This was during a hearing on the safety of the abortion pill.

And this was a legitimate question asked.

I mean the answer is obviously "no" and she should've said that...but more precisely she should've just called him a clown and moved on.

I genuinely don't understand why liberals are clinging to this.  It makes their entire premise absurd.  Surely they see this?

I have liberal family members, some of them very very liberal, and they hate this tranny stuff.   This is not helping their cause at all

After stumbling through countless ums and awws, saying "I'm just trying to figure out where you are with this.....etc...."

"Let me remind you what you testified to a moment ago: "Science and evidence should control, not politics." So let me ask you again, Can men get pregnant?"

Answer: "I think yes/no questions like this are a political tool...."

😆

A quick Scientific answer is just to say No..then move on.  Not sure why she would not answer.

Polls show the majority of Dems do not cling to this.  Why the Dem leaders choose this hill to fight on makes zero sense.

Remember this classic answer? Name that libtard. Hint, they put that clown on the supreme court.

"I'm no biologist." 😆

Thats my point.  They are being led by the super far left here.   And that policy lost them the election in 2024.  I don't get it

From the exchange she- correctly- identified this as a person trying to make political gain.

But still- just say "No," mock Hawley and then move on.

God, she’s painfully dumb. Like just the regular fed lawyers have to spoon feed her and walk her through things.

When you're forced to support the overthrow of Venezuela, pending invasion of greenland, selling out our country to the elite billionaires, gestapo terrorizing our cities and the cover up of a global child trafficking ring, fall back on the old reliable, can men get pregnant.

Your BS only flies with other libtards. Go get some ammo for your pea shooter. CNN has a ton of it for you.

Gotta love the libs here saying it was just one doctor being stupid.  Well, she was YOUR doctor. Who invited her to testify?  She didn't just show up on her own and I doubt the Republicans on the committee invited her.

It is a trick or a "Gotcha" question, but run with it, if it gives you something to feel self-righteous about.

It's probably because of the extreme cases, people with XY chromosomes can get pregnant.

Quote

Yes, it's extremely rare but possible for someone with a Y chromosome (typically XY) to get pregnant and give birth, usually through medical intervention like ovum donation, due to variations in sex development (like Swyer Syndrome or Turner Syndrome with Y mosaicism) that result in individuals having a uterus but underdeveloped or absent ovaries, requiring hormone therapy and assisted reproduction. These individuals often develop as female, have female anatomy, but need donor eggs and sometimes hormone support to carry a pregnancy.

Quote

Can a person with a Y chromosome give birth to a child?

Yes, it is possible for someone with a Y chromosome to become pregnant and give birth to a child. But it's extremely rare.

One of the most important requirements for pregnancy is having a uterus. Most people with a Y chromosome don't have a uterus and without one, there is no place for a baby to grow. No uterus, no pregnancy.

So how is it possible for people to have both a Y chromosome and a uterus? One possibility is that their Y chromosome lacks what it takes to make a male. Unfortunately, scientists don't know the rest of the story.

What we do know is that every once in a while, an XY person develops into a female. These individuals could be female in every way, but they almost always lack working ovaries and a uterus. Which means that they can't get pregnant.

For reasons we don't understand, on very rare occasions, an XY female does have a uterus. But she still needs a donated egg, since she can't make one herself (no ovaries).

There are a handful of cases where individuals with a Y chromosome, a uterus, and a donated egg have become pregnant and given birth to a child. One such mom even had twins!

So the answer is more complicated than yes/no, but hey all the experts here say there are only two sexes, no exceptions, so it must be settled.

I’m pretty sure Josh Hawley is wearing a women’s suit in that vid so it’s an appropriate question.

This is so pathetic, even for you.

She wouldn't answer because she's afraid of the woke mob coming after her, it's that simple. She's scared of stating the truth because of your kind.

Nobody needs an explanation of scientific 1-off's that are statistically insignificant. You and everybody on the planet knows that's not what we're talking about here.

Yes, instead she is getting mocked. It is not political, it is biology and a Dr knows that.

Such tricky questions!  Thankfully, the medical licensing exams must not have these perplexing questions.

Again though- how does that question have anything to do with the topic of the hearing at hand? That's what makes it political in nature.

I mean I know that stuff like that exists, and you know it exists....but she should also be smart enough to know the country doesn't do nuance very well at this point when people (like the usual smattering of idiots in here commenting) have been conditioned into thinking everything is clearly defined black or white and there is no room for anything off that.

She didn't answer by saying irrelevant.  She deflected and refused to answer at all.

Or she could have said "except in very rare cases, no" which would accurately answer the question.

Because the answer can be very nuanced dealing with the gender identity of trangenders and doctors plus many leading Democrats don't want to go down that rabbit hole.

AI Overview

Asking a doctor if a man can get pregnant is a loaded question because it hinges on definitions: biologically, cisgender men can't (lacking ovaries/uterus), but for transgender men or intersex individuals with reproductive organs, pregnancy is biologically possible, making the question potentially invalidating or misinformed, forcing the doctor to navigate gender identity vs. biological function, and highlighting the evolving understanding of sex and gender in medicine.

Have you ever watched these hearings? They always take different paths.

Just say no, men can`t get pregnant and move on.  Takes all of 5 seconds.
