**Round Seven-Ten Commentary**

Recommended Posts

Well, I had 2 WR's in mind for the 6/7 turn.  One of them was Calvin Ridley who played better last year once the other WR in town was gone. He also gets a theoretical QB upgrade this season and was a 1000/8 (WR 17) in 2023 with average QB play.

then.... I scrapped my original plan and decided to swing for the fences with Travis Hunter.  Admittedly, this is not a pick I would probably make in a PPR format, but Jacksonville lost a lot of passing game weapons and I don't need Hunter to catch 80 balls. Just be used creatively and score touchdowns.

Certainly, Hunter is one of the most intriguing possibilities with respect to this draft and every draft this summer. I think taking him here makes sense, particularly with this being non-PPR, like you said. I am curious if anyone else had considered picking him sooner than this.

Was not.....and never will be for me, just my opinion. I see where Jac could slowly turn him just into a CB with minimal offensive snaps. Certainly I could be wrong, I just wouldn't want to take on the risk, glad some will tho.

I guess my hope is that, with the weapons they lost… and with the decline of some others, there isn’t much behind Thomas. If they make him a mostly full time offensive player with a handful of defensive packages and find creative ways to get the ball in his hands, he has game changing athleticism. 8-10 TDs does not seem impossible.

Just like when I grabbed Hockenson, I am grabbing Mahomes before there is a run on QBs.

I will continue the run you started…

The QB run has started.

Almost took Mayfield @ 6.06. He’s got great weapons and the game has really slowed down for him. Happy he lasted as long as he did.

Very good chance that's who I would have taken after you 😂

Oh well, I'm happy with Javonte Williams in Dallas

Hard to believe that Dallas didn't add another RB to the team in free agency. Dobbins would have been a good fit.

Andrews started off slowly last year. Let's see if he can bounce back. One of the last TEs that has a decent chance to be a difference maker.

Nice pick Dan.  Godwin was my original choice for my Wr/Wr turn before i decided to go the Hunter route.

Thanks.

Not a need, per se, but I love the value.

I thought about going TE, but I figured Robb would start taking it personally

Was hoping to snag Godwin as another dropping value proposition, but alas...sniped!

I think Tracy is currently being undervalued, thought not without good reason.  My main concern for him this year will be someone else on that team sniping his goal line opportunities.

Regarding, Jonnu....just felt that if I waited to the next turn the drop in value was dramatic enough to justify grabbing the best available this time around.

Considered Jonnu, but he's holding out, he could be traded, there's just way too much uncertainty there IMHO. Even if he does stay, there's no guarantee he can repeat if Waddle and Hill stay healthy.

Happy with Goff as my QB. Doesn't have the rushing ability others do, but he's a perfect fit for that offense, with lots of weapons around him.

Really wanted Jaylen Warren here, but Robb beat me to that. Like Odunze to make a big step forward in his sophomore season.

They signed Miles Sanders but not sure if he has much left in the tank

He was the other option I was really thinking about at 7.03, but I just wasn't sure if he could keep up the pace, and I didn't want to risk Worthy not making it back.

I thought you got Worthy at a spot of tremendous value. Can’t believe he fell that far.

My picks at the turn hitting at 5pm every day has become tiresome. Sitting here staring at the mower.

obviously it's been the same for me, which I am okay with... I like feeling like I can take my time with picks with the "clock' being off so to speak. Although if Friday holds true to form I won't be picking tomorrow evening.

Oof. That Jayden Reed pick just sniped me hard.

I’ll need a bit

I need to hear everyone’s opinion on him. Dude is ranked in the 50’s but he just kept sliding.

They drafted a round 1 rookie and it’s more of a spread the ball offense but I love his TD potential in this format.

He was on my list for my next pick. But he fell off hard last half of the year, and GB just seems like a situation where it'd be better to gamble on the third WR late than take the first one early.

Rich (ICE) not a guy who disappears in this draft. Getting a bit concerned, but we’ll give him another half hour or so.

Sorry about that guys. This one is on me. I've been out of work for 6 months (with 3 kids in college starting in August!!!) and a potential employer called me unexpectedly this morning.

Can't fault you taking advantage of that opportunity, ICE. Just glad you're all right.
