  1. Yeah, I left the bolded out because it just would add confusion to the reasoning: "hey, if we try and fail, then try and fail again, we can get a FG and still win! Yahtzee!!!"
  2. I see what you mean, but the "vindictive prosecution" was unnecessary for a factual summary. He's facing charges which he's fighting, period. Every perp in prison faced something like vindictive prosecution, just ask them.
  3. The thinking is that it improves the chance of a win vs. a tie. If they are successful, a TD and XP gives them the lead. If they fail (as in this case), they have another shot to go for two if they get another TD - they did get one, and they tried, and they failed again. So obviously it's not a perfect system. It's the kind of thing a team that is out of the playoffs does. Personally, I don't like it, because IMO it sends the message to your team that you can only win with gimmicks.

    They make 6XL clothes now?

Whatever it takes to maintain my girlish figure.
  5. AI called it "vindictive prosecution"? No bias there. Of course the lefties here will say derp it was vindictive though. My point is that if we aren't already there, we are near the point where people just believe AI, so everyone will become biased to the results of it. Which chain?! Link motherfocker, do you know it?

5'11, between 170-175, just measured 172.5. 32" waist. I was maybe more like 180 out of college, but I also had more muscle then. I did go through a fatter stage in my 30s and early 40s -- around 193 for years and thought that was normal, until I ballooned up over 200, which for my frame is not a good look. That was around when I thought the 34" waist pants were a little snug, time for some 36s! We just went through a bunch of old pictures for a slideshow we did at our party this past weekend, my wife was like "dood, I didn't realize how fat you were back then!"

4 Problems with Earth Like Exoplanets

Very interesting, thanks for posting. I hadn't heard about the red dwarf issues, that's a big limiter. Also the lack of rotation on tidal locked planets possibly (probably?) causing an insufficient magnetic field is an issue. It's like there are a near-infinite number of planets, and a near-infinite number of reasons life can't exist on them.

Seafoam is making a strong year-end run to maintain his worst poster of the year title.

I think he was talking about the pre-mixes from his OP.

Rank your top 5 of these HBO shows.

We enjoyed Leftovers, but I wouldn't put it on a best-of list. It was kinda all over the place IMO. Of edjr's list, I've only seen GoT and Band of Brothers. We read the GoT books back when the early ones came out, so we were OG fans. Even though the ending blew chunks, I thought they did a good job relaying that massive epic tale. I just finished BoB; Ben Shapiro calls it the best show ever and it isn't close... eh, slow your roll, Ben. It's very good, but not best ever. Although the episode with the concentration camp was one of the most powerful episodes I've ever seen. I'll add Succession to the list, which we really enjoyed. Just to piss off Ed.

You're welcome! I looked at those and had the same thought, but that one wasn't on Prime delivery. Looks like it should still make it before Christmas but they should order soon.

I haven't used that syrup but it gets good reviews, so I'd say go for it. I make 3-4 old fashioneds a week, and my regular bourbons alternate between these two: Knob Creek 9 yr Small Batch Elijah Craig Small Batch These are 100 and 94 proof respectively, and $43 or $40 for 1.75 L bottles. Either is IMO the best deal for pretty good bourbon out there. I put Total Wine links, but Costco usually carries one or both at the identical price. Of course you can get smaller bottles if you want, but not at Costco. Otherwise, my sipping bourbons are mostly cask strength so not a good value for mixed drinks. For sweetener I used to make my own demerara 1:2 concentrate simple syrup, but I just bought the Skinny Syrups simple syrup, and while it's not bad for a sugar-free sweetener, it's not as tasty as the real stuff, of course. I may go back to the real stuff. It's easy enough to make: boil water, stir in bag, bring back to boil, let cool a little, dump in mason jar with lid and refrigerate. Demerara sugar For bitters, I use Angostura regular and orange. I also have a black walnut bitters from Fee Brothers I add sometimes.
