justforbeer 39 Posted November 3, 2016 The worst luck with matchups this year.... Take a look at my team....so even after drafting this team, I will not even make the playoffs!! FML,
ZeroTolerance 582 Posted November 3, 2016 *shrug* I finished 2nd in total points in one league last year and 12th in the standings.
weepaws 2,460 Posted November 3, 2016 Reason why I don't enjoy Head to head leagues. I like total points leagues more.
GornFishin' 57 Posted November 3, 2016 All FF should be head to head. This isn't golf.
weepaws 2,460 Posted November 3, 2016 Nope not all. Only those that don't like to compete.
Phil Simms 11 127 Posted November 3, 2016 We use h2h for top seed. Power rankings for all other playoff spots.
Brutal Brutus 182 Posted November 3, 2016 Total points for is probably the most boring week to week way to play fantasy. In one league I'm in we use a combo system. 1 win for head to head, 1 win for being in the top half of scorers. It's a little weird but it seems to be the most balanced and fun way I've experienced. Law 220 Posted November 3, 2016 Total points for is probably the most boring week to week way to play fantasy. And also one of the most competitive draining methods out there. Way back in the day, I did one of these league. By the mid-way point several teams were so far behind they just quite playing. As the season wore on, more and more teams dropped out as they mathematically had less and less change. In the end, only a few teams were even trying. For me, that was a one and done for that format. Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted November 3, 2016 Whats so great about your team? Am I supposed to look at it and be shocked you stink?
uwmalcolm 73 Posted November 3, 2016 2/3 of my leagues have the 5&6 playoffs seeds awarded to the highest remaining point totals instead of record. Much better way to do it.
Kent 228 Posted November 3, 2016 Our points leader one year missed the playoffs. He won the big points prize though. Crazy.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted November 3, 2016 Yep, it happens. i have an all star team that is 2-6.
General Gannicus 12 Posted November 3, 2016 This is why in my league I changed it a long time ago to the system we now use with great results now... The two division winners are seeds 1 and 2.... The next two best records regardless of division are teams 3 and 4... The final two playoff spots are decided by best breakdown (all play) record.. For instance my team is 3-5 now and in last in my division.. But my breakdown record is better than some teams who are 4-4 or 4-3-1 so if the playoffs started today I would be in instead of them... Nothing is worse than losing 158-155 while someone wins 110-105 so if your a team that consistently scores more points than other teams you will still end up in the playoffs... It also keeps owners engaged all year as a few weeks going 7-2 in breakdown can put you in a position to make the playoffs over some team that had a lucky schedule and didnt score many points... Seems like the best 6 teams make our playoffs almost every year and I'm surprised other leagues don't use this system when sites like cbs and myfantasyleague keep track of it for you and nobody is truly out of it until December... Mike Nice 40 Posted November 3, 2016 That's why you should play in MFL, where you can set the league for Head 2 head vs opponent and also vs league average. This giving you 2 games a week, and will eliminate those week you play the highest scoring team but score the second highest,

purplengold47 27 Posted November 4, 2016 Hi guys, what site can i use if we wanna go on that direction, like one win for h2h and one win for top half highest pts, so 2 possible wins per week. Im looking for something like that too and do they have an app like yahoo with that's user friendly?? Thanks guys.

Our commish does it manually on an excel sheet and posts the standings in our facebook group every week. I don't think it takes him more than a couple of minutes each week. We tried the system of 5 & 6 seeds going to the top points, but a team tied with the best record missed the playoffs do to losing tie breakers, so we scrapped that. Squintz82 45 Posted November 4, 2016 Victory points has helped this in my league. 2 points for a H2H win, and 1 additional point for a top 6 score. Rewards good teams, opposed to lucky teams.
Spinner 0 Posted November 4, 2016 The worst luck with matchups this year.... Take a look at my team....so even after drafting this team, I will not even make the playoffs!! FML, Four of your losses may be due to not having Bell for four weeks...that's a draft miscue. Not having Big Ben is not a matchup problem...just an injury problem that everyone has to deal with. I'd be more impressed with your team if it were a 14 team league...12 league? Not so much.
