Rusty Syringes 479 Posted November 23, 2007 I've only seen one Redtodd clip but it was 100 times funnier than anything I've ever seen Dane Cook do. I think redtodd would be funnier without all the expletives. Just toss one in every now and then for effect, but otherwise let the material stand on its own. For me, it depends on the venue. I don't use swears all the time. The ones on youtube were filmed at an American Legion (I know, I am huge), they were drunk and trashy so they dig the swears. Tonight, I can't use any except maybe a "sh!t" here or there.

redtodd 7 Posted November 23, 2007 I like when he walks around in circles and laughs at his own jokes. I like how he repeats his set-ups over and over leading up to a punchline (if there even is one). Coincidently, he never did that until he did Tourgasm with Gary Gulman who does the repeating set-up thing too.
CantTouchThis 23 Posted November 23, 2007 Are you kidding me?? Dane Cook is the funniest stand up out there today, to not think he is hilarious would take a soul as black as the ace of spades...

TylerRoseFan 16 Posted November 23, 2007 Also, and I'm sure redtodd can verify this, there are some un-focking-believably funny comedians out there that none of us have ever heard off.

CantTouchThis 23 Posted November 23, 2007 There's a lot to be said for someone who....oh forget it. You just don't know comedy. No, it's because i am a college student and college students think of Dane Cook as a demi-God basically, along with a lot of comedy central type of comedians.... redtodd 7 Posted November 24, 2007 You're right, he sucks. I thought he was a riot in the 90's. I even paid to see him in perform in person. I really listen to a lot of stuff now with a straight face. He is really not that funny anymore. Sorry. He is the boy-band of comedy. There are a ton out there better than him. redtodd 7 Posted November 24, 2007 Also, and I'm sure redtodd can verify this, there are some un-focking-believably funny comedians out there that none of us have ever heard off. Definitely. There are guys in Boston that used to make me cry (even when I saw them for the 3rd or 4th time doing the same stuff) that you will not see on TV. Plus comedy is so much better in person than on TV, DVD or CD. If you think someone if funny that you see on TV, they are 10x funnier in person.

Joey Gladstone 33 Posted November 24, 2007 Louis Ck and Brian Regan are the funniest comics around, and have been around for a long time. Carlin is still great for being in his 70's. Jamie Foxx and Jim Gaffigan are pretty damn funny as well. Nick Swardson is funny despite being one of Adam Sandler's cronies. Dane Cook's standup sucks as bad as his movies. Go onto Youtube and look up how he has ripped off some of Louis CK's earlier material. Dave Coulier!
lambert58 74 Posted November 24, 2007 I will back off on Foxworthy but I saw Carrington live here in Fort Smith. The dude is funny as hell. His standup routine is downright hilarious. Don't get caught up on all of the songs like t1tties and beer or dear pen1s... Good solid material. Gaffigan is funny as hell also. Can't believe I forgot about him. Joey Gladstone 33 Posted November 24, 2007 I'll give Carrington decent props. I hate most redneck comics (I despise the blue collar crew) but other then his lame songs, Carrington is fairly funny. A lot funnier then Dane Cook for sure.

I didnt realize that you had a clip on youtube..here comes the kiss of death but the garage sales clip funny as hell..and true..i like the fact that u just keep going and still interact with the crowd..good stuff how do u deal with that one guy who wants to yell during a show?...you know..the one who tries to be part of the show..are u looking for some interacting or does that piss you off?..i would think it would mess u up if u were on a roll... i went to see chelsea handler last month(i dig her ) and everytime she said a topic..this drunk guy would go WOOP! YEAH!!..as if that all pertained to him... look at meeeeeeeeee she would stop herself..and say something to him like, yeah..all right buddy..and move on..when she replied to him, he wouldnt respond..dumbass.. anyway....i thought the clip was gold.... and i too, like lewis black... chelsea.. i admit, i laugh at dennis millers stand up also.. bob saget is way too dirty but i laugh..so if i laugh at THAT...redtodds stuff isnt gonna bother me... i think jay mohrs an idiot..but oddly enough..he makes me laugh on the jim rome show... the redneck people dont make me laugh... and i dont understand the fascination with dane cook..
