I really wasn’t/aren’t much of a live music guy saw

Maiden/Ozzy/Dio/GnR

However saw Allman Brothers and Metallica well over 10 times each. ABB probably 20x.

I guess you can add:

VH/Scorpions/Dokken/Metallica/Kingdom Come all part of Monsters of Rock @ Giant stadium guessing ‘88 ?’89 ?

0 for 25.  😦

I've been to hundreds of concerts from the 70's forward but didn't see any on the list.

Edited to say, I might have seen Y&T in the late 70's but can't verify it with a date or venue in L.A.

I remember that Y&T was a band that my friends and I really liked and talked about catching a show but can't remember if we did (I think they were playing the Hollywood Palladium). In any event if I did see them it wasn't particulary memorable.

Just curious - people here know who this is?

I’ve never been able to tell how popular or well known they were nationally.

Yes however Long Island NY kinda adopted Zebra as a Long Island band even though they were and still are not.

How could you afford to go to so many concerts? Do you live near a stadium or concert venue?

No. Back then tickets were between ten to fifteen dollars. I had a job and some side jobs cutting grass. Prince and Janet Jackson at the Superdome were free. I worked the hot nachos stand. As soon as they starved, I was long gone. Some are big named concerts, small known bands. Tipitinas,Jazz Festival and many more

Yes really. lol. No, I am not.

Scary thing? This all started in 1999. when I was 27

I had been to one concert in my life when I hit 27. Boston in 1995

I am a hair band nut, Hair Nation on Sirius is my station.

Sad thing is. I only go now if it's at one of the smaller, cheaper venues. I am not paying 500+ for tickets. I did pay $500 for 3 tickets to Green Day/Weezer, but it was for my girls 40th and it is her favorite band (brought her sister too)

It's crazy how little I've paid to see most of these shows. The only ones I really forked over cash for were Iron Maiden (twice) and Prince. Prince was playing a residency in Vegas at the time, so I saw him in a club for my wife's 30th bday. Epic and worth every penny. Bush and RHCP I saw at Woodstock 99, kinda by accident. I'd never pay to see either on their own.

And yes I saw NKOTB, without shame. First real concert experience, free tix, a day at the state fair without adult supervision, hot chicks everywhere (I was 13, no such thing as jailbait), and Hanging Tough was the #1 song on Billboard when I saw them. Great memories. And no, I didn't buy any merch. I got a "cool" Iron Maiden pendant and a Zippo with AC/DC emblazoned on it at the midway, though.
