Glad to hear the 19 yr old is doing better.
I've got a 28 yr old boy, 26 and 23 yr old girls. All are gainfully employed and seem generally happy with life. The boy has a GF of several years that will probably become our DIL; I predict an engagement not long after his best friend's wedding in March.
Older girl wants to meet Mr. Right. Unfortunately, she is a hard-core Leftie who thinks she wants a soy boy, but she's also a total alpha female who would never be happy with such a guy. Hopefully she eventually grows up and figures it out.
Younger girl is the one in NY; she works in the fashion industry and lives with a gay guy friend from Phoenix, so basically every guy she knows is gay. I was happy to learn during her visit over the holidays that she would like to date, and has set a goal to do so this year.
So... no grandkids yet, but I'm cautiously optimistic, particularly for my boy. When I got cancer and the prognosis of death, I was hoping to just see them all graduate college and get settled. Now that that has happened and I seem to be not dying, I feel like I'm playing with house money. Any accomplishment I get to experience will be a blessing.
