"No Kings" Day 2.0. Revised estimate 5.5 million, with an upper bound of 8.7 million.

Recommended Posts

There were about 2700 different rallies planned across the US on Saturday. Obviously some in big cities and some in smaller towns (the next town over had one and in the specific area there are 3000 people with another 10-12,000 in the various surrounding towns that comprise the district). If there were 2700 rallies that means each one would need just shy of 2600 participants in order to reach 7 million. Now obviously the smaller towns probably weren't pulling 2600 but I'd imagine the larger cities were pulling in well in excess of 2600 so it probably comes out somewhere in the wash. Additionally, they figure crowd sizes in large cities by assessing these many blocks, or this area, is covered and you can get approximately this many people in that area. Kind of the same way they figure out how many people are in Times Square on NYE and how many people are at a presidential inauguration.

As has been said many times- myself included- none of this matters at all unless someone votes in November.

It most definitely is a nothing burger. As of today, we still don't have any kings... so I guess mission accomplished? Otherwise, turn out better and vote for your amazing candidates. Or just keep repeating those buzz words to your side until the tds causes someone to do something monumentally stupid.  muh kings, muh hitler, muh threat to democracy!

I think it had to be 2 million easy.

5 cities x 100k = 500k

10 cities x 50k = 500k

2000 towns/cities x 500 (some bigger, some smaller) = 1 million

I think while Trump may call everyone that attended one of these rallies a “deranged leftist,” his ego does hurt that so many people don’t like him, so I think deep down this could cause him to second guess some things in the future.

Now Stephen Miller on the other hand, this will probably just motivate him to be even more of a horrible human.  And he’s one of the ones pulling the actual strings.

AI Overview:
No, the recent "No Kings" protests were not literally against a king.

Instead, the name was used as a symbolic rejection of what protesters viewed as authoritarian tendencies and abuses of power by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. The name is a nod to the American Revolution and the founding principle that the U.S. government was created to be of the people, not ruled by a monarch.

he has a fragile ego. everyone knows this. If that was the mission then I would say the people organizing and attending these rallies need to reevaluate their lives to some degree.

Perhaps more people should have voted for the democratically appointed candidate last november :dunno:

I didn’t say the mission was to bruise his ego, I’m saying the mission may have been to influence him to tone down some of what he’s doing.

edit: and I agree he’s not a King

In my small town they are saying there were 1,000 people.  We were lined up on the same route as the annual Memorial Day parade, and this was the most people I've ever seen lined up on the roads, by far.  Lots of old people, lots of flags, it felt like a giant Memorial Day parade.

Your so-called "sarcasm" is being repeated hundreds of time on social media by critics of the No Kings marches who don't seem to grasp what the purpose of the rallies were and it appears you don't either.

I guess it was a bad branding issue. Can’t all be bangers like BLM or Antifa and they couldn’t just say we’re throwing another tantrum because Donald Trump was elected by the voters.

The mission was to protest.  it's very simple.  It's what we as Americans do when we feel our rights are being violated.  It's what the country was founded on.  It's what any real American believes in, which is why it's very telling to see the Republican leaders object to these protests.  Adds validity to the protests.

Lefty NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani gleefully campaigned this week with a notorious, gay-hating Brooklyn imam
