Watched with a bunch of family. My father and myself being the only Trump supports (more so anti liberal). Aside from the food the evening was terrible. Not only was the game shit, but as soon as they showed Trump, the groans and comments from the rest of the family began. I love my Aunt very much. We are very close, she's my godmother etc. but she is a classic TDSer. The rest of the game, I was counting the little snide comments she made about Trump. The pre game theatrics featuring black people.... "Trump must be loving this" .... the halftime show... even the commercial about breast cancer awareness, the same aunt, while pondering why mens health commercials show carrots instead of the actual pelvic region, slipped in a comment about Trump being orange. Everything finally came to a head when there was a commercial that I guess was promoting womens sports as being awesome and another Trump comment was made and a lengthy debate ensued about trans in women's sports, trans in general and eventually ended up in DEI stuff. That lasted close to an hour. Sure, I ended up getting involved in it but for focks sake I just want to enjoy my sports. Leave your non stop MSNBC and The View watching at home. It's the Super Bowl

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy - anyone tried it?
Tebok replied to TheNewGirl's topic in The Geek Club
You completely missed the point, bruh, but that's not surprising. My point is that mental illness among trans people is the product of growing up being exposed to the kind of hateful transphobia that you and others here obsesses over and relentlessly discuss daily. It's no different than mental illness among victims of child molestation or growing up in a violent home where daddy is a raging alchoholic who regularly beats mommy. Witnessing and/or experiencing physical and/or emotional abuse at an early age most definitely fooks up a kid who grows into an adult with mental problems. This is Pyschology 101. -
You can not be serious....you realize most of what they fund has nothing to do with what the money was appropriated for. Can you seriously look at the list of massive waste, fraud and abuse and not be outraged. You are a fuking clown. You love government propaganda and censorship. You think that is legal and a proper role of government. You think funding trans operations around the world is some kind of essential humanitarian aid. Get the fuk out of here.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy - anyone tried it?
Tebok replied to TheNewGirl's topic in The Geek Club
Is being trans the direct cause, or might it be growing up with trans hate all around, like we heavily have here, bruh? I imagine growing up hiding something because it's so widely despised takes its toll on a poor child's mental health. Imagine a trans child reading this forum and seeing all the unhealthy hate and obsession. No different from victims of pedophiles. You expect a kid whose dad molested them during their childhood to become a mentally fit adult with no issues? What a microcosm we have here, a bunch of angry middle-aged white men fearing trans, playing the discrimination card and acting like a bunch of sissy victims. Boo hoo. Man up, bruhs, and have some empathy and compassion. That's what real men do, even middle-aged white ones. -

I don't know any and don't think about them whilst going about my daily business, and then I stop by here and it's trans this and trans that. For fook's sake, there are 85 pages worth of trans mentions here, and that's not including the term "tranny." https://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/search/?q=trans Those who identify as trans represent 1.6 percent of the population, according to the Pew Research Center. Yet they take up 30 percent of the head space around here, with 30 percent Trump obsession and most of the rest a mix of DEI, Biden, Harris and other MAGA-fueled subjects. Weird. -

Yes, making sure those “10 trans athletes” got access to sport and locker rooms was so inconsequential, that Biden locked it in via EO on his second day in office. This is just example 1001 that you’re thinking is short sighted and moronic. -

1. I’ve always been for abortion decisions to be between a woman and her doctor without government interference. Yes it’s a core conviction. Whether the state should fund it is a separate question, depends on the circumstances, usually not, and not a core conviction. 2. I have always been for generally open immigration, never open borders. I am generally extremely sympathetic to non-violent undocumented immigrants who have been law-abiding once they arrived here, and I want them to stay and be given amnesty (with certain conditions). Yes these are core convictions. 3. The trans question is pretty new to me. I have no convictions about it except that the government needs to leave these folks alone to do what they want so long as they don’t harm anybody else. That’s basic libertarianism and it’s a core conviction. Every other question surrounding this issue changes for me depending on the circumstances. -
I find it hard to not see trans as mental illness...
jerryskids replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
Mostly good post, but a few things. I think you are lumping multiple things into "transgender." There are a very small number of people who have gender dysphoria. But there are also others who have autogynephilia (when a man is aroused by thinking of himself as a woman), drag queens like edjr's uncle, and unfortunately, confused kids who are told by peers and "authorities" that they are the other gender. And of course the men who pretend to be women to get into safe spaces (15% of "women" in prisons are trans women, that's a bit higher than the 1%-ish of the population!). Sticking with the true gender dysphoria, that is a mental illness, like the other items you listed. If your mind thinks you are a different gender than your body is, that is a mental illness. That is independent of if the cause is biological, chemical, etc. Like the other ones you listed. The question is what we do about it. For all of your other items, we have combinations of medicines and therapies to treat them. But the only "treatment" we have for trans is to... help them trans. Is that like helping someone be depressed? Sociopathic? It seems odd to treat an illness in this manner. -

You're absolutely right about the high percentage of them being despressed and having a high suicide rate, and I wonder how much of that is atributable to what they experience growing up in world of hate and transfobia. Imagine a 10-year-old child hearing what our president has said about trans people. A couple of the trans women I know have been homeless because their parents would not accept them and kicked them out of the house. One trans woman I know didn't come out until her early 20s and was blessed with growing up in a loving, accepting home. I know another couple whose pre-pubescent daughter believed herself to be a boy, and the parents trumpted that on social media, which I found rather digusting because it looked to me like they were more about being apart of something trendy. Let's see how the kid feels in five or more years, mmmm k? I don't think transgenderism is a choice. The transgender people I know don't like it that certain aspects of their culture are shoving it down people's throats, drawing a lot of negative attention. -

Just thinking out loud here... Do we have proof that body chemistry and trans are linked? I know that there is proof of other mental illnesses and body chemistry; too much of one or not enough of another, etc. they've taken MRIs of schizophrenic brains, brains where you can see what centers are active/underactive. Do we have the research and proof that gender dysphoria IS a brain chemistry thing? Just wondering. Gender dysphoria is the mental illness; transitioning is the "cure." However, are we taking into account those that desist or detrans? And if transitioning actually improves their life after? Upwards of 70% of them are still depressed, and they have an incredibly high suicide rate; even AFTER transitioning. That doesn't sound like much of a cure, at least in my non-doctoral opinion. -
I find it hard to not see trans as mental illness...
Sandy Loam replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
I do know a few trans women, and every one of them have believed they were women since they were very young. I think bodily chemistry has everything to do with the bulk of transgenderism as well as mental illness, such as bipolar disorder or being a sociopath on the extreme end. I'm sure there are plenty of forum members here who suffer from depression or other mental issues, which medication can help control. But I don't think transgenderism as whole is any more of a mental illness than how each of us identify ourselves genderwise. Completely different from the paranoid shizophreniac who hears voices in his head and kills and eats his mother. True story. He was found criminal insane and put into the nuthouse, where medication made him as normal as could be and sane enough to have a thoughtful interview with the media. But before he got put away, he went off his meds and killed his mom. The trans women I know have it hard, and a lot of the mental illnesses they have were the result of growing up confused, scared and seeing the world as a place in which trans people are despised, as they are here. Imagine growing up knowing you're different, listening to all the hatred and having to hide who you are. That's a recipe for mental illness right there. -
