TheNewGirl 1,415 Posted Tuesday at 07:07 PM What are your favorite subs? NON POLITCAL, please I find myself reading - Am I the Azzhole? (AITA, AITAH) there are some good ones on there. And then just random ones about books, psychiatry, TV shows, etc.
Mike Honcho 5,220 Posted Tuesday at 07:12 PM I regularly read Battlebots and Gold Rush ones after a new show. I'm subscribed to some for my work too(editing, motion graphics), but don't read them too much. There are better places to get information regarding my field. The only other one that I find myself going back to over and over again is one about the Zodiac killer. Have spent more than a few hours there. I possibly may have spent sometime on the Making a Murderer page too.
WhiteWonder 2,702 Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM nah of course I have read plenty of stuff on reddit after a google search. But I dont have a reddit account or even follow any specific sub reddits.
posty 2,650 Posted Tuesday at 07:23 PM I don’t have an account and since WPD sub-reddit was removed, I don’t go there unless a search takes me there…

If I don't get the results I want from a Google search, I'll add "reddit" to the end of the search phrase to hone in on those. This is usually for how-to stuff, product reviews, etc. Never political crap.

GobbleDog 988 Posted Tuesday at 10:09 PM Reddit doesn't tolerate much. Had to start a new account last year after getting a few warnings from some rough jokes. Then I posted in some news headline ... can't remember exactly - something about an extremist nut who was calling for gays to be exterminated. "I don't agree... but I don't disagree either." BANNED Ok, bad joke. But banned for simply not agreeing with the side I was supposed to? Jeesh. I no longer visit news headlines. Can't help myself from making stupid comments. Oh yeah, they've made a pretty strong pro-LGBTQ+ stance.

Strike 5,327 Posted Tuesday at 11:07 PM On a more serious note, I don't have an account there but if it comes up in a Google search I am willing to read threads about a topic I'm reaearching. Much like the MSM I can use critical thinking skills to wade through the garbage and find the useful information. It's also been a good source of links to PPV sporting events I want to watch but not pay for.

Drizzay 709 Posted Tuesday at 11:47 PM If you are looking for information on a specific product or DIY task, it is a great resource. I just don't go to the main page anymore. The quality went downhill fast. 90% of the most popular subs are moderated by the same 5 people, and they all have an agenda. The political subs are absolute cesspools. And the amount of good posts that people rip off and pass as their own for "upvotes" is just stupid. After a while, it is the same old regurgitated drivel.
