ICEMAN 44 Posted June 12, 2007 the next pick is so obvious....and great value here. willie parker at #5...interesting.... I honestly don't think that Parker was that much of a reach. ICEMAN

Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 12, 2007 Parker was definitely not a reach based upon last year's stats alone. He finished top five. Problem is, he's got a new coach, new coordinator, and the rumblings of sharing the load with at least another back or two all around him. If I knew Tomlin would turn him loose and let him run at the goal line, he'd be my #6 RB....as is, I think he was taken too high here for my taste based upon the factors noted above....but it's all a matter of a person's personal rankings/projections. On a different note, leave it to our defending No-Hassle Champion to get a major steal at #8....kinda fell into that good fortune.

The Soloist 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I was really hoping Gore would be there at 5. So it came down to SA or Parker for me with Westbrook and Addai close behind. I just don't feel comfortable with SA right now. As far as the changes in Pittsburgh, I don't see those adversly affecting Parker but stranger things have happened. We'll see. I just don't feel comfortable with SA right now. As far as the changes in Pittsburgh, I don't see those adversly affecting Parker but stranger things have happened. We'll see. I really saw this pretty much the same way with Parker, Westbrook and Alexander. I would have done the same thing in your position, but I had to hope that the prevailing winds that have Parker at 1.07 would have applied and made my decision that much easier. But I share your hesitancy regarding Alexander, which was why I went with Westbrook.

FantasyKing 4 Posted June 12, 2007 Isn't Fantasy King one of our late riser types? I'm usually not - sorry for the hold up, on vacation this week and my son let me sleep til past 8:30 today which is rare. Sorry about that.
Captain Lou 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I'm usually not - sorry for the hold up, on vacation this week and my son let me sleep til past 8:30 today which is rare. Sorry about that. Not a big deal FKing, try and stick for the turn. Maroney was a solid pick there. Upside can be tremendous in this offense on a team with a quest.

You didn't hold us up hardly a minute. I was just thinking you said simething about being a late riser like V4E. No problem, and thanks for leaving me Rudi. I'm not slamming Maroney, but Rudi was my #6 back. I like the warm and fuzzy safeness he brings at pick 10.
gratefulted 14 Posted June 12, 2007 List sent to fumble & Lou, Thanks ...and Ray, I just don't go that way, sorry guy.
remote controller 143 Posted June 12, 2007 Henry!!! You devil you. I think he is solid at the 11 spot. I know he is a back that many have high, and many have low. The right pick here. I will explain the "devil" part shortly.

Yeah I like Rudi too, he is the safe pick - I'm used to playing in PPR leagues so I never seem to have Rudi on my squad. He is as consistent as it gets though, if Maroney can get 3/4 of what he and Dillon had combined then he is due for a great year though
Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 12, 2007 I have Teds turn pick Can you post ted's picks, please. I tried to and it doubled up with my previous posts. James is the pick, obviously.

NAn 39 Posted June 12, 2007 So far confirms my feeling before the Jetdoc mock...after the top3 it's a crapshoot thru the 1st rnd. Gore good as pick as any there at 4, and do like kid and improvements niners have made, just think they'll miss Turner a bit more than they expect. No prob with FWP at 5...nice safe pick IMO and even with changes in Pitt see him having another very solid year. Just seems like people are down on Alexander...of course pending 'foot situation', otherwise could be great at 5+...even before his record breaking season guy was good for 16-18tds a season. I'm warming up to Addai as having a big year...nice pick there. Still not sold on Westy mid-late 1st...he's awesome when he plays and has yet to play a full season. I took Maroney at 10 in jetdoc and like kid alot...thoughts on him here? Rudi is solid here. Jeez, Henry at 1.11....just not sold that he will definitely be the man and/or that Bell won't be in mix. Da Bomb 0 Posted June 12, 2007 my feelings from the first round... larry johnson - second time ive seen him not be #2. seems like people really are concerned. i dont really get it though, concerned enough to take sjax (whos not exactly been putting up mega awesome seasons) but not to drop him any further. hes not in my top 10. i want nothing to do with him. willie parker - definitely a reach in my opinion, because of passing on alexander especially and also addai. have to wonder if hes going to keep getting the TDs, cuz the yards are very hit or miss at times with him. dont mind him in the first, but not that high and not with the guys available. addai - love him, and think the 6 spot is the place to be this year because it guarantees you alexander or addai, two of my top 4. alexander - obviously steal of the draft. hes my #2 rb right now, and im going to have to really look closely at some stuff with him because i know how rbs have a bad history once they break the td record and then start to pile up injuries. i can see being hesistant with him at 2, 3, etc. but dropping to 8 imo is inexplicable. thats a shocker to me. henry - looks like hes going to be one of those late first / early secodn picks. yikes. the upside is obvious, but i just dont know how i feel about putting my draft in mike shanahan's hands. and the broncos are my SB favorite right now too, but im still just not sure. edge - love him, dont expect him to go in the first, but i like the pick. Da Bomb 0 Posted June 12, 2007 youre right, im not intending to bash the sjax pick. i just mean youre not exactly taking another lt2 or lj here. sjax was great last season, but he wasnt in the same atmosphere as either of those two (and not insinuating that lj was in lt's atmosphere either). wow, just to make sure i actually went to look at stats. i didnt do the math, but i bet they were almost even, sjax and lj. wow thats a crapload of yards. and plenty of TDs to go around. and that was with a depleted OL last year too. i take back what i said. sjax is very clearly the #2 pick... at least. time to really look into things with him. he may well end up benig the #1 guy on my boards by the start of the season. numbers.... SJax had a "quiet" monster season last year. I had him in a PPR league which put him close behind LT2. But if I didn't have him on mt roster, I probably would have overlooked his numbers a bit too going into this season. That being said he's definitely my #2.
