I find it hard to not see trans as mental illness...
Tebok replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
With my company we have to do the good ol' harassment training course annually, and it's the scenarios they set up in there that are comical, particularly the gay and trans ones. The all-American men-harassing-women scenarios go something like this: John: Damn, Tanya, your teets look magnificant today, and you're ass is rocking like a Metallica concert. Tanya: Um, uh, thanks, I guess. John: Tanya, you wanna come over to my apartment tonight for some whiskey, fentanyl and butt sex? Man, I'll plow you old school like an 1800s farmer with a mule and a hoe. QUIZ WHAT SHOULD TANYA DO HERE? A.) Just chalk it up to John being John but politely decline. B.) Go over to John's apartment, because, hell, she hasn't been laid in years. C.) Do nothing. D.) Go rub the kitty in the women's restroom for some relief. E.) Report him to human resources immediately. -
I find it hard to not see trans as mental illness...
Mark Davis replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
What would a DNA test on a sample from a trans person tell you about their sex? We both know the answer but that’s the point. You’re asking me to believe an opinion and I’m choosing to believe what science tells us. I used the chromosome argument, I can use DNA as a substantive case, there is nothing other than someone’s feeling to counter it. -

Here are my own words: 1. I have no idea about BIID, having never heard of it before. But if the groups I cited, who are NOT POLITICAl, think it’s a mental disorder then it is. 2. Trans in not a mental disorder because the groups I cited says it isn’t. -

Two things: 1. I respect the attempt, not the best, but it's much better than most responses. 2. It's funny, just today at my company we had to take an HR e-learning module. 1 out of every 3 "scenarios" where they were talking about at work discrimination, bullying, things you should go to HR, etc. there was a Trans person as the main character. It's been the trendy, new and cool "marginalized" group the past few years and thus.....everywhere. No one is obsessed, they are just commenting on what's out there in the mainstream. Duh. -

No, I'm not wrong on that. They are absolutely, positively political advocacy groups. No amount of strong, mistaken words on your part changes that fact. Tell us in your own words why you think BIID is a mental disorder, but trans isn't. -

Fireballer replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
Tim, again, you obviously gobble up what “authoritative” sources tell you. These orgs do no research. All of their stances are rooted from a single tentacle…WPATH infiltrated academia. That’s it. ALL of the trans ideology is born from a single grain from the DSM that says it not a mental illness due to fear of societal “perception”. That’s it. That single statement based on feelings, and not research, has molded society over decades. Seriously dude, get out of your echo chamber. -

All of these groups are political, lobbying organizations. Scientific American has had nothing to do with science for years, we've discussed this. Use your own words to explain why you think BIID is different than trans. -

Florida teachers can discuss sexual orientation and gender ID under ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill settlement
squistion replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
What the settlement does: https://eqfl.org/historic-settlement-achieved-challenge-floridas-dont-say-gay-or-trans-law Historic Settlement Achieved in Challenge to Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay or Trans” Law TALLAHASSEE, FL — Equality Florida celebrates a landmark achievement in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Florida by announcing a historic settlement in the challenge against the "Don't Say Gay or Trans" law. This settlement, reached with the Florida State Board of Education, Florida Department of Education, and various school districts, embodies the bravery of over a dozen parents, students, and teachers, along with the steadfast commitment of our allies at Family Equality. This agreement successfully dismantles the most harmful impacts of the law, ensuring it cannot be wielded as a tool of discrimination against LGBTQ+ students, educators, and families. The settlement secures several critical protections and clarifications, including: Free Expression Restored: Students and teachers can now speak and write freely about sexual orientation and gender identity in classroom participation and assignments. Anti-Bullying Protections Strengthened: The settlement reinforces safeguards against bullying based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Gay-Straight Alliances Protected: GSAs are officially protected, providing students with essential support and advocacy spaces. Classroom References Clarified: The law cannot prohibit references to LGBTQ+ individuals, relationships, families, or topics in any educational or extracurricular context. Non-Discrimination Assured: Targeting LGBTQ+ persons, couples, families, or issues under the guise of this law is explicitly forbidden. Extracurricular Activities Protected: Participation in and support of LGBTQ+ student clubs and cultural presentations remain unaffected. -
In some ways yes. Most of it I can live with with even if I disagree. But I have a huge problem with the way undocumented people are being persecuted. I think there is a bigotry, fear and ugliness out there currently that is very much un-American IMO. Same with how trans folks are being treated though that’s a much smaller group of people.

Maine sports governing body says trans athletes can still compete in women's sports despite Trump order
The Real timschochet replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
I agree that trans women should not be allowed to compete. However I also think that Trump doesn’t have the authority to decide this issue. -
Because Elon is not a civil servant nor is he elected. Has never shown any interest in helping anyone but himself. He's the richest man in the world and wants to become richer. He gets rich off government contracts so having him nosing around and stealing government data only invites corruption and conflict of interest. Because he's not a serious person, he's all about the memes and 3rd grade humor. He gives nazi salutes, posts nazi memes, supports the nazi party in Germany. He's a weird dude who is obsessed with the letter X to the point where he named one of his kids X. He disowned another kid for being trans. He's got close ties to China. He lies all the time. Fake hair. That's for starters.

All I need to see is what's happening right now. Democrats are absolutely furious... NOT at the actual programs being targets (i.e., trans operas and such), but the groups (i.e. USAID). This tells me that they don't care where the actual money is going, but how it's getting there. It tells me that there's even more than what we know about. I also see the Republicans very quiet. If they were on the side of stopping this, they'd be all gung ho in criticizing and pointing specific bills and whatnot, that had ear marks they don't like. But they're mum. That tells me that they're just as guilty.

Why did the deep state target the liberals as their ally?
Frozenbeernuts replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
It is an extremely easy example to point to when talking about how the left has lost its mind. Thinking that it's ok for a man to shake his junk in a kids face just because he is dressed like a woman is insanity. It's obvious to anyone with common sense that the trans movement and sports gender issue are all about funneling society into agreeing that children should be allowed to decide at what age they have sex. Liberals in the 90s would have never stood for this stuff. Now they defend the most insane crap that you could imagine. Why? Because of the reasons I mentioned in the op. -

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy - anyone tried it?
Tebok replied to TheNewGirl's topic in The Geek Club
You completely missed the point, bruh, but that's not surprising. My point is that mental illness among trans people is the product of growing up being exposed to the kind of hateful transphobia that you and others here obsesses over and relentlessly discuss daily. It's no different than mental illness among victims of child molestation or growing up in a violent home where daddy is a raging alchoholic who regularly beats mommy. Witnessing and/or experiencing physical and/or emotional abuse at an early age most definitely fooks up a kid who grows into an adult with mental problems. This is Pyschology 101. -
You can not be serious....you realize most of what they fund has nothing to do with what the money was appropriated for. Can you seriously look at the list of massive waste, fraud and abuse and not be outraged. You are a fuking clown. You love government propaganda and censorship. You think that is legal and a proper role of government. You think funding trans operations around the world is some kind of essential humanitarian aid. Get the fuk out of here.

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)
Fireballer replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
This is misleading. Generally speaking, polls about banning nearly anything will show a majority of people don’t like total bans. There a bigly number of polls that say a majority of people don’t buy into the trans ideology. They don’t think you can change your gender and they don’t want this garbage in schools. Bans on procedures vs acceptance of trans ideology are two entirely different things. -

NCAA President Charlie Baker said out of 500,000 student athletes he knows of less than 10 trans. Hopefully we can put this issue to rest now.
