Parents call out unfairness as trans pitcher throws shutout in Minnesota softball state quarterfinals
TimHauck replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
That has nothing to do with what I just said, but yes I do think she’s a bigot, not because “she doesn’t say things the way I think she should,” because her words have shown she doesn’t like trans folks in general, not just the trans folks that play in womens sports. And honestly, as I think about it more, no I truly don’t think her negative comments about trans folks in situations that have nothing to do with sports actually help her argument. Because if her ultimate goal is for all states to pass legislation to ban biological males in women’s sports, the people she should be targeting with her messaging are the Dem politicians (as most regular folk already agree with her). And to do that, she should focus on facts and data, not just inflammatory rage bait. As I said earlier, most of what she’s doing now is just riling up the people that already agree with her. It has helped her get rich though, which I think was her bigger objective. -

I wasn’t “cornered,” you made a stupid statement that adding a trans category wouldn’t make sports inclusive. Please explain how adding a trans category wouldn’t be more inclusive. Thanks in advance. -
Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...
jerryskids replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
A few reasons, none of which you'll agree with. 1. I believe a small subset of trans people have gender dysphoria. Brianna pre-dates the social contagion, when trans people who medically transitioned were thoroughly vetted to have the disease. 2. She also medically and surgically transitioned, so she presents as a she. We can argue whether or not people should do this, or if we should instead work on addressing the mental illness (I've made this latter argument multiple times). But, she did it. 3. As my quote indicated, she's just trying to live out life, not inject herself into women's sports etc. Given all of the above, I'm comfortable calling Brianna she/her. I don't believe she is some sexual predator guy looking to rape girls in the bathroom; she doesn't even have a cack anymore. Someone like Leah Thomas meets none of the criteria I listed, so I'm fine referring to Leah as he/him. HTH -

Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...
jerryskids replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
I'm talking about the increase, not trans in general. I have posted multiple times that I believe there are a small subset of trans people who have gender dysphoria. To that end, it disappoints me that a lot of folks (including this site) don't agree, and just jump on the "boys can't be girls" wagon. I think Brianna presents an excellent path to getting to an accurate and reasonable place. Which is basically where we were 10-15 years ago, when sanity ruled the day. But @The Real timschochetchooses to believe political groups instead of reality, and @squistion seems to believe whatever Kyle Griffin says, but he knows best. -

Thanks Jerry, but I don’t care. To me it’s like having a Jew deny the Holocaust. Some have (famously, Bobby Fischer) but that doesn’t take away the truth of the event. Kanye West has argued that American chattel slavery was a good thing. Shall I consider his comments on the subject to be more merit worthy than others because he is a black man? I don’t. I didn’t have any personal opinion on the question of the explosion of the number of trans people until quite recently. What I read, from most medical experts and psychiatrists and psychologists, is that it’s a result of people feeling free to express their innermost feelings, that the same numbers were always there but hidden. This intuitively made sense to me. I also read a minority of opinion that it was a “social contagion.” Since this opinion was mostly spread from people whom I judged to be bigoted against trans (and before that bigoted against homosexuality) I treated this minority opinion with a great amount of skepticism. I still do. But in the end I regard this as a scientific question, equivalent to the best way to land an airplane. When the majority of experts change their opinion on this subject I will as well. -

No. It was relevant to the sentence I quoted, which Wu wants to “change the conversation to.” I had never heard of Wu before today, but she is described by you as “influential in the trans community.” And she has had multiple posts showing her disdain for Gaines, who is probably one of the most well-known people that is “dehumanizing to trans people.” -

You’re proving my point. Gaines isn’t just arguing for fairness in sports. She’s arguing that trans people shouldn’t exist. @TBayXXXVII earlier claimed that “Gaines has never once said that trans folks should be ignored, she only says they don’t belong in sports.” Here are couple posts of hers not related to sports at all, or even children, yet mocking trans people as a whole: https://x.com/Riley_Gaines_/status/1861564050024329515 https://x.com/Riley_Gaines_/status/1808256336922108415 @TBayXXXVII, let me know when you’re ready to admit you were wrong. -
Nope. Not happening.... A judge ruled Monday that San Jose State transgender women’s volleyball player Blaire Fleming will be allowed to play for the Spartans in the Mountain West Conference tournament as well as the remainder of the season. Federal Judge Kato Crews in Colorado, appointed by President Biden in January, denied a motion for injunctive relief in a lawsuit by college volleyball players against the conference, per OutKick. The news led to some backlash on social media, including women’s sports activist Riley Gaines.

My statement was more of a general point of view on why the reactions to trans people are what they are sometimes, and biological reactions to "the enemy." These are literally our lizard brain characteristics that won't go away despite hormones or whatever. Trans women don't suddenly lose aggression because they are now "female." It's still there. If you're in front of me wearing a dress and makeup, and then suddenly you Alpha Male it up because you're pissed, you're going to spread the illusion that trans people (namely trans women) are violent when it's suits them. It's a biological trait to incite fear in the others around you. Lions growl deeper. Monkeys and apes scream louder and show their teeth. Human males stand a little taller, puff out their chests a little, deepen their voice. I've seen other videos of where trans women do this when they feel they are being threatened. -
Girls' track and field athletes don't stand on podium next to trans athlete at Oregon state championship
TBayXXXVII replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
With abortion, I'm actually fine with making it legal... I just think that the woman killing her kid should have to pay for it. It's shouldn't be on the taxpayers dime. Her body, her choice right? Well, her choice, her money. Another big talking point by the left is that women struggle making this decision? Fine, let's either call their bluff or help. In order to get an abortion, a woman must be required to seek outpatient psychiatric care. AGAIN, another leftist talking point is how the financial burden on society if the woman is required to keep the child is far more than paying for the abortion. My argument is that if she's going through mental gymnastics over the decision and then dealing with it... it's far more beneficial for her to pay the couple thousands of dollars to take care of her mental health and abortion then the hundreds of thousands to raise the child. Personally, I'm against abortion. I don't think it should be legal. There are plenty of people out there who want to adopt an infant. There's people who will pay the mother for the expenses. Some insurance companies will cover some of those expenses on behalf of the adopting parents. There are other ways out than abortion. But, if we're making it legal, fine... you pay for it. You pay for the mental health help as the result. It's WAY cheaper than paying for the kid. Maybe... just maybe, more women will be more responsible in their decision making. As for the trans issue, let them play dress up all they want (if they're an adult), as long as they don't force society to play along. That's mainly what I mean when I say that the left should abandon their trans movement. Stop forcing and proposing legislation that requires society to play along in their delusion. If they TRUELY have a mental health issue, then that's fine, it can be dealt with... the thing is, those people aren't the problem. The social contagion is the problem. I'm willing to bet that 99% all trans people in this country are just going through a phase or are professional victims, have far leftist activist parents, or are just fock'ed in the head. Those with true gender dysphoria probably make up about 1% of this group. When laws, policy, and rules are made to cater to these people, it affects all of society, but 100% of all women and all times. Unlike abortion where it pretty much affect only certain age groups. Yes, all women go through that age group, but it's only 15% of their life. -

When you say "abandon the trans movement," do you mean men in women's sports, or trans folks altogether? I ask because progressives often push the false dichotomy of all or nothing. Sometimes successfully: you may recall the debate about gay marriage. Many conservatives were fine with it, but preferred to call it "civil union." Progressives insisted on calling it "marriage", and they ultimately won. To them, it isn't a victory unless it is 100%. Problem is, I don't see how they will ever get public mindshare of a lot of these trans topics: medically transing confused kids, men in women's sports, convicted male rapists in female prisons (yes, this is a real thing)... I mean sure, we may get a progressive SCOTUS majority some day which prioritizes woke ideology over biological reality and people's safety, but I can't see how the public at large will ever buy into it. Basically, I propose that we break the false dichotomy. I believe that we can support adults who want to present as the other sex in general, without allowing them into women's spaces. There are plenty of devils in the details, but I don't want to sidetrack this thread too much. -

Is The Current American Political Culture Dominated By Pro-Trans Extremism?
Blue Horseshoe posted a topic in The Geek Club
‘What is a woman?’ exposes the lunacy of pro-trans extremism What is a woman?....Conservative writer Matt Walsh has produced a documentary with the question as its title, hoping to get to the bottom of it....The film is a cross between Michael Moore’s 1989 documentary “Roger & Me,” where the filmmaker pursued General Motor’s CEO Roger Smith....Except Walsh’s subjects haven’t been tricked into anything. They really believe what they are saying. Dr. Michelle Forcier, a dean at Brown University medical school, refuses to concede that there is such a thing as reality and ends up talking about suicidal chickens when Walsh asks her whether we are assigning a gender to a chicken laying an egg. She’s not alone. Walsh leaves medical professionals arguing that Santa Claus is real because he is real to children and that what we believe is true is true even when it’s not....One therapist in Tennessee argues that she can’t answer “what a woman” is because she’s not a woman. The twist is that she clearly is a woman. I asked Walsh how he got these people to talk to him on the record. He told me, “They didn’t expect to be challenged. It is inconceivable to them that anyone would expect real answers.” One of the few medical professionals in the film.... is Dr. Miriam Grossman. She believes that some number of the population is indeed gender dysphoric and transgender, putting that number in the “1 in 30,000-110,000 range” — and says it’s important to separate those people, who have genuine, deep discomfort with their bodies, from the recent spike in pubescent kids suddenly coming out as genderfluid or trans. It makes no statistical sense if your middle schooler has three or five or 10 friends who’ve suddenly become gender nonbinary. The numbers don’t add up. ....Many us are “live and let live,” believing there is indeed a tiny segment of the population who are transgender; we’d happily let adults live however makes them happy. But the current moment simply won’t allow for that. You will be made to care and conform. And if you don’t like leftist gender ideology pushed on children, you’ll be deemed a bigot. The Biden administration removed the word “mother” from health agency communications in favor of “birthing person.” Women are being erased from culture. Medical professionals won’t definitively answer what a woman is.... https://nypost.com/2022/06/12/what-is-a-woman-exposes-the-lunacy-of-pro-trans-extremism/ "You are all child abusers. You prey upon impressionable children and indoctrinate them into your insane ideological cult, a cult which holds many fanatical views but none so deranged as the idea that boys are girls and girls are boys. By imposing this vile nonsense on students to the point even of forcing young girls to share locker rooms with boys, you deprive these kids of safety, of privacy, and of something more fundamental, too, which is truth. If education is not grounded in truth, then it is worthless, worse, it is poison. You are poison. You are predators. I can see why you try to stop us from speaking, you know that your ideas are indefensible, you silence the opposing side because you have no argument. You can only hide under your beds like pathetic little gutless cowards, hoping that we will shut up and go away. But we won’t. I promise you that." –Matt Walsh, addressing the Loudoun County School Board in the documentary, What Is a Woman? ****** I believe the LGBT community in America is very broad and diverse. That includes the transgender community. I don't believe all within the LGBT community in total are seeking to behave in an "extremist" manner. And I don't believe the entire LGBT community seeks to indoctrinate children. But just because the entire community is not doing it, it doesn't mean a large cross section of the radical leftist extremist elements of the LGBT community is somehow absolved of their actions and behavior. Matt Walsh points out something both chilling and honest at the same time - Some of the largest proponents of what amounts to pro-trans extremism never expected to be publicly challenged at all. And thus have no answers to give. Dr. Miriam Grossman points out that the explosion of "trendy" converts into the LGBT community are likely drowning out those who are often silent and truly struggling because because they aren't the loudest, the most extreme and the ones most incentivized to create a personal brand, platform or monetize their role in the LGBT community. I started this thread to have a running archive of what I consider to be "pro-trans extremism" in the current American political, social, medical, educational and cultural climate. -
