Seriously though, I was just thinking about this the other day. I came in during a pretty huge boom in '01, around the time a lot of infamous posters (Rusty, for instance) but I don't think we'd be considered silver backs.

 

To me? a pre-2000 begin date, or a sub-1,000 member number.

I believe it has to do with Member #. Less than 10,000 for sure. I am not sure how low the number goes to the cut off point. Not sure why these posters were named for monkeys.

From all I know (admitedly not too much) silverbacks are those of us who originally came over from the first board and signed up when this board started in late '99, there is no "becomming a silverback." You either were here at the beginning and are one or you "found" us later and are not. There may another monikor for the great '01 population boom (like the boombacks) but more than likely the great booms are more truthfully called aliaibacks.
