This is just ridiculous. Just look to California and how they did this; completely bankrupted the state healthcare system in a very short time. Now they want to ask people over 65 to go back to work to pay for it; along with a few other "options."

The truth is that democrats are holding firm on ACA subsidies and reversing medicaid cuts.  Republicans will never give in on this.  So we have a shutdown.

I don’t. I want them to have access to minimal healthcare. Otherwise they are a public health risk. 

It’s not rocket science and it’s not disgusting either. I don’t want to deport them because I believe that they are overall a net economic benefit (and a cultural benefit but that’s a different issue) and I don’t want them spreading diseases. So they need to have minimal healthcare. Pretty simple.

Once again, the Dems stepping up to try to help the working class, but are too dumb to be able to get the message across. Of course it doesn't help that the news sources many Americans consume (Fox, Newsmax, etc.) won't ever cover a news story with a potentially positive spin for Democrats, so you just keep hearing the lies.

The funding that your party is trying to take away will have disastrous outcomes for millions of Americans. I'm okay with a few illegals getting care if it means we're taking care of our own. Are you?

I don't know. Never, maybe? It's discouraging how inept the Dems are right now. Weak, clueless idiots. When we need the opposite. FFS they could cure cancer and famine in one fell swoop and still figure out a why to be vilified for it. 

I'm back to waffling on the shutdown. If the message that Dems are doing the right thing here, and the Reps are doing the absolute opposite can't get out, what's the point? Let's just avoid the shutdown and let the chips fall at the end of the year when a few million people lose all their healthcare. Maybe we just need to wait for folks to really feel the pain. Maybe we need a hurricane to flatten half of Alabama to show voters the outcomes that are in store for us.
