I not only wouldn't go if it were free, I wouldn't go unless they paid me a decent chunk

OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES ARE UNDER ATTACK
Become a Monthly Donor and Fight Back
The assaults on people's rights by the Trump administration are far-ranging and devastating. In the first year of his presidency, he's:
Undermined reproductive rights
Used religion to discriminate against LGBT people and religious minorities
Trampled on the rights of immigrants
Worked to deepen the racial inequities at the heart of our criminal justice system
Become a monthly donor, a Guardian of Liberty, now and help the ACLU prevent the lasting damage that unbridled, unchecked power can inflict on American democracy.

JFC, really? what a bunch of hogwash

You know, I did think of that when TimmySmiff mentioned the MAGA hat.

They are proponents of free speech. Why would they mind my wearing a maga hat?

Interesting... I fancy myself a fan of civil liberties yet I can't get behind any of this. #1 and #3 I pretty much don't support, and I don't know to what they are referring for #2 and #4.

Had they added something like "supports the Patriot Act as have prior administrations," they'd have gotten my attention.

Me too. What do you like most about the ACLU?

Theyve been on the front lines against government overreach like the Patriot Act for years.

How about the platform being given for BLM at an ACLU event? You cool with it?

Sure you do. How can you afford it what with eating at all those fancy restaurants on your salary? Plus a step kid starting college? Doesn't add up.

No I am not but on par the aclu does good work. I only give $50 or so per year and I rarely go out to eat so I can afford it.

Pot kettle.

Truly amazing if you're so ignorant you don't see that they lean far far left politically.

No, what's really amazing is you made a dumb focking claim, you are proven 100% wrong, and have now turned it into a media bias argument. Pot/kettle ---

They used to be fairly non partisan. Maybe always a little more attractive to the left but they drew in plenty of libertarians on the right as well.

Then the right went full nutso
