wiffleball 4,657 Posted November 16, 2018 Has anybody tried this yet? I've never really gotten the big draw. But I know down in Houston they have a restaurant that's basically built around that concept. Does an amazing business with the Asian crowd. I kid.

SenatorRock 708 Posted November 17, 2018 Fried chicken and waffles is the best breakfast you can have. It goes perfect together. Steak and eggs. Huevos rancheros. Egg, chorizo, green chile breakfast burrito. I'll take chicken & waffles as a novelty, special occasion breakfast, but as for a weekly or daily I think the above 3 options are superior. I was there a few years back and the line was out the door and around the corner. Moved quickly, the food was outstanding. Highly recommended for anyone visiting. Houston is probably the most underrated food city in America. Probably the most diverse city in America outside of NYC and the cuisine reflects that.

mobb_deep 918 Posted November 17, 2018 The seasoning blend from KFC does not seem suited as a compliment to waffles. Agree. It would go better with Popeyes or Churchs. The chicken needs to be spicy for a good chicken and waffles.

vuduchile 1,941 Posted November 17, 2018 Probably wont try the KFC version but I do like it. Just in case anyones wondering, youre not required to eat the chicken and waffles together in each and every bite. Ive made fried chicken and homemade waffles several times and I dont drizzle the chicken with cayenne maple syrup or add shallots and rosemary to the waffles to make em savory. Just fry a chicken, whip up some waffles, heat the syrup, soften the butter, and put it all on the table.
DonS 3,079 Posted November 17, 2018 Saw the commercial for it this past weekend. Who is playing the Colonel as he dances with Mrs. Butterworth? Can't figure it out. Edit: nevermind. Guess it's a nobody. And in a departure from most of KFC's recent campaigns, Col. Sanders isn't portrayed by a well-known celebrity. Actor Craig Fleming fills the role in this spot

Lots of foods are yummy... let's use lobster as an example. Would lobster and waffles be a thing? Lobster and fried chicken? If you don't eat them together, why is it a thing? wiffleball 4,657 Posted November 18, 2018 Like I said, I don't like the spicy. But not so unusual. Sweet and salty works well. Our best place here did these amazing rolls with apple butter. Went perfect with fried chicken.

Fried chicken just also happens to work. Lobster does not. Just follow my instructions tomorrow morning, then let me know how it turns out.
iam90sbaby 2,134 Posted November 18, 2018 Make sure you smoother it in syrup too. No Betty Crocker either use real maple syrup.
