The new Louis C.K. sitcom starts tonight

Recommended Posts

One of the finest comedians working today. Word is the censors are pretty much hands off on the delete button. Anything goes.

Love him as a comic, probably my favorite out there now.

I could not sit through his HBO show.

I DVR's last nights show and watchd the 1st 10 minutes. I was laughing several times, especially when he was trying to get the black kids to sit by the windows when the bus broke down in Harlem.

The show has a ton of potential, Louis still could improve on the acting a little, but it could be workable if the show is well written (which it should be).

Meant to check this out but forgot to set the DVR. Maybe it will be repeated.

Uneven, but loads of potential.

The poker game discussion in the 2nd episode last night felt very Quentin-like.

I laughed hard, while very tired at 2:00am (ish) The poker table ghey man talk was pretty classic, I love dialogue like that, just hanging out talking quality shiit. I was absolutely rolling on the first episode where she said "Can you stop smiling at me like that?"....No. Then when he went in for the ackward kiss and she bolted off the bench and took off in the chopper, gold.

Seinfeld was garbage until after the first or second season (I forget) but ended up being fantastic, this is starting off more entertaining at least, I hope to see more of Nick DePaulo.

BTW Philly, your manlove for Jimmy Norton exceeds mine for the Kobe Bryant, sick bastage. :music_guitarred:

I disagree. It was like the 2000 version (updated of course) of the Honeymooners. With the single camera, obvious fake set and it was raw and on edge every moment. That was a great season of comedy.

Ronald Regan was funnier and he was a great president.

this thread cost me an hour of my life. got home sunday from fireworks and FX was showing the 1st two episodes. terrible. neither was funny. the stand up clips and conversation dirven "plots" made it feel like seinfeld which was a mistake cause then you just end up comparing to seinfeld and its way., way worse and less funny. actually the stand up bits were mostly funny which also made the awfulness of the show stand out.

in summary, a much, much worse seinfeld where the main character can say c0ck and sh!t. avoid.

The standup parts are pretty damn funny. He had me guffawing at the end of episode one with the "...and that's why it's so hard to start dating again" bit. I also enjoyed the bit on the little cardboard milk cartons they give to kids at school.

That said, the actual show stinks. I wasn't surprised because I saw his HBO show when it was on about 5 years ago and that sucked too. This show is basically the same, except now he is single and even more bitter.

The first two episodes were uneven, but there are plenty of guest stars upcoming in future episodes to work off of.

Does anybody really do good coming out of the gate. Anybody else remember how awful Seinfeld was first year. Cheers was slow to build. Married With Children. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It takes a few episodes to find your legs.

Whatever. I'll keep watching. Louis C.K. is too funny of a human being working with virtually no censorship to not put together a dam good show.

I thought the first two shows were pretty funny. But what the hell do I know about funny?

The acting is bad, but there were some funny awkward moments. The stand up bits are a little too long though and need to be cut back a little.

It's off to a rough start, but I'm gonna keep watching to support Louis. Some of the things he comes up with and the way he frames them are pure brilliance. He's a guy who actually deserves to be rich and famous from his comedy while hacks like Mencia actually have the fame and money instead.

Although no comedian has ever or will ever (and this includes Seinfeld) have a funnier show than Dave Chappelle. Forget 'meh' episodes, there weren't even 'meh' sketches.

I dunno, I like it. Its not setting the world on fire or anything but its funny.

Louis has an awesome personality though, if I knew him he'd be me BFF
