***NFL Mock Draft-*****

2.10 Buffalo Bills - Alex Mack

Is said to be the best pure Center in the draft. The Peters trade through me off, but I won't reach for a Tackle. They needed help inside all along and I think Mack can come in an start right off the bat.

Giants select Clint Sintim OLB Virginia.

Get more depth to the weakest unit on our defense and probably an instant starter over anything we currently have on the roster at the SAM spot.

Patriots select S Patrick Chung, Oregon.

The Patriots would be surprised by the number of quality players that are still there that were considered in the first round. However, they have some big needs in the secondary. A guy like Chung helps fill the void left by Rodney Harrison.

1.31 Chris Wells RB Ohio State

Thanks kutulu, sorry I was gone. Actually I'm not; I was on a cruise, and this thing was too slow.

Anyway I like the pick. You can stay on the bored for another month.

The Denver Broncos select Pat White QB West Virginia

Slow down, bro-ham.

The Denver Broncos select William Moore, Safety, Mizzou.

Denver's defense sucked last season, and while I acknowledge the chances of an offensive-minded head coach selecting three straight defensive players in his first draft are slim, the bootyliciousness of that defense in 2008 can't be ignored.

Jets select Ron Brace, DT, Boston College

was going to take McCoy as TJ is going to be 32 and I don't think Leon is a feature back. With McCoy off the board I think they can wait until round 3.

Brace is the best DT left and Jenkins isn't getting younger either. He wore down a little last season so this is a pick to help keep him fresh and have an eventual replacement when the time comes.

With the 57th pick, the Ravens select, Eric Wood, C, Louisville...

This was a very tough pick, the three players I targeted were taken earlier, far earlier than I would have thought.

As the Raven's already address DB in round 1 this pick was either going to be WR or OL. Given the nature of WR's available I decided that I would go for the best player still on my list in Wood.

Thought being that a need is OL, and while they managed to steal away a goog center from Minny, this can perhaps be a more long term solution, and investment in WR can happen later .

A few picks ago, I was going to have to chastise folks for having Barwin, Ayers, and English still on the board. Glad you guys stepped up.

The Patriots select Jamon Meredith, OT South Carolina.

He is smart and can play both T and G, both traits that the Patriots covet. With several contracts expiring in the next year, he can slide right in there at a couple of different spots.

Sebastian Vollmer OT from Houston. Big, strong, athletic kid with room to put some size on his 6'7 frame. We need to start grooming some people to take over for McKenzie as well as adding depth to the line.

With their second round pick, The Tennessee Titans select...

Jonathan Luigs, C Arkansas

The Titans need to draft a replacement for Kevin Mawae.

Height: 6-35/8 | Weight: 301 | 40-Time: 5.14

Strengths:

Great size and bulk...Good athleticism...Light on his feet...Terrific speed, quickness and agility...Is aggressive and a finisher...Has a nasty on-field demeanor...Technically sound...Understands positioning and angles...Mobile with range to get to the second level and pull...Very smart with excellent awareness and a high football IQ...Durable and has a ton of experience against elite competition...A strong work ethic.

Weaknesses:

Needs to get stronger...Can be more physical...Is not overly stout at the point of attack and will get pushed back...Will fall off his blocks at times...Is not a true road grader in the run game...Will have some trouble when he's matched up head-to-head with massive nose tackles.

Notes:

Last name is pronounced "luh-WEEGS"...Redshirted in 2004 then went on to become a four-year starter in the SEC...Won the Rimington Trophy as the nation's top center as a junior and was a finalist as a sophomore and senior...Named a 3rd Team All-American in 2006 and 2nd Team in 2007...Was recognized as an All-SEC performer four times...Started every game he ever played for the Razorbacks and finished his career with 46 consecutive starts...Also saw some action at right guard his freshman year...Missed some time with a high-ankle sprain in 2005...Helped pave the way for Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Michael Smith and some potent Hogs rushing attacks...Highly decorated pivot with a fantastic mix of physical tools and intangibles.

With their second round pick the Cardinals select Paul Kruger, DE, Utah.

The Cards greatest needs are DE/OLB for the 3-4, and TE. We were hoping Michael Johnson dropped to here, but not the case. The Cards are set for now but Berry, Okeafor, and others are 30+ in age. Kruger is a Whisenhunt blue-collar type of player who the Cards can plan to develop for a year or two:

03/06/09 - Versatility at end position: Paul Kruger, Utah, 6-4, 263: His road toward the NFL has been an interesting one, including having his kidney removed as a child following a car accident, a two-year Mormon mission and being severely stabbed outside a party in January 2008 when he came to the aid of a friend. But he is all business on the field, where he made All-Mountain West in 2008 with 61 tackles, 16½ tackles for a loss, 7½ sacks and seven pass breakups. A hustler who is very consistent, Kruger has the ability to play outside linebacker in a 3-4 and could probably handle a little more weight on his frame. - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
