Mamdani’s new appointments chief resigns over anti-Jewish posts

Recommended Posts

AND IT BEGINS

One of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s new appointees resigned after just a day on the job over decade-old social media posts that recalled antisemitic tropes.

Newly minted Director of Appointments Catherine Almonte Da Costa tendered her resignation this afternoon just hours after her past comments came to light.

Yup, it's here, ask Minnesota or Dearborn, Michigan

Isn't the fact that she was forced to resign proof that the Mamdani administration is not antisemitic?

These were ten year old tweets that were obviously missed in the vetting process and if they had been seen I'm sure she never would have been appointed.

Oh I’m sure these were found in the vetting process. Most likely confirmed she had the right ideology to work for mamdani

That is complete BS, Hell Toupee and you know it. Your anti-Muslim hatred and bias is showing once again.

If they had found it, then they would have known that anyone else could also find it, and that there would be a scandal, which is exactly what happened. So, obviously they weren't aware of these tweets.

Absolutely. mamdani is looking to create chaos and hatred in this country and that chick fit the suit. I would not be surprised if he is the center of orchestrating the next 9/11 type attack on the US.

And he is empowered because of liberal ignorant hate filled voters.

Do any of the folks posting in this thread even live in NY state, let alone NYC?

I'm mystified as to why anyone cares, other than team sport politics. I live less than a hundred miles from MPLS and do not giveashit who the mayor is. Why should we care about NYC? The citizens there care enough about the city and themselves to cover for any amount of apathy from the rest of the American population. If you've ever been in NYC or met someone from there, you know what I'm talking about.

Liberals are really stupid. And you all are in this country. That shouldn't be allowed. You all need to have frontal lobotomies or take your whiny crap lives to the middle east or something.

My daughter lives there, so I care.  Then again, I'm pretty sure she voted for him, so I have a little bit of a "you broke it, you bought it" attitude about it.  Part of me wants him to get his "free" buses and "free" childcare and rent control for everyone and government-run grocery stores, and let the Left experience the abject disaster that that would be.  But realistically, I expect him to get practically none of it, and spend his time whining about how the state and city legislators won't enact his socialist plans.

Also, it's the financial capital of the country, arguably the world, so its success is important.

Trump’s business partner laundered money for Al Qaida, Isis, Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Fine, you're excused.

Your concern over Mamdani wrecking NYC is belied by your support of our current POTUS wrecking half the planet IMO, but we've beaten that dead horse into a red bubbly foam already. Happy holidays, Jerry!

Sad truth is the world is shifting.  There are more takers than makers.  His policies fit the taker to a T.  The makers are not wanting to glorify this.  Liberals are.  Why?

Honestly that comment is worse to me than the Jewish ones.   The Jewish comments that were quoted aren’t that bad, mostly just saying they’re rich and like money.   She apparently does too as she married one.

Meh. Trying to lay the results of 50+ years of the steady stream of corporations favoring profits over people and moving operations overseas at the feet of liberals seems kinda lazy. Mamdani will quickly understand that in reality he cannot accomplish most of what he promised.

And you hate liberals but we're not here claiming everyone that agrees with you is a criminal scumbag. We just recognize that YOU are an individual, bigoted, hateful POS. That's on YOU, not your entire cohort. Do YOU understand??

That is not for us to decide.

Jewish students in New York City “are scared” about what Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s victory means for their lives on campus, saying that the democratic socialist’s win is “a huge blow to the New York City Jewish community.”

Students from Columbia University, Barnard University and Baruch College are revealing some of the major concerns held by Jewish students ahead of Mamdani’s swearing in on New Year’s Day.

“I think it’s a huge blow to the New York City Jewish community,” Aidan Herlinger of Baruch College said. “We’re looking at someone who has shouted out the Holy Land Five in a rap song, which he still hasn’t taken off his Twitter, he’s supported globalize the Intifada, refused to condemn it, and I think that’s such a dangerous precedent for Jewish people.”

Mamdani wants to make the buses free  because the majority of problems the drivers have is with telling people they have to pay.

From the Rupert Murdock owned tabloid, The New York Post, give me a break. 😂

I'm sure they are concerned. I don't blame them. Given all of this, if I was a Jewish NYC resident, I'd be a bit wary, too.

But if I've learned anything from MAGA, it's to not care in the least about people being scared, even when the fear is 100% justifiable. I'm told it's just a symptom of TDS.

Of course..CNN or MSNBC would never interview Jewish students about their fears and concerns.
