Council woman should be kicked off for saying something so dumb, even though the article says she was retiring anyway. 

The guy who took a beating did slap someone first, and then they descended on him like a pack of animals. Looks like ass holes running into each other. 

I didn’t see the woman get hit or do anything at all, totally unwarranted if that happened.

Yeah if that didn’t happen I’m not sure this story gets as much press (I’m sure righties would say “but if the races were reversed it would have!” which there is no evidence to support). But that’s interesting IMO since it was literally 1 punch from 1 guy, yet the narrative about the fight as a whole is about the “angry black mob.”

It is, but they didn’t do nearly as much damage as the 1 punch from 1 person.  The male got up and walked away.

The guy punching the girl once and KOing her was worse.  Since ya know it was just a total sucker punch from a guy on a woman.  

Most of the action is multiple people jumping in punching the guy and stomping on his head relentlessly.

Yeah, looked like he took a big kick to face when he was on the ground, along w everything else. He did at least physically start it, though we may hear more to this story to affect that, but what happened afterward was pathetic. I do agree w timhauck that this would not be a national story w/o the sucker punch. The 2 black guys, that broad kicking him, and maybe the instigator would have/should have seen some charges, maybe not even, unlikely we ever hear about it.

In one of the other 2 threads where this was being discussed I provided an example of an “angry white mob” beating up a black person from 2 months ago, that made very little national news (oddly enough 1 article in the NY Post, no other national outlets that I saw.)

Theetge said the city had 11 police officers working in the central business district at the time of the attack, which she said was sufficient.

One of the three suspects apprehended so far in the brutal downtown street beating from early Saturday morning was set to be released on bond on Friday.

Jermaine Matthews, 39, was expected to leave the Hamilton County Jail on Friday after paying a combined $270,000 bond after he was hit with four charges stemming from the beatdown, according to his attorney, Brandon Fox.

"The way that it works, he's got an electronic monitoring component to his bond," Fox told Fox News Digital. "Basically an ankle monitor. So, while he posted the financial component, it still requires the probation department to come over and ensure that the ankle monitor is on, [to] tell him the rules, where he can go when, he can go there, that kind of stuff."

Matthews was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of felony assault and aggravated riot for his alleged participation in the brutal brawl, which has garnered national attention this week.

I wasn’t.  I was simply saying there is no evidence to support that “if the races were reversed” this incident would have gotten more press.  I think it would have gotten less.
