Patriots will Go 16-0 and then win the Superbowl.

Recommended Posts

No doubt about it.

They have sick talent on both sides of the ball and hideous speed at WR and TE.

Brady won 3 SB titles with pedestrian talent at WR, now he has 2 guys who run a sub 4.30 time in the forty. Maybe the two fastest guys in the league. a total steal and Moss will be paid half as much as the top picks in this years draft.

look for Junior Seau to sign in the month or two as the backup to Bruschi/Vrabel inside...that should complete the roster.

16-0 !!!

 Tru dat Brudda!

Don't forget people we get San Francisco's 1st round pick! That's just unfair.

Has this been confirmed? When the penalty was first handed down, I remember there being talk of whether the Pats were docked 'a 1st round pick' vs 'their 1st round pick' in the 2008 draft. I hadn't heard any official clarification, and it's a pretty big distinction. It will mean the difference between a likely top-12 pick and no better than 29th overall pick.

They forfeited their own pick and keep San Fran's which if the season ended today would give them the #5 pick.

Anybody remember what Dungy did to St. Louis and that "great" offense in the NFCC back in 1999 when the Rams won it all, back when the Rams offense was supposed to be unstoppable?

The Colts know Brady so well.

I kind of think something similar will happen here. I am starting Stallworth because who knows what happens, but I think this game goes 28-24 Colts.

Yes it's confirmed Boston is correct.

If Reche catches that ball we go up 7. Indy scores to tie it and we win on a FG. Not having Deion hurt our team all year.

But he's gone now so who cares? We had an excellent season last year, regrouped and came back better. I would prefer to have Randy, Deion, and Welker to Randy, Donte and Welker, nothing against Stallworth I'm just loyal to Pats players that won with us.

I wonder what position the Patriots go after next year? It has to be LB or DB? Who are the top 5 players cause we are getting a stud.

Great call but lets wait till they get it done. I cashed on a $50 bet on the 16 -0 but that was after week 2. It was obvious by then though.

For those Pats homers not paying attention the last few years, Moss sucks.

700/7 at best. Probably hurt by November 5th.

I predicted this sort of homerific gaga would happen back when the 1st rumors of Moss to the Pats circulated. Many Pats fans here HATED the thought of getting Moss. Where are they now?

Bold prediction: the Pats fan's love affair with Moss is short lived.

IMO this is a giant step back for the Pats run at another superbowl. Moss doesn't put any team over the top any more ...."past his prime" is a phrase that applies perfectly.

I just think that even with all of this being the case, this Randy Moss is not worth the headache. Even if he's a model citizen I don't think it'll be worth it. There's a good reason that no one wanted to pay anything more than a 4th round pick for him.

As for him taking the pay cut, you asked what it tells me? It tells me that his skills have diminished significantly enough that even Moss knows he's not worth anywhere near $9mm.

I'm also not a Pats hater. In some ways I am a Pats fan...went to a rival high school of Brady's, and rooted for them in the superbowl(s).

It is indeed a low risk medium reward scenario - I just think Moss is old and fragile now. The one time he went across the middle as a Raider, he took a hit that laid him out for a month+. After that I can't remember seeing him look anything like the Moss of old.

I don't think he's just lost a step - I think he's lost 5 or 10 steps making him a middle of the road WR.

But the 1400/17 TD Randy Moss is something for the history books. This is the 900/10 TD Moss, and that's with a great year from him playing 14 games.

That's actually very humorous.

As usual with this "former" poster

So arrogant So WRONG.

I hate the Pats but this thread reminds me of how much of a complete tool fbcooter wuz/is.

Anyways, nice call bigtuna. Pats going 19-0 is inevitable.

Letting Branch go for a 1st was the right move and not over-paying him was also correct. The mistake was not having a plan B for 2006. The Pats were left holding their johnson (no offence tj) with no reliable talent at WR and it ultimately cost them a shot at a 4th SB.

Using their stockpiled picks to bring in Moss and Welker a year later doesnt make up for the previous year's blunder, but did address the problem for this year.

So above where you state that they balance the present and future is somewhat inaccurate for 2006. They didnt balance the present with the Branch situation, they sacrificed it.

I Love ya Walter, but you make it sound as if giving a #2 and a #4 was a price to pay for a Hall of Famer record breaker and another Pro Bowl WR who is likely to catch 1000 balls over his career.

You can love Walter all you want, but you can't ever take his player eval seriously...this is the guy that was happy the Bears didn't take Brady Quinn because it would have left either Greise or Orton off the roster while "wasting" the pick 'cause of Grossman (), thought Moss was too expensive, and was arguing a few weeks ago that Kyle Orton=Joe Montana...

He might be entertaining, but you can't take him seriously!

What I like is how they throw Caldwell under the bus every time (and deservedly so), yet they still think trading Deion Branch was a good thing.

I think it was a good thing.

This is kind of a fun thread to wake up. Good prediction bigtuna.

They have a tough schedule? How do you think the other teams are going to feel looking at the Pats on their schedule?

Chalk it up as a loss!

The toughest game they have is in INDY...and the Pats will have far superior speed on offense this time on the carpet.

They will have added since that game in January:

Randy Moss

Wes Welker

Donte Stallworth

Rodney harrison

Eugene Wilson

Randall Gay

Brandon Meriwether

ADALUIS THOMAS

Think those guys are going to make a difference?????

Hell yes!

how right you were sir! And I would have to put the Giants game and BAL game where they were actually down in the contest and came back!

In fairness to the OP, he was pretty close to being right. I mean, he's closer than anyone who predicted a 12-4 season and a loss in the AFC Championship Game.

While you can rightly argue that the Patriots' season means nothing because they didn't win the one game they needed to win, I'm not sure that you need to run the table in terms of predictions to have credibility. For example, if you tried to pick the 12 playoff teams before the season and got 11 of them right, that would be pretty impressive.

I get the piling-on now - the OP is a huge Pats homer, so it's easy to criticize - I just don't think it's entirely justified.

I will give props to the tuna for making a bold prediction that damn near came true, and also thank god that the Pats lost.

You don't yet get the piling on.
