Savage Beast 1 Posted March 17, 2006 lol I get dallas shiznit around here and it's not at JCP! dunno what you're talkin about In Ohio? Why not buy Browns or Bengals gear, is it because of their combined zero Super Bowl trophies? The Ohio residents might as well jump on the Cowboy's bandwagon, because Ohio will never have a Super Bowl championship team.
ROCKET 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Yeah JCP, that's why. The Saints and Cardinals must have deals with JCP too as I don't see their stuff worn either.
Mr. Landry 35 Posted March 18, 2006 I respectfully disagree. He cited a source and the source wasn't ambiguous on the matter. They said TO was signed.....it was a Texas media outlet...not some internet blogger. At the time this was posted, there was nothing contrary on the subject and then later Fox Sports also stated the signing to be true (see above). This poster did nothing wrong. Thank you, Fumbleweed. Actually the point wasn't that he posted a "rumor"....people do that all time and this TO story was hardly breaking news at that point. EVERYONE was reporting that Dallas was the clear front runner to sign TO. The issue is that he came in with this " Joe Bryant at Football Gays says that......" like Bryant or any of those other dorks have any "inside" information that the rest of us don't. If he just said, Rumor is TO is going to Dallas, no problem but when you start butt kissing a clown like Bryant and saying it is confirmed because of his "inside information", people are going to call you on it. Peace..... Re-read my post. I never quoted your buddy Joe Bryant or anyone else at FBG. I merely sited them as the place where I found this information. My post was from the television station KLBK. The only place I mention FBG, which is hardly "butt-kissing", is in my last sentence. I didn't say "Rumor is TO is going to Dallas" because the site I found didn't report it as a rumor. A t.v. station reported it as fact. Me thinks thou doth complaineth about FBG too much....

Unlike bandwagon jumping fairweather fans like you, fans in Ohio back teams because they are true homers. Regardless of whether their teams win or lose. GettnHuge 2 Posted March 18, 2006 Funny I don't remember any superbowl trophies while I was growin up in the 80's. mostly I was taunted by my fam and friends who are bears, deadskin or pittsburgh fans. for an xmas present in 1985 I got the sports illustrated payton cover in a picture frame when the bears won 44-0. and fyi, Detroit is our local market. indianapolis, pittsburgh and cincinnati are all about the same distance from me. cleveland is almost 2 hours away. So I coulda picked any team back then, eh?

coachnorm 0 Posted March 18, 2006 Cowboys | Sources say Owens, team have reached agreement Fri, 17 Mar 2006 21:14:57 -0800 KFFL.com The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement in principle with free agent WR Terrell Owens (Eagles), according to two sources late Friday, March 17. The sources said a formal announcement is expected within the next few days. Maybe they had to wait for TO 's agent to get bailed out?

Savage Beast 1 Posted March 18, 2006 The press conference went great, except for TO's loud mouthed agent acting like a numb nuts. TO should get another agent who is not an a-hole, to help clear up his image some. The Cowboys just got the best playmaker in the league by signing TO. xWeaselx 0 Posted March 18, 2006 According to ESPN TO's contract can possible, based on incentives, make him the highest paid WR in NFL history. Most of the money here is bonuses. The base salary each season is around $5 million. Dallas can let Owens go after year one if he acts like a loon. In my opinion, that's pretty smart. The Risk: Owens doesn't change his ways and the team misses the playoffs, again. Owens is cut and sent on his merry way... The Reward: Dallas's Offense is much improved, giving them the playmaker they needed. They make the playoffs and are a contender for the Super Bowl. Yeah, I would take that gamble any day of the week........ If you look at all of the signings for Dallas so far, you have to agree that the offense is greatly improved.... Fabibi Kosier Hannam Owens The line is now better, they aquired a blocking TE to take Campbell's spot, and you have a playmaker in Owens. You also cannot argue the fact that now Bledsoe's and Julius Jones's value has now increased as well (fantasy wise).
KayJay1971 239 Posted March 18, 2006 As a Cowboys fan I am not too sure about this deal. I mean obviously he has a ton of talent but that is about the only positive thing I can say about the guy. I just would hate to see him dismantle the team with all of his antics. So am I happy we got him? Sure. Who wouldn't want that kind of talent. Am I scared this is going to blow up in our faces? Hell Yeah. I guesss time will tell. Oh and by the way I live in Cali and wear a Cowboys hat every day. I went to the Cowboys/Niners and Cowboys/Raiders games last year. At the Niner game I am pretty sure there was more Cowboys fans in the Stadium. At the Raiders game not so much. But they were there.

mdm_1971 0 Posted March 19, 2006 As a cowboys fan I love this deal!!!! T.O will open up lanes for J.J and the running game also allows room for T.Es and Glenn on the other side.... He will be all about the Cowboys this year after that is up in the air and that is why the contract is set up w/ roster bonus being the majority of his income otherwise the Boys are not going to miss out on that much..... T.O is one of those players you hate until he comes to your team just like deion sanders when the Boys signed him then he became a loved cowboy...... This is Great...... I want him on my fantasy team this year after that I am not sure but you know he will do whatever he can to show the Eagles UP!!!!!! I can not wait to play Philly this year

cowboyz 2 Posted March 19, 2006 Former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin, a good friend of Owens: "In order for the Cowboys to get where they need to get, they need a pure No. 1 receiver, and that's what this guy is. When Drew drops back three, five and seven (yards), he will get open. And the times he's not open, throw it anyway because he can still get it."

Miller_Time_21 0 Posted March 19, 2006 Ouch. At least McNabb gave TO one full season. Only 8 games isn't not going to be good for TO. Not good at all. Good luck with all that, Dallas. Assuming he does sign with them. Sounds like a perfect fit, afterall that is what TO will give them. Then when you need him the most he finds a way to pull a hammy, break a leg, or get kicked off the team!! These two will be the best first half of the season QB/WR combo EVAH in the NFL! DIZZY 0 Posted March 19, 2006 TO is certainly high risk, high reward. But, the Cowboys were smart in this deal. They almost certainly get one risk-free year for $10M and then wash their hands with TO, if they like. It probably wont happen like that...if TO acts up again I would see it sometime after this year and with the new CBA rules it's tough to get out of paying a player during the season. High risk/High reward. Jerry said it 50 times. There is no better team in the NFC then the Cowboys.

onejayhawk 3 Posted March 19, 2006 Personally, I think Terry Glenn is a better wr than meshawn.. he came up huge last year and has been solid the past few Agreed that Glenn was better last year. However, the Cowboys will badly miss KJ's downfield blocking. My take on this is that at worst the Cowboys have one good year before the MeO starts his scheist again. With some maturing on defense and some attention to the O-line, this could be the best team in the NFL. Or not. J Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. That's not ahead, that's realistic. Bear in mind it IS the weak conference, and then consider who the competition for best team consists of. Seattle gutted its offensive line. Atlanta and Carolina are solid, but not clearly better. TB may make waves, but still has to prove it. Phillie may be back, and the Capitalskins are decent, as are the defending division champs, but I would still go with the Cowboys in that race. What's left? Chicago? J

J They were 12th on D and 15th on O last year. These are inline with their slightly above mediocre 9-7 record. Owens is a possible game breaker addition, but not enough to bring them from non playoff to conference best. Seattle is still the class of the conference and Car, Chi and TB are better imo and the Gints and Washington are just as good if not better. The boys should be in the playoff picture, but are in no way the best in the NFC. The East will be a hella tough division this year. That alone will keep all the East records down a notch as they trade wins and losses.

D'ohmer Simpson 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Random thoughts of an Eagles fan about TO going to Dallas. 1. I don't really care that he went to Dallas, as far as rivalries are concerned. I'm just glad he's off of ours. 2. Dallas adds the best playmaker in the league to their roster. This in and of itself is bad for the Eagles, not only because they have to play them twice, but because they're in the same division. The Skins and Giants have to worry too. 3. I honestly think TO can play nice and if he keeps his word to Jerry about not letting him down could present real trouble for the Eagles, and any other team that plays Dallas, for the next few years. This leads me to my next point.... 4. I believe TO blows up oh, after the 7th or 8th game after having to deal with Bledsoe and Parcells. Bledsoe is not very mobile, and he's not any more accurate than McNabb was. Not only will TO get frustrated at the poor passes, he'll be frustrated when he's open but Bledsoe is on the ground. Parcells seems to be the kind of coach that wants things his way, and doesn't like any bullshite. It was the same way with Reid. TO can't stand being told what to do for too long. He probably won't cause the kinds of commotion he did last year, but it won't be pretty either. 5. It's pretty sad, for those Cowboy fans that got angered about TO's disgrace of the blue star, not once, not twice, but three times (the third being the little star in the endzone w/the Eagles), to openly welcome him now. So to TO I say good riddance. Eagle fans were very excited to have you, now we're very excited to see you go. To Dallas I say congrats for getting the best playmaker in the league, but I also say be weary. The honeymoon can end real fast and real ugly. Yes, it's 10AM, but it's time for a beer......... Cruzer 1,996 Posted March 20, 2006 If you think Keyshawns fit last year was bad wait until you see Terrell in action. KJ was a fantastic fit here last year and in fact has been nothing short of fantastic his entire time here.

Cruzer 1,996 Posted March 20, 2006 Is the DAL fanbase happy about this signing? I guess if my team signed him, I'd be hopeful but nervous... hopeful that he produced but nervous about how much crap he causes. This attitude pretty much sums up my opinion. I am very worried he may come in here and wreck the locker room and the team - but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. The Star incident never has been an issue with me - if we would have defended the endzone as much as we did the star we wouldn't be talking about this. Hopefully he'll behave, his contract is structured fantastically so that if it doesn't we can cut him and not take a hit. What really makes me mad is that we've all of the sudden changed our tune - if character issues are not really a concern, we should have drafted Moss when we had the chance. birdbrain3X 0 Posted March 22, 2006 KJ was a fantastic fit here last year and in fact has been nothing short of fantastic his entire time here. The difference between KJ and TO is this. KJ isn't half as good and isn't half the troublemaker. Marriuci tried to codle T.O. with bad results. My coach Reid tried to turn a blind eye to him. That didn't work either. Parcells will kick his arse(which is what he needs). The question is how will T.O. respond to Parcells in his face. This isn't just my opinion, Darren Woodsen said this on espn. Check out the press conference video again. T.O says" I can't wait to see how I get along with Parcells." Not coach Parcells or my new head coach or Bill. These 2 are going to get along like the North and South. KJ became one of Bill's guys in N.Y. Now he will have his greatest challenge with the biggest NFL headcase ever. Good Luck, we'll all be watching with interest.
