Vikings4ever 539 Posted April 4, 2006 NFL | L. White trying to keep covered Mon, 3 Apr 2006 18:34:44 -0700 Jason Cole, writing for NBCSports.com, reports USC RB LenDale White wore a loose-fitting warm-up suit during his Pro Day in an effort to not show much of his body. He drew audible groans from NFL scouts at the NFL Combine when he showed his chest. After seeing White at the NFL Combine, one NFL general manager said, "The guy needed a bra, it was ridiculous. You come to the combine looking like that and you want to be a first-round pick? Come on. The guy had obviously been doing nothing." KFFL.com I know there's already a White thread, but I just needed to give this a seperate thread.

murf74 461 Posted April 4, 2006 I highly doubt a GM would ever say that. Sources get exposed all the time, I don't think someone would risk it. If that ever got out, that just ain't right.

It definately doesn't sound like an official statement, but it does sound like an off the cuff remark that a reporter could have overheard.

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted April 4, 2006 maybe a scout didnt say it, but its very true..the guy is fat. I just saw his workout on the NFL Network and that was the first thing that came to mind. This guy does need a bra. He looked out of shape. He gained 6 pounds since the combine and does not appear to be taking this seriously. He has been reading his hype and has possibly dropped out of the first round with today's workout. He and his agent better get cracking or he will have lost first round dough

Let Da Big Dog Eat 40 Posted April 4, 2006 For White's and his agent's sake, I hope he meant a training bra.
Raider 84 29 Posted April 4, 2006 Ricky wore a wedding gown, so it is only fitting that Lendale wears a bra. Not only is he fat, he is weak and slow. He only benched 225 15 times compares to Bush's 24.

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon 0 Posted April 4, 2006 I always wonder if some teams talk to these guys and tell them to be a little out of shape at these workouts. A team like the Colts or Steelers could easily tell them he'd be their starter, and that he'd be on championship calibre team. Convince him its better than going to Minnesota and splitting time with 5 other RBs while being on a crappy team. Tell him they'd give him a shorter term deal so he could restructure quicker. Dunno...just a theory.

Stars 0 Posted April 4, 2006 doubtful...noway these players would agree to give up millions. Besides, what guarantee to the player that the team will select him? What's to stop them from saying this to others at the same time? I'd want something in writing, and the team couldn't give that.

Bad_Mo_focher 1 Posted April 4, 2006 Bettis is a fat bastard too. He didn't have a bad career. Maybe White has intentionally sabotaged his Pro Day so teams he doesn't want to take him pass....figures he'll sign for cheap with someone without being locked into a rookie deal and get paid big $ after showcasing his talents. That being said.....how big are his areolas?
Zackattack 0 Posted April 4, 2006 So he gets a breast reduction job. he lives in South California that must be easy. Let's think of some good fat running backs. The Bus T.J. Duckett that's all i can think of for now.
slash 0 Posted April 4, 2006 you heard it here first... Lendale will be an nfl bust... I will be suprised if his career is more than the life of his rookie contract if that....

Another team in the mid-teens already has told White it plans on drafting him. this makes no sense. even if there' is a team who "says" they'll draft him at 20, why not try and impress and get drafted higher, get a bigger contract, with a bigger bonus? normally 1st round contracts are slotted in pay regardless of position, i.e. 1 gets paid more then 2, 2 gets paid more then 3, 3 gets paid more then 4, etc. and about these teams "promising" to sign a player, ask braylon edwards what he thinks of that, see how he'll respond (for those in the dark, according to edwards he said that the dolphins promised him they would draft him 2nd, and they skipped him and drafted ronnie brown instead. he then went to the browns). in other words, until your name is called, nothing is even remotely guaranteed with regards to the draft until tagliabue calls your name. Other side of the coin is any team who wants DeAngelo or Maroney will still be pimping LenDale hard to keep his value up. That type of false propaganda is a lot more logical and believable than a player sabatoging potential earnings for a promise to be on a team that was better last year in a league filled with parity and teams capable of going from worst to first in their division in a year.
