Video Game Coffee Talk

Recommended Posts

We'll have coffee, we'll talk about video games.

No big whoop.

Tomb Raider Legend (360): Played the 360 demo. It's very very good. Not gonna buy the game. Maybe for Christmas or something on the cheap.

Battlefield II (360): Should be in stores Wed. Can't wait.

The Xbox 360 is overpriced.

Microsoft is selling it at a loss.

Doosh.

I bought a game called Eternal Darkness for 10 bucks. Played for about an hour, didn't realize I had to save it myself and died, so now I have to start all over.

i think I'm going to put that on hold and start Metroid Prime. Supposed to be a great game (got it for 6 bucks used - woo hoo!)

waiting for PS 3

A system which will be much more expensive than the 360, come out a year later, and may not be any better.

Good luck with that.

Still is overpriced even if they are selling it at a loss...

finished Half Life 2 a couple of weeks ago... playing through GTA: San Andreas right now. I'm nearing the end of San Fierro and will be onto the final city here shortly. I think I'll have it finished by the end of next week. If that's the case, I'll move onto Indigo Prophecy which someone bought me (heard it's very short, though).

After that, XBox 360 with Tom Clancy. That'll probably hold me over until NCAA 2007

Anybody want to offer tips for clearing the last part of European Assault, where the nemesis is above you with the machine gun and the Krauts come pouring down the wall? I've been stuck there forever.

Come on, EBGames, call me!

I know Battlefield II is in! Don't tease me like this!

Also played some GRAW online last night. Good fun if you can get people you know together.

Both the coop and team vs. team games are fun. Captured 2 flags myself.

After my PS2 died, I've been restricted to PC games. They're different, but cool. I'm still a big fan of Guild Wars and Madden runs smooth on my computer.

I miss NCAA06 on my PS2 though. I had it for 3 weeks before the system blew.

It's such a better football game than Madden.

RTS or FPS?

FPS.

I played it until 3 in the morning.

It actually has a very challenging single player campaign, which is newly beefed-up for the 360 version.

Gotta love running the option. OK State is my team.

Does anyone have a MLB game for PS2? I've got MLB 2004, but I can't change the number of games in a season. Do they really expect me to play all 162 regular season games? Seriously? I can't find any way to change that. Anyone else have that game?

I'm not even a baseball fan. I just like sports video games. I recently bought a used hockey game even though I'm not really much of a hockey fan.... after playing it twice, I already hate it.

My sad little video game collection:

Madden 2005 - Great Game!!! Can't wait for 2007.

Battlefield - Sucks balls. Nothing like the computer version.

Star Wars Battlefront II - GREAT GAME! Surprisingly great graphics - especially flying through space.

Real Fishing - Sucks. I don't think they can physically make a realistic fishing game.

GTA San Andreas - HELL YES!!!! All games should be this cool.

MLB 2004 - Unless you're a baseball fan... don't bother.

NHL 2005 - Uggh. Whatever happened to "Blades of Steel"?

Romance the Kingdoms III - lots of number crunching, no action. But it's addicting if you're into empire building.

Top Gun - I paid $4.99 for a used version. It's not even worth $0.99.

God of War - Widely recomended to me. I didn't care for it. Not a thinking game - just run around slashing monsters and bosses.

I know I'm forgetting some.

There should be no question that Battlefield II 360 is mankind's greatest achievement to date.

Played a lot of it this weekend.

And don't give me that "whaaa whaaaa it's not like the computer version" crap. You want the computer version, go play the computer version and STFU.

Also played some GRAW online with my cousin et al. That's fun, but just shootiing a rifle and tossing the occasional grenade gets monotonous after a while.

The other board said it would be Clinton Portis, but that was just hear say.

Don't they usually use the prior MVP? That would be Sean Alexander.

My guess would be Tomlinson, Alexander, or BOTH Mannings.

Portis? Blah.

ETA: Am I the only one registered on FFT that does NOT have some sort of video game player at home?!?!?
