Next time you see her, tell her you want to impregnate her and have medicaid pay for it. Sounds like she has a hairy muff though, so bring a weed eater.

I am taking PHL 343, "the Nation's Health and Election 2008" Obviously it is dealing with the healthcare crisis in this country and the McBama's view to help it.

Today we had a guess lecturer, a person working on her PHD or something. She was talking about medicade and medicare on a local level in Lansing. I guess she volunteered her time at some clinic or whatever.

Well, on one slide she has a fact "50% of births in Lansing are paid for by Medicaid". So I was like woah! I raised my hand and said, do you think this is a problem? A child is a great responsibility and perhaps if someone cannot afford to have a childs birth, then how will they support the child throughout his or her childhood?

She calls me a eugenicist (i didnt know what it was at the time but have since looked it up and am deeply offended) and moves on. After her lecture she comes back to my point and says:

"HOW CAN YOU UNDERSTAND? YOU ARE A WHITE MALE!"

I jump out of my seat and say EXCUSE ME ! THANKS FOR MAKING ASSUMPTIONS!

And then some people in the back start laughing and she asks them and there like i think the kid in the front (me) has a good point. Then the normal professor goes off on ME! saying that I am wrong and that I need to understnad not everyone is so priviliged!

Then I say this: "I know I cant say this because I am a white Male, but perhaps before a woman is ready to have a kid she should think about whether the guy will be there through thick and thin with her"

Then 2 girls int he front say "You sexist ######! How are we supposed to know how a guy will be!" (I wanted to say your the one that focked him without protection, i would hope you know) then class is over and people start to leave and the prof just starts going off on me again as people leave.

LOL, all because I asked if the 50% of medicaids births is a little scary..

You're in college and you come across liberalism?!!! Oh btw..................

WE LANDED ON THE MOON!

The only thing that surprises me here is that you were shocked (rightfully so I might add) by their response. Colleges have somehow become Meccas of Liberalism with Professors somehow thinking teaching Liberalism is more important than teaching knowledge and skills required for success in life.

The "White Male" comment just shows how PC it has become to be racist, if you're not white.

The sense of entitlement and someone else can pay for my mistakes (kids out of wedlock with men who could care less) is rampant in our society. It has spread to every level of our society. It will be our demise.

Just for the fun of it, research out of wedlock birthrates before LBJ and today. Check it out by socio economic status. The indisputable conclusion reveals much about the black community.

LBJ is not only responsible for 100,00's of 1,000's of American lives lost in Vietnam thru his escalation of the war but also is the father of Welfare. He is singularly responsible for generations of "baby mama's" and the thugs who live off them. He has done more to set back disadvantaged segments of our society that any other person who walked the face of this earth.

What you should have said was that you hoped the guest lecturer and professor would each contract ovarian cancer...and that the girl who said something that you would fuckherintheass until pooshotthrough her eyeballs and hit the wall...

That's what you should have said/done, but you kinda wussed out.

I just cant beleive someone openly said that because I am a white male, anything i argue is irrelevant. ive read people who advocate that, but to have it said to me to my face was really a shocker

my teacher sent out this email:

Hello all,

I gather I am not alone in being discontent with the tenor of conversation in today's class. To me there seemed to be undefended presumptions, and assumptions of others' presumptions, motivations, or backgrounds, criss-crossing in multiple directions-- resulting in frustration, anger, and hurt feelings. On the one hand, this is a collective failure (to which we all, myself included, must own up), since a goal of the class is to have the kind of discourse on complex policy issues that we ideally would like to see in the broader public--something we have frequently but not always accomplished throughout the term.

On the other hand, this is a great opportunity. The kinds of communications impasses that occurred are ones that commonly do obstruct or end political conversation on health care challenges (indeed on many kinds of policy challenges) in the broader body politic. So if we can develop together strategies and ground rules for discourse that allow us to press for explicit identification of presumptions in respectful ways, then we have reason for optimism for the broader, messy democratic discourse at stake. We also will have something to contribute to that broader discourse-- a modeling of virtuous habits of discourse that can help our communities to converse about complex and value-laden issues.

I am glad that by coincidence this is the week I had cleared my schedule to visit all discussion sections in addition to my own, so I will be able to be present in all groups as we together explore peoples' feelings about class today and devise alternative strategies of mutual interrogation regarding local health care access issues.

The guest speaker Thursday is also likely to discuss how a community can talk together about difficult economic and values tradeoffs, as well as about actualizing community decision-making. He is Mr. Doak Bloss, the community facilitator for the Ingham County Health Department. Sponsored by a grant from the Kellogg foundation, he facilitated a series of community conversations aimed at determining the local community's priorities for its health care budget. (That's from "what is health and disease?" to "these are the health-promoting policies we are going to spend our dollars on" in one extended public engagement process, folks-- in a sense, our syllabus engaged in at a community level for practical purposes.) One result of that process, which was called "Community Voices on Health," was the formation of the Ingham County Health Plan that Ms.Connealy mentioned today. I believe ICHP was the first county-level effort to address uninsurance in the country. (County health official and democratic deliberation facilitator by day, actor by night-- Mr. Bloss is also one of the most acclaimed stage actors in the Capital region. I don't think he sleeps. He probably won't tell you about his night job, though!)

I look forward to Mr. Bloss's lecture, our final guest lecture of the year. And I look forward to springboarding from his description of the challenges of the Ingham COunty "community voices" project to our addressing challenges of "class voices" (including silenced ones)as we devise appropriate procedures for the discussion section discourse to follow on Thursday and Friday.

Reminder Thurs/Fri discussion sections are LAST chance to hand in late journals or requested rewrites.

Also, if you are late with either your paper or your review of another's, it is your responsibility to communicate the issues at stake to that person. In that case it is your assigned partner's prerogative to work with you on your belated schedule if s/he can, but the partners need not if that simply doesn't work in their schedule. In either case we should be made aware of the issue so that the nonlate partner does not become inadvertantly penalized (for example, by a necessarily quickly done review or rewrite). Please remember to upload paper drafts and finals on angel so we have an e- record of them.

Seriously dood, that sucks. I'd be miffed too. I sometimes wonder about the profs who are lost in the esoteric world of academia.

they probably believe in big gov't. I believe that reproduction is an inherent right, however having medicaid is not. people should not expect to receive subsidies from the gov't for having kids. If they did not receive subsidies, then there would be less children born into bad financial situations. if you want more of something, subsidize it. If you want less of it, tax it.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me in my years of schooling. Thats not liberalism, thats just stupidity. I go to school in the home of liberalism, san francisco (well, across the bay from s.f.) and i've never heard anything that ridiculous being said.

You just experienced it (not that I said it, that it happened). A lesson learned my young apprentice. Get used to it. Not only is anything you say irrelevant, it is by definition of your white male, non thugness status........... racist. Thus, subject to contempt and ridicule.

As far as your subsequent posts, vis-a-vis this prof, get your grade and get the F out. He is clearly insane. Your values in life are your values. Hold them close and be true to them and they will serve you well.

Best of luck bro.

ETD: I would suggest that you consider upon ending your career in this department of study or upon graduation to write an essay or letter to the Chancellor of the U (MSU?) questioning why you were not taught knowledge and skills instead of this Prof's political agenda. You may also wish to send a copy to local media. The only way Prof's will stop stop preaching personal political agendas is if they are forced to.

I didnt see 8 mile??

It's either the extra-wide road that forms the northern border of the city your profile says you're from or the movie named after the road. Anyone from Detroit should be pretty familiar with both. Maybe you're just a clueless white male from Livonia, Birmingham, or Sterling Heights.

is your professor male or female? scratch that...he would still get ovarian cancer...pooftahass.

next time bring an orange...unpeel it a bit and then fire it at the prof's face or the guest speaker...the acid will burn...

or, get some nasty vinagrette in the squeeze bottle and fire that at the prof's face...

OR...

if it was me I'd consider bringing a noose to class and say that Rodeo 101 was the next class and not to get any strange ideas...or to presume anything...any presumption would be the result of a guilty conscience...liberals are consumed with that idea/concept...then they take their guilt and yell at other people...like that guest speaker you had.

Also, once you leave college, leave Michigan...leave that dump to meth white trash and crazy negroes.

the main prof was not so bad! It was the guest lecturer. You know one of those who come from a rich area, do an hour of volunteer work in the inner city and dedicate their life to "selflessness" and "equality"

It's liberalism, radical feminism (anti-male policies), and the propagation of perpetual victimhood that has pervaded our Universities for a long, long time. Good luck stemming that tide!

I've just started reading a book called The Closing Of the American Mind that addresses this issue, though it kinda argues against what you're saying here. Colleges and Universities have become training centers instead of centers of higher learning. Consequently we have a bunch of folks who can't think for themselves. They only know how to do the job they've been trained to do. Scary.

Then I say this: "I know I cant say this because I am a white Male, but perhaps before a woman is ready to have a kid she should think about whether the guy will be there through thick and thin with her"

I think you would have been better off sticking with your original argument: should we foot the bill for low income births? That's a policy question. But the above statement introduces an entirely different issue altogether, and it centers on morals more than policy. When you do that, people take it personally when they shouldn't and you exposed that uppity b!tch for who she is. Trust me man, I sympathize with you because I work with a lot of these type of broads. They're nothing but well manicured manequins reciting political correctness in the name of progress. They don't get it.
