Vitale slammed Johnson for his “classless” attitude and claimed the Bears coach’s NSFW shot at the Packers was “childish.”

“Total CLASSLESS attitude in winning by BEN JOHNSON coach of the @ChicagoBears⁦⁩ in the fab comeback to beat the ⁦⁩@packers. Main theme should have been the gutty comeback not the childish F__ Packers comments,” Vitale wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

He said, "I see nothing wrong with it.  I do not like the packers. "

You honestly think that Ben Johnson is the only coach in the NFL to swear in the locker room? 

And how is he "trying too hard"? He took a 5-12 team in his first year as a coach and turned them into a playoff team. Maybe other coaches should try like he does.

Personally I love the pettiness. I have no dog in this hunt,  but I like NFCNbteams, their history & their fans. And the NFL has gotten out of hand with the cameras in the locker rooms & the mid game coach interviews. Johnson is great, reminds me of early Payton.

Remember when Dan Campbell had an initial press conference and he gave a speech of about when his players get tackled the are going claw their way back up and on the way they were going twist their legs, bite their knee caps, etc. etc....

Loved it and not just because im a Bears fan. Rivalries are great…and too many players and teams are buddies and like each other, work out together…..good to see some genuine dislike.

I sure as shiit guarantee you the NFL loves it will promote the heck out of those games and tons of people will watch because of it.

Over the past week Johnson has been pushing it hard as a bitter rivaly and he's pushed it hard thinking about the years to come and getting in into his players heads. Fires up up the fans bigtime too.

Like I said, whatever covers up your hurt. I'm pretty sure the Bears could be beat by the Rams, but all I needed this year was Caleb Williams to show he's the guy who people thought he could be, and that Ben Johnson would have a successful first year as head coach. Both proven true. Now in the offseason, they need to fix their defense.

Johnson is trying too hard.  He does not have enough history with the Packers to hate them.  Reminds me of Lovey Smith who tried to ingratiate himself with the fan base by promising wins over Green Bay.  His act is kind of a juvenile act, but if it works for his team and their fans, so be it.

That is indeed history with the packers.current history even. 

And, it's his job to get the players' buy I'm on the rivalry. Every team does it..

And like I said, if this is trying too hard, I hope he keeps it up. When was the last time the Bears beat the packers twice in a year?

Normally I would agree with you. However, everything I've looked into says this isn't a bears, packers thing. 

This is actually personal between LaFleur and Johnson. Johnson claims LeFleur (and I guess his friends, because LeFleur is supposedly well liked/connected.) Tried to keep Johnson from even getting coordinator jobs, let alone a head coaching gig.

I have know idea if any of this is true. But it seems like LeFleur could've been head coach of the Raiders. And BJ would've said f'them.

Well if it is a personal grudge he should rip LaFleur, not the Packers.  I will say I do respect a good personal grudge.  If he wants to settle one old score, one small point of pride, I can respect that.

He brought LeFleur specifically in his introductory press conference on day one.

And LeFleur didn't respond with much when questioned back then.

They absolutely have a history.

And the packers are Lefleur's livelihood at this time.

I always think of the 80's NBA when all the top guy's hated each other. Now everyone texts each other after the game. And talk about everything but the game.

I am put in mind of the Joe Kapp / Angelo Mosca fight when they were in their 70's.  They never let their animosity go.  I am sure there is video of it still floating around.

I kinda like this too.  The GB Chicago rivalry has existed since football began.  Nothing wrong with someone stirring it up more.
