I think almost every single government is like this. They don't like their citizens at all. The thing with Israel is that we have sent them far more money that anyone else. AIPAC makes sure Israel's influence never falters.

Their religion is wrong. They believe they can swing a chicken over their head and fool God into thinking it's the animal's sin. Part of why Jesus was killed was because he put a dent in the animal sacrifice business that was raking in cash.

The US governmemt was just as bad as any until Trump took office. I want to see the majority of our politicians along side Israel's, Iran's, Ukraine's etc. The entire system has been developed to bleed us dry of our energy and then convince most people they are hopelessly in debt to the system. Israel plays this game really well. Look at who owns the banks.

1. I strongly doubt @Frozenbeernuts has read the Talmud. What he has no doubt read is anti-Semitic descriptions of the Talmud that misrepresent both language and meaning. These are typically a few centuries old and unfortunately they pervade the internet. 
 

2. The part about Jesus and the chickens also comes directly from anti-Semitic literature. 
 

3. “Who owns the banks?” is of course as old as any hatred of Jews. FTR though of course it shouldn’t matter: there has never been a time when the majority of world banking was owned by Jewish families, and today it’s almost 100% corporate. 

These are the sort of telltale signs that allow the reader to distinguish between legitimate criticism of Israel (which I partake in plenty myself) and anti-Semitic nonsense. The writer of the above post indulges strongly in the former, as do a few others in this forum.

The only point made about Israel in this sidetrack is that we've given them too much money.  That's a fair objection, but three comments.  One, in economics that would be called a "sunk cost."  The question is:  does it make sense to marginally help them to eliminate Iran's nuclear capabilities.  IMO the answer is an indisputable Yes.  It doesn't matter how much we've given in the past.  Two, the other comments are just anti-Jew.  Waving chickens?  Cmon now...

Three, a lot of that money comes back in the form of Israel buying US military equipment.  Not terribly important, but I thought I'd mention it.
