Matt Leinart living the good life

Recommended Posts

Bottom line: If you're getting it done on the field, your teammates will not care a whole lot about what you're doing off of it (relatively speaking).

But, if you're not, your behavior is scrutinized to see what might be preventing you from doing well. Leinart is getting paid a lot of money and expectations are high.

I think a starting nfl single pretty boy qb deserves a few hot tub hotties in the offseason :overhead: - - Better than hitting them in the face and throwing them out the front door :ninja:

He hasn't had a chance to 'get it done on the field.'

Leinart had a very impressive rookie season, then the new coaching staff forced him into a garbage QBBC with Kurt Warner - which wouldn't be good for any young QB. He then was injured, which ended his second season.

If you compare Leinart's rookie season stats to other QBs in their rookie season, I'm pretty confident that he would look very good statistically, compared against most others.

He didn't get a fair shake last year with the new coaching staff, because they weren't the admin. that picked him - but it wasn't right. Playing him last year, would have been the best thing for him, and for the long term of the team. It didn't do anything but hinder his growth, and possibly screw with his confidence.

I agree with much of what you said. Understand my comments were fairly generic and not intended to necesarily be only about Leinart. Just about how off-field stuff is perceived in a general sense.

After seeing Internet photos of Matt Leinart partying last weekend at his Arizona home, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said he was "disappointed" in his quarterback.

Among the four photos splashed across Web sites thedirty.com and TMZ.com over the weekend, Leinart was shown assisting a co-ed drinking from a beer bong in one and sharing a hot tub with four women in another. The photos ran on SportsCenter on Tuesday.

"Matt called me Monday morning and we spoke for a while," Whisenhunt said in a statement. "I reiterated to him the type of behavior that we expect at all times from our players. He understands that as well as the level of scrutiny that he's under because of who he is. It's being handled internally.

"I was disappointed but at the same time have no doubts about his commitment to this football team or his ability to lead it."

This really pisses me off actually. The dude was at his own house, the girls (as far as we know) were legal, it's the weekend. He's at lease FIVE MONTHS away from the regular season. Most teams have barely even started their Voluntary Training Programs. I mean for fock's sake. With all the bad shiit that we see being perpetrated, THIS disappoints Wisenhunt? Why don't you spend a little more time being "disappointed" at your moronic front office?

The kid's 24 years old. He broke his focking collarbone playing for you. He's doing NOTHING illegal or immoral AT HIS OWN HOME ON A WEEKEND IN THE OFFSEASON. What the fock is the problem??

Meanwhile, we have Rooney excusing his player for beating his GF "because he did it for the right reasons".

Geebus....

Valid points, and it's not like he was on the receiving end of the beer bong, he was just holding it (if we're only going from the pics). I don't see how this is any worse than a shaggy Kyle Orton with a bottle of Jack in hand looking like he's going to vomit/pass out/all of the above.

 :overhead: :o

If he really wants to get on the Cardinals good side, Maybe he'll find Brenda Warner a suitable MILF for himself....that would make for quite a drama in the desert.

The problem is it went public. It's not illegal to take dumps in your house either but I'm sure Whisenhunt would have been just as upset had pictures of Leinart been leaked while he was on the throne too. It's all about image.

heaven help him if any paternity suits arise from this party. shame that players cannot enjoy some fun during the off season w/o people getting bent out of shape.

Assuming that it is Jenteal (if it isn't the girl is a dead ringer), my guess is that the she probably has a new video out and figured this would be an easy way to boost sales. It probably didn't take much for her to get herself invited to one of Matt Leinart's beer and jacuzzi shindigs.

At this point she gets one of her girlie friends that she brought along with her to take a few photos with her flashing those pearly whites (innuendo intended) with Matt and company in the tub. They then sell the photos, and get publicity for her video to her target audience (male football fans)! Brilliant!

By the time Leinart adds all this up, somewhere in the background, a U2 song is playing....."she moves in Mysterious Ways"!

In closing, I would like to add, that in no way shape or form, did I receive any benefits for my take on this. However, should Ms. Jenteal feel the need to do so, I would be willing to work something out in trade.

I think people are missing the point. No one expects Leinart to live like a Priest in the offseason. The problem is poor decision making on his part for allowing the pictures to be taken and NOT expecting them to go public. Poor decision making. Can the Cards trust his decision making in the fourth quarter of a tied game? Not so sure. If you're gonna party with young hot chicks like he did, don't have pictures taken so it can slapped all over the internet.

I disagree. It's the offseason. As long as he's not doing anything illegal what's the problem?

Does your boss have the right to punish or publically criticize you for what you do in your free time?

He's a young, famous, wealthy, horny kid. What do they expect? For him to be sitting at home studying the playbook 24/7?

If you look at the chart in the middle of this article, you'll see he compares favorably to some of the all-time greats during their rookie years:

While I do agree (about it going public), Whis must remember we now live in the internet age and its so easy for stuff like this to get out. I'll bet throughout NFL history a large percentage of star QBs were in hot tubs or drinking with some beautiful women. Many of them were probably married guys as well. There wasn't the media (and certainly not the interent) then so it was just stories.

This is much ado about nothing. I'm not famous athlete and I did the same thing when I was in my early to mid-twenties. Most have. If the worst thing that comes out about Leinart is that he got drunk in the offseason while trying to nail some hotties I'd say that's pretty good.

Damn, he really is living the good life. I want to party with those sluts in a hot tub too!

I have to screw the same old b*tch I've been screwing for 5 years now. Why didn't god make me an NFL QB? I suck.

Guy was spoiled at USC, and this is one of the main reasons he slipped in the draft. I don't think football is the #1 priority in his life, and really, it's hard to blame him...

Would Whisenhunt have made that comment had this NOT gone public? Umm nope. End of story. No need to read the article. Move on.

Imagine what it would be like if Paul Hornung and Max McGee played today. Even Vince Lombardi couldn't keep those guys in check. Their nighttime adventures were legendary.

What kind of tool wears a backwards baseball cap in a hot tub?

The kind with 4 hot co-eds in there with him?

Sounds about right for you. Wisenhunt specifically referred to the behavior, not the publication of the behavior. But continue to post in ignorance. We'd expect nothing less.

Leinart was having some fun with some young chippies in a hot-tub and doing beer bongs. Seems like fun, if you ask me.

i think people are just jealous that they werent there....

paul hornung was a party animal...alex karras..art donovan...max mcgee played SB 1 with a serious hangover...

the favre early year stories are legendary and hes a 1st ballt hall of famer..if they had youtube and camera phones in the early 90s, you couldve seen brett playing bartender at the ol mcswiggins.. :pointstosky:

**damn..jeremy beat me to it**

compared to chris henry...stories like this are harmless...lets worry about the criminals...

poor decision making is going to aruba during the season..this isnt close to the start of the season...

Well, Leinart went from doing hot chicks to someone who will be referred to in conversation as "not that there's anything wrong with it" in short order.

I will admit that I was envious of him.....Paris Hilton,.....porn star look alikes (I still think that girl is Jenteal!). The word "disturbing" from the previous post sums up my feelings at this point. Look at the bright side Matt, you can always blame it on the alcohol. You don't have to be Miss Cleo to smell the word "rehab" in Leinart's future.

I can't take credit for the following, but I just couldn't resist posting it below:

Overheard at a staff meeting between Buzzsaw owner Bill Bidwill and Coach Ken Whisenhunt...

Bidwell: Whisenhunt! what's going on?

Whisenhunt: It's Leinart! He's gone from suck to blow.

Read the whole thread humpty dumpty! :music_guitarred: I was responding to Wifflenuts biotching about why Whisenhunt would come out publicy against Leinart. Now go back to playing with yourself. :overhead:

Whisenhunt is going after him because he is hoping a false sense of 'seriousness' will convince the fan base they are progressing in lieu of actually winning football games...

If the Cards were a playoff team, this isn't an issue.... Now as to WHY they aren't a playoff team, well, thats more Whisenhunt than Leinart IMO...
