Some other guy can notice all he wants to. My wife and I only have a couple of rules we follow. Cheating, on both sides, is instant divorce. No questions. No explanations. No excuses. I know it. She knows it.

 

That being said, both of us are aware of the others attempts to "look good" for the other. She is almost exactly the same as when I married her. I have come to the realization that my discipline or desire to improve myself does not have to directly translate to her. I do what I do. She does what she does. Of course, if I see her sacrificing and working hard toward her looks, I will always give positive reinforcement and let her know I appreciate it just as she does when she sees me doing it. But in the overall scheme of our relationship, other than the extremes, it really isn't a big deal. I just want her to be happy.

I don't notice anymore, and I was taken aback. So I'll just say: notice those things, and don't sit back on "we're married and if we cheat we are done so who cares what we look like," which is how I interpreted it (right or wrong), and you'll be the better for it.
