If enacted on a long-term basis, the change would significantly shift the way National Guard troops have worked with law enforcement in the District since their arrival.

I agree with you actually, at least this part. But we also maximize the ease of access for terrorists all the way down to criminals to get guns in this country. It’s a cycle. We do nothing about it. And so we fight over this stuff instead.

I live in a city that has had that problem for years. A few years back a guy walked up to a female cop and just shot her point blank, no reason except he was crazy. 1. He got easy access to a gun, 2. The city didn’t have enough space to store him. Constant cycle.

Exactly. I know we have skids trying desperately to make the strawman argument that we should be blaming the killer instead of Trump, who created the power keg. But it’s not a binary.

Yes, the killer is MOST to blame. But it’s indisputable that this wouldn’t have happened to a WV Guard member unless Trump and the WV governor sent troops there for nothing more than a show. He may as well have painted targets on their backs. There will always be crazy people and there are way too many guns in this country. These deployments are just begging for the exact tragedy that just happened.

The total number of all undocumented immigrants in the US is ~14 million, and MOST of them came in BEFORE Biden was president. Also, Trump granted the killer asylum.
