football_scooter 0 Posted December 6, 2006 Congrats...I have a family member who struggled with alcohol abuse for about a decade before cleaning up their act, so I know 1st hand how damaging it can be to those around you. Fortunately, I didn't inherit the sickness - I am very good at moderation. Occasionally I choose to get plastered, but it's generally only when walking somewhere. Of course last weekend I had a close call...had my house been 1 block further away I might have passed out on the sidewalk. I remember taking my dog out for a piss, then have no recollection of anything after that. I woke up at 04:30 on top of my covers without a shirt on, freezing as my heater was off. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Anyway, congratulations - if you're someone who shouldn't be drinking then I'm glad to hear you aren't - it's also a nice change to see a topic like this where the author isn't a preachy d0uchebag.
