President Bush

Recommended Posts

I think it's about time the President gets the credit he deserves. Since 9-11, how many terror plots

have been successful here? And how many terror plots have been stopped because of our supposed

privacy invading rights violating unconstitutional liberal hating security measures? plenty that we know

of and even more that we don't. Nothing like the previous 8 years where time after time we were attacked

and never responded.

Pretty much a win-win for GWB.

1) No terrorists attacks: "We're winning the war on terror!"

2) More terrorists attacks: "See? I TOLD you we were at war with terror!"

I'll give the military and gubment credit for making it harder for any attacks to occur and for breaking up some potential attacks, but it's prolly more because it takes a while to plan these things and we've seen over and over that we're probably not really any safer than we were before, what with all the holes in border security, at the ports etc. etc.

And the worst terrorist attack happened under his nose, so major demerits for that.

By this logic, Bush is no longer to blame for any terrorist attack if it happens the day after he leaves office? ;)

which actual terror plots did Bush's administration break up again? There have been several arrests, but which of them pointed to serious plots as opposed to misfits with big mouths?

how many were successful on 9/11? oops.

plus, the alleged plots are a joke. Jose Padilla, the dirty bomber, was never charged with what was alleged, but with unrealted charges to save face.

the terror cell in Lacakawanna NY, was a joke, watch the PBS special.

the "plot" to flood the holland tunnel? is the equivalent of me saying i will blowup earth and you putting me under citizens arrest and then boasting "i saved the world"

And this had noting to do with america as these planes would have been blown up before getting here. Let me guess, the bombings in the london subway system weret bush's fault, but he will take the credit for these arrests

Bush is a joke

I haven't heard much from Slick Willy lately...has he been busy looking for the real killers :pointstosky: of those who died

on the USS Cole? The 1993 world trade center bombers? The Riyadh bombing? The Khobar Towers? The embassy bombings?

Which one was it where he said that we need to do something about those terrorists? oh, lol all of them. But what did he do?

well according to D|ck Morris: he didn't do anything, he just hoped it would disappear.

Even Libya stuck it to us over Lockerbie...that was until this President Bush took charge. Then they admitted guilt, agreed to

compensation and disarmed.

Our soldiers are getting blown up by terrorists every focking day. Hth.

No see, that's all about context. For example:

When you want to justify the war in Iraq, you say: "But we're fighting TERRORISTS over there! I'd rather fight them THERE than HERE."

But:

When you're talking about successful terrorist attacks on Americans since GWB took office, - The 20,000+ dead and wounded (plus the various and sundry 'Daniel Pearl' type things) don't count.

- Fuzzy math, but math nonetheless.

Same (no) thing that Reagan did in Lebanon. 300 killed or wounded Marines. No focking response. Why? We had a Hizbollah bunker all lined up, the planes in the air - and his buddy Kap Wienberger cancelled it - because he was afraid of what the arabs might think of us. A few months later, we slunk out of Lebanon with our tail between our legs. - And OBL quoted that example specifically after 9/11 as his basis for believing a big attack would cripple the American resolve.

- Still pixxes me off.

When I read the title of the thread, I thought that Bush resigned. That was the only plausible reason to thank him.

I also love how the "conservatives" here rip Clinton for doing nothing about the attempted '93 bombing of the WTC, but it's totally OK that al Qaida blew up the towers and killed 3,000 on Bush's watch and our fearless President says he doesn't care much where bin Laden is.

Great job Bush, you really showed them.

It's not even true that he did nothing. The people responsible were tried and convicted.

And let's not forget that Bush did nothing about the Cole bombing, which was passed on to him with full reports on who had carried it out--al Qaeda. The attack was in October, Bush won in November, the brief was prepared in December and given to the President-elect's team, and it was summarily ignored. "Not our problem," was the response. At the ABSOLUTE minimum, it should have snapped Bush to attention when chatter skyrocketed the following summer.

there were no terrosits in Iraq until we invaded. Saddam had no WMD and was isolated.

a saddam Iraq is better than today's Iraq. Just imagine if those soliders were embreyos. they would all be saved :dunno:

I assume that poll did not include the people killed recently, right?

J/K - Saying that things were better under Saddam is stupid. Things may have been more orderly, but not better. That order was achieved via oppression. However, I am not sure that the price that we have had to pay for their "freedom" is worth it, nor am I convinced that the "freedom" is permanent.

I agree. We should thank the British considering they were the ones that caught the terrorists. How Bush can get a thank you for this latest item, I have no idea.

Will we be bombing Britain soon? Since they apparently were living in England, we should fight them there so we don't have to fight them here, once they arrive on the Concorde.
