Lol dude I’m not personally scared. I’m white, in a good income bracket. I’m financially secure and I live in the greatest state. My family is healthy (knock on wood) and in my personal life things have never been better. I just love my country and hate to see this guy screw it up. I disagree with you because sometimes, not always, not always, public protests do lead to positive change. In the 1960s people peacefully protested against segregation, against the Vietnam War, for woman’s rights, for gay rights. And all of these protests were ultimately successful. We know that a majority of Americans now think Trump’s actions are awful per polling. So I am hoping that this latest protest will have a positive, meaningful effect. Of course I have no idea, you may be right: But I’m an optimist.

I get it's America and people have the right to protest and all that. But the strongest protest you have as a citizen is voting. And I'd imagine there will be a large portion of people at the event this weekend that decided "Oh they screwed Bernie, so I can't vote for Hillary." Or thought, "Well Kamala doesn't support Hamas enough so I'm voting for Jill Stein" or some other such nonsense.

Here are some modest proposals: 

1. Stop arresting and detaining and deporting non-violent people. If they have no papers find a way to allow them to stay. 

2. Stop demonizing trans people, especially young trans people. Their lives are hard enough as it is. Leave them alone. 

3. Stop demonizing Muslim- Americans. They are no different from you. Let them live their lives. 
 

4. Stop cheering for judicial lawfare. Force Trump to obey the law like all Presidents before him. 

Do these things and we’ll have no reason to protest.

Yes I will be taking part in a local protest. Not sure for how long because I have an important meeting that day. But at some point I will be there. In addition I gave extra monies to the ACLU this month to help organize. (I always give them money but this time a little more.)

Stop coming here ilegally, if you do get deported, violent or not, there is a process in place to come to this country legally, use it or stay out
