is a loser for Democrats.  Trump is dictating the terms and the timing for when this is occurring, you should ask yourself if this is a loser, why is he doing it?  Trump obviously believes it because every action he's taken is keeping this in the forefront of the news cycle.  Even pundits for the left are warning this isn't good for them.

Well maybe you didn't believe Trump's lies about how he couldn't bring him back but many people did.  Many people repeated the lie here.

Anyway, yes it's a loser for Trump.  His admin already admitted it was a mistake, then they backpedalled on that.  They spent weeks trying to say he's a wife beater, human trafficker, ms13, etc but the order still stood to return him.  They tried stalling but ran out of time.  So they had to bring him back but it looks like they drummed up some charges to save face.  We'll see what happens during trial.

I don't see how this being in the news cycle is bad for Democrats.  All Democrats wanted was due process and they are getting it.  That's a win.

Remember when the Democrats complained about Biden not providing due process for all the illegals he deported?  No?  Me either.  Weird.

It's what they do with everything.  The first tariff taco what did they say?  Art of the deal.  All the court losses?  Deep state.  Everything is about supporting dear leader while wearing their trump was right about everything hats.

You’re just stating the obvious.  Of course they were “fine with kicking him out of the country.”   Although as I said repeatedly in this thread, they didn’t just “kick him out of the country,” they put him in prison in El Salvador.

Which to that point was another common argument here: that “we” didn’t put him in prison, El Salvador did.  Easily getting him back proves it was us who put him in prison in El Salvador.

Which is where he belonged. But since the administration was told they had to bring him back, they did. Then filed charges against him and will prosecute him.

The difference being, now the taxpayers are going to foot the bill for his incarceration when he shouldn't be here in the first place.

And I'm sure the dopes that were clamoring for his return thought that he would simply go back to being a "Maryland dad", free to walk the streets and commit more crimes.

He's a POS. Fock him.

That's for authorities in his home country to decide, not you.

Im sure if he were a model citizen in El Salvador, prior to coming here illegally, he wouldn't have been in prison in El Salvador. He just would've been in El Salvador.

Either way, he wouldn’t be here where he doesn't belong.

He was sent to the el sal prison by trump, not by El sal.  He was never charged with a crime in either country.  You need to get your facts straight.

You think Trump has the authority to send foreign nationals to prison in their countries of origin?

No but he did it anyway.  He's claiming the authority under the alien enemies act.

Wait you didn't know this?  Oof.

Trump sent 238 people from the US to CECOT prison in El Salvador.  It's was a big deal.  You should read up on it.

So how'd that conversation go?

Trump: "Hey bro, I have this guy, he's never done anything wrong except crossing our border illegally. He's just a regular Maryland dad. I want to send him back to El Salvador and I want you to put him in Super Max."
