It was a more trusting internet back in the day. His mom's Instagram page is still up but since I am not a member, I cannot poke around to see when she last posted there or who she follows or who follows her. Also the link to her website doesn't work, as I'd said previously. I found what looks like personal info like what I am pretty sure is his phone number and address but I felt like a creep/stalker and didn't pursue it. Its disturbing that I could get it with just his name, hometown and a general guess of his age, a little bit older than me. I was just looking for any news stories involving him or if he'd died or something and found nothing interesting.
