Blue Lives Matter f-ing with the ICE Protestors

So for those who haven't heard, Blue Lives Matter has been organizing off duty law enforcement and other volunteers to trick protestors in to thinking they're ICE to lure them away from real ICE so ICE can do their job.  And now we have this:

Who's trying to deescalate?  They're trying to distract so ICE can do it's job with less change of being attacked.  It's still focking entertaining.  I imagine @FrancieFootball getting together with her Soros funded butt buddies, expecting to fock with ICE based upon Intel that was phoned in.  They burst through the doors of the bar with their fock ICE signs and bullhorns, only to be confronted by the boys of Sons of Anarchy grabbing a beer.

Maybe.  But the protestors aren't willing to deescalate.  And you've worked with law enforcement.  I think you'd agree that at a certain point you have to use the hammer.  I wish that wasn't the case, and in some jurisdictions it's not, but these Sanctuary jurisdictions with their paid protestors are specifically looking to cause chaos.   Their recklessness got Renee Good killed.    You don't see this stuff happening in Florida.

In many cases we've seen documenting what appear to be "overzealous" (to put it neutrally) apprehension tactics employed by DHS, ICE, BP, there are no protestors. The escalation is literally ENTIRELY due to the actions of those agents.

But you are blissfully unaware of these things. Just how you like it.

From my observations I would disagree that the escalation is entirely due to the action of the Agents.  I would also postulate that no matter the tactics employed there would be some protestors as they object not only to the tactics, but to the underlying policies. Some of the protestors object to the goal of deportation while others , maybe, only to the tactics, and I will note they seem to conflate exceptions in tactics as being the rule.  We know this with them having in many cases tried to create sanctuary against federal law.  They oppose the law and use perposeful misconceptions about tactics as their vehicle for so doing.  None of this is to pretend that the Agents are all without sin.  I have seen examples of very poor tactics, tactics which would, were I in charge, have some Agents immediately dismissed from service.  I think the percentage of poor performance is small, but when dealing with human rights and constitutional rights in an inflamed environment certainly significant. 

 

Maybe I am old fashioned.  I believe legitimate protests may involve civil disobedience, but not uncivil disobedience.  I believe in petitioning the government and the courts, not trying to oppose them.  I believe in teaching, not overshouting others.  We have gotten to a very dangerous place where compromise and understanding now have no standing.  I see this all continuing until we hit a crisis level inflection point.  The payment for our current divide will be a terrible price.
