Catch-22 Desmond coaxes Charlie, Hurley and Jin on a trek across the jungle; Kate turns to Sawyer after seeing Jack alone with Juliet.

Desmond episodes usually kick ass.

Wish they would show more of whats going on with Locke and Ben ! !

The whole Juliet / Jack / Kate thing is already getting old unless of course they have a nice x rated threesome !

Part of what has been enjoyable with this show all along what the unpredictability of the plot. However, that was ruined for me last week when they confirmed in the final scene that Juliette is indeed still an Other. I had told my wife up fron that it was a scam and there was no way she was left behind. If a dolt like myself can see what's coming, the show doesn't have much to offer.

Looks like they are rerunning last week's episode before this week's fresh episode.

Stupid flashforward by Desmond. I thought it would have been awesome if they whacked Charlie.

To be fair, Charlie is pretty much a moron. But, yeah, if you step on a wire and nothing happens, prolly best not to move a facking muscle.

Sorta messed up.....that thing being there like that

So what do we say?

I think that Desmond will get in the way of the dart that kills Charlie and take it.

My wife thinks that Desmond will let Charlie die so that he can get back to his girlfriend.

What say ye?

I think so too.

When Desmond turns his robe in, there's a picture with the monk and a woman. I think the woman is the same one that acted as his "guide" a few episodes back.

Thoughts on 4-18 episode.

Interesting analogy by Desmond on his flashe. He said it's like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, without seeing the "box" it came in.

Sawyer coming through: You want me to make you a mix tape? You two busy discussing who is your favorite Other?

Looks like you can reach the island now, with the Swan hatch gone. Penny sent this parachutist to find Desmond obviously. The question is now how soon until more people start to arrive.

The picture on the monk's desk, when Desmond was turning in his uniform, was the old lady from the ring shop in Desmond's previous flashback a couple weeks ago. I had to rewind the tape to doublecheck.

Charlie will not die, and Juliette will betray Ben and the Others. The writers keep teasing us with obvious plot developments, then love to zig zag with the unexpected. Since they delibrately showed Juliette scheming with Ben, she will stay loyal to the Losties on the beach. Of course, this sucks, since I was looking forward to yet another woman dumping Jack. And they keep teasing Charlie dying. Since he didn't die in an obvious situation tonight, he will be around for a long time.

Yeah, the ten words you typed beat my lengthy analysis by a minute. B)

Kate is nice. I still believe Juliette is hotter; witness the semi-naked in bed shots from last week.

And who knows? Maybe this woman who looks like Sanjaya that fell from the sky might be hotter once she strips down.

Yeah...I've been saying for awhile that Charlie won't die. If anything, I think we'll eventually see Desmond sacrifice himself to save Charlie (and subsequently, break the destiny of Charlie dying on the island...if that makes sense...).

After all, the writers have set Desmond up as a sacrificial character. He kept pushing the hatch-button in order to save the world...he turned the fail-safe key to save the world...he left Penny and eventually found his way to the island (because the weird old lady said that he had to do it to save the world). Even tonight, in Desmond's story, there were several allusions to sacrifice -- i.e. Abraham & Isaac. And Charlie flat-out asked him about sacrifice.

Also...did anyone catch Jack's line to Kate??? She said that she felt weird not having to worry about something bad happening. Jack's response was that something bad would happen soon. He said it in kind of a joking-manner; however, I wonder if it's not a subtle hint. We know that there's a big twist coming at the end of this season. What if it's NOT Juliette who is working with the Others??? What if it's Jack who is working with the Others??? That would be a mind fock...and a great season-ending cliffhanger...

I agree that Jack could very well be a spy. Hell, I think it's very possible that multiple people will switch sides. Reshuffling the deck. With Locke being a neutral.

I think that they will make Juliette betray the losties but then feel bad and she will betray the Others to help the losties get out of whatever the predicament. Then everyone will feel betrayed by her. One of the losties, maybe Kate will forgive her first but I don't think it will be Jack.

Another thought or two.

As we discussed weeks ago, it seems like Desmond is living some kind of loop in time, and is reliving the same period in time. So far, he has saved Charlie's life 4 times, so it's been at least 4 loops so far. You have to wonder how his choices, like saving Charlie, are affecting everything else around him, a ripple effect as a stone being tossed into a still pond. Did saving Charlie cause Penny to disappear and for this parachutist to appear in her place? I am not saying that this black woman is now Penny, but she is a friend/employee of Penny who swapped positions with her on this planet because Charlie did not die. The island's magic box. And is Desmond passing or failing the islands tests. While he saved the island with the failsafe key, he is also keeping Charlie alive. Something has to give.

Kate is probably gonna sleep with every male on the island to spite Jack. Next week, she humps Hurley and the viewers get clear shots of a shirtless Hugo. Two weeks from now, she digs up Paulo and has her way with him. If I were Vincent, I'd be nervous right about now.

I am starting to think that it might not be so much a time loop as preminitions. Desmond doesn't seem to be sure about that himself. I think the proof was this last episode where he was certain it would be is girl who parachuted, but it was someone else. OR.....perhaps saving Charlie (which was ever so dumb) changed the timeline....

The parachutist was black? :dunno: I thought she looked Indian or Middle Eastern. :(

Also, I'm getting a bit nervous about my life. I was watching Lost with my wife last night and when the parachutist came down and it wasn't Penny, I said to my wife...."I wonder what Phillybear will have to say about that?" She was like...."Who"? When I went to explain....I began to trail off, realizing how I need to get a life. :first:

It means he has a lame tatoo.

Splitting hairs with time loop vs preminitions. I guess there is some similarities, some differences. But being that he keeps saving Charlie, and that during the hatch explosion he seemingly went back in time to see Penny, I am of the thought that time travel is happening. Plus, don't forget, the brainwashing of Karl film played backwards yielded the message: "only fools are enslaved by time and space", over and over again, in a loop you might say. So is Desmond seeing the future, or looping into the past. Ultimately, either one refers to time. But time and space is more of a time travel loop kind of activitiy. I'm afraid to re-read this paragraph and confuse the fock out of myself.

I read a little bit about her after the episode. She is supposed to be black and was on a show called Las Vegas or something like that. In fact, I read where there was debate if her picture was on Ben's desk last week during a Juliet flashback. Very curious.

Your obsession with my musings is understandable. I'm a genius and a retard. It's fascinating.

I laughed out loud at that part.

people could always reach the island. remember the food drops? But here's a thought. The island has an electromagnetic field around it. the only way to get to it is to go under or way above it. It looked as if that chick was wearing a high altitude uniform. I also think she's working with Penny.

Yes, the food drops, which is interesting. Which also had a light beacon. I was always under the impression that getting to the island was difficult, in that it was "hidden" partly because of the electromagnetism, and party due to time issues on the island. Unless someone accidently stumbles upon the island, like the Black Rock ship, Rousseau and her crew, Desmond, Henry Gale, Flight 815, etc. Except for the sub that the Others use, there was no way on and off the island on purpose. Just accident, or when an "incident" happened like Desmond not pushing the button and the plane crash happened. But this time, this Naomi character reached the island on purpose, to find Desmond. And that is the first time we have seen that happen. Looking for the island, and actually finding it. The field is either weakened or completely gone due to the explosion of the Swan hatch. This had also ruined the communication at the Flame hatch. Circling back to the food drops, this doesn't neatly fit into my scenario. However, would it be really that weird if the food came from somewhere else other that from a plane, like, say, from below the island. It was brought to the surface and left there. It's possible.

I was thinking how Desmond mentioned that Penny would never give up the search once she engaged it, and then I thought what if Michael managed to get off the island, and she found HIM, and then she was somehow able to locate the thing  :D
