Mack 1 6 Posted November 20, 2009 RIGHT - Tom Brady's resurgence - LT's continued decline in fantasy relevance - Miles Austin's ascension in Dallas' passing game - Cedric Benson going off - Westbrook's fragility continuing to frustrate his owners - Jamal Lewis stinkin' up the joint WRONG - ...that Devin Hester would suck at WR - ...that Kellen Winslow would struggle in Tampa with no quality QB - ...that Calvin Johnson would challenge Fitz and Andre Johnson for #1 fantasy QB - ...that based on their production from 2008, that Steve Slaton and Chris Johnson were about equal in fantasy value - ...that the Jets' defense would be a Baltimore-style unit - ...that Chad Ochocinco would struggle without TJ Houshmandzadeh What say you? spongeballer 2 Posted November 20, 2009 I don't remember any of my good predictions. I only remember my bad ones.
TwentyFourSeven 23 Posted November 20, 2009 Right: Cedric Benson being a great fantasy RB. Matt Schaub putting up solid numbers. DeSean Jackson being a great fantasy WR (even though he is boom or bust). Wrong: Chris Johnson wouldn't be a great fantasy RB (I was right until he started to produce lately). Matt Ryan would be a great fantasy QB.
BigBlue7 0 Posted November 20, 2009 VERY wrong about trading Ray Rice after week three. I saw the mcgahee trend of stealing carries and TD's. Figured Rice would be no more than a 10-12 pts per game in a ppr league. I knew it was quite possible that willis would get hurt...but thought that he might stay healthy with the light work load and that the trend might continue. Anyway...traded Rice and Cotchery for Slaton and TO....MAJOR WRONG on that one. I think Rice has outscored all 3 combined since that trade.
KSB2424 3,098 Posted November 20, 2009 RIGHT - LT's continued decline in fantasy relevance - Miles Austin's ascension in Dallas' passing game - Ray Rice going off - Jamal Lewis stinkin' up the joint - S-Jax living up to first round pick status - Matt Shaub's studness WRONG - Steve Slaton was a first round pick - James Davis - Kevin Boss and Dustin Keller would finish Top 10 TE's - Jeremy Maclin is not a relevant fantasy player
kmbryant09 1 Posted November 20, 2009 RIGHT: -LT's stuggles and continued fantasy decline -Tom Brady taking some time to get back up to speed (predicted 30-34 TDs) -Westbrook, Portis, Lynch, LJ, Lewis, and Barber (to some extent) weren't going to be fantasy relevant this year -Ray Rice -Aaron Rodgers fantasy impact -Bengals competing for a playoff spot -Matt Ryan struggling WRONG: -Had Slaton above Chris Johnson -Eddie Royal, unbelievable -Greg Jennings and Ryan Grant -Thought Matt Cassel would be a decent fantasy QB
WhiteWonder 2,453 Posted November 20, 2009 - ...that the Jets' defense would be a Baltimore-style unit What say you? the Jets defense leads Baltimores in yards/yards per game and passing yards/passing yards per game. The Ravens have the edge in rushing yards and the teams are neck and neck in points allowed.
WhiteWonder 2,453 Posted November 20, 2009 Right About the emergence of Sidney Rice the value of Steve Breaston that D-Will wasn't a fluke and his schedule wouldn't hurt him too badly the value of Carson Palmer + Ochocinco Pierre's touches. Slaton having a sophomore slump. Wrong About LT producing like last season Eddie Royal Brian Robiskie the value of Kevin Walter
FeelingMN 273 Posted November 20, 2009 I was wrong about Favre's impact on the Vikings. Didn't think he added much, and that they were the same team with/without him. Wrong about LT. Thought that guy could salvage one last year. Wrong about Cedric Benson. Thought he was slow and plodding and could only accumulate numbers through quantity of touches. Wrong about Eddie Royal....and bought way too heavily into his preseason performance and all the Wes Welker comparisons....dumb. Wrong about Thomas Jones not having anything left in the tank this year. Wrong about Calvin Johnson...thought he'd be a top 3 receiver...easily. Wrong about Stewart drastically affecting DWill's value.....DWill is a stud regardless. Wrong about Michael Turner only producing against lesser defenses. I was right on Schaub though. He's a bonafide QB1. Right on Pierre Thomas....huge talent, but questions about how Payton would use him. I was right in thinking OchoCinco would deliver this year. Right about Portis sucking. Right about TO sucking. Right about Cutler not being the savior for the Chicago Bears.
Portis26 0 Posted November 20, 2009 I was right; Tom Brady is over-rated. If Matt Cassel failed in KC, and was a STAR in NE ...just goes to show u that any trained monkey can be the QB for the Pats. He got his glory with a cheating Head Coach, and now the talent around him masks his 'averageness' Shaub is a fantasy stud Eddie Royal was a product of Cutler I was wrong; Mendenhall suks - while he is ok, he doesn't sux totally Andre Johnson would average a TD a game this season Lendale White is a decent #2 fantasy RB Felix Jones was going to be the best RB for the Boys
Huh? 7 Posted November 20, 2009 Right: Hightower would be serviceable to good as my flex player. Unfortunately he had to become my RB2 (see below) and is now my RB1 until Turner comes back! Winslow would be adequate as my TE I passed on Brandon Jacobs and Kevin Smith in order to draft recievers. As a result, I have the highest scoring WR tandem in my league. I didn't go out on many limbs that ended up being right. I was right that Turner, Wayne, Colston, and Romo would be good, but those aren't exactly bold predictions. Wrong: Eddie Royal - I thought he would be battling with Hightower as my flex. Derek Ward - I drafted him to be my RB2 after Turner!!! I didn't think Chris Johnson would be nearly as good as he has been. I could have had him instead of Reggie Wayne.
Jaxie 0 Posted November 20, 2009 I passed on a trade in week 4 that would've given me Thomas Jones for Brian Westbrook. Now I just dropped the concussion king for waiver wire junk. Dammit.
We Tigers 71 Posted November 20, 2009 Right about: -Schaub is a dominant fantasy QB -LT is broken -Steve Smith will be the Giants #1 receiver and well worth drafting -Lendale won't come anywhere close to his 2008 -Dallas Clark will lead all TEs and Brent Celek will be money -Calvin Johnson will take a significant step back because of his situation in Detroit -Eddie Royal is a good-for-nothing Hokie and should die in a fire -It's just a matter of getting into the starting lineup for Mike Walker Wrong about: -Cedric Benson being a worthless chump (oops) -Earnest Graham being the Tampa back to own (oooooooops) -Clinton Portis will have another top 10 RB season (ooooooooooops) -Kevin Smith being awesome (ooooooooooooooops) -No Giants receiver will be that useful (okay, I thought Smith'd be a nice late round pickup, but I was thinking 900 yards/5 TDs max...hello paydirt...and Manningham and Nicks really stepped up too) -Greg Jennings is the surest best for a top WR season outside the Fitz/Moss/AJ triumvirate (ooooooooooooooooooops) -Thomas Jones is cooked and looking at 1000 yards/6 TDs at best (and I owned him last year! O ye of little faith...) There are probably 30 more wrongs, but those are the big ones.
jrbdmb 28 Posted November 20, 2009 Right - Ronnie Brown - until he got hurt Thomas Jones - more gas in the tank after all Kellen Winslow - thought he be at least servicable in TB Tom Brady - rounding into form Wrong - LT2 - hoping for one more Top 10 year, not to be Brandon Jacobs - where the beast from last year? Kevin Smith - brutal schedule, maybe not so great Dwayne Bowe - underachieving before the idiot get suspended.
JT 137 Posted November 20, 2009 Right about... Cedric Benson being a solid option in Cincy Joseph Addai getting the meaningful carries and TD in Indy Plenty left in Donald Driver, Tony Gonzalez and Kellen Winslow (that's KW Jr...though senior would fit in with the age of the rest of my receivers) Cutler is Jeff George redux Wrong about... Green Bay becoming an elite team DeAngelo Williams? We don't need no stinkin DeAngelo Williams. One more top 10 season from LT2 Philly having enough left to distance themselves from the rest of the NFC East Too soon to tell... Steve Slaton's ball security issues will result in him becoming nothing more than a 3rd down back Michael Bush will ultimately emerge as the best of the 3 Oakland RB Jacksonville will be a playoff team San Diego will win the AFC West
mgs316 14 Posted November 20, 2009 I picked Jennings over Wayne. Makes me sick to my stomach.
nflocd 0 Posted November 20, 2009 Wrong: LT2 back to form Greg Jennings would be a #1 receiver Bernard Berrian would be a steal Trent Edwards would be a top-10 QB Right: Brent Celek would be a steal (credit this bored)
Ras66not99 0 Posted November 21, 2009 Judging by my Sig, (Wayne, Rodgers & Orakpo) the 3 things I was most confident in are looking pretty nice.... I also knew Portis would be 100% DONE, Benson and Ocho would be real nice picks in the middle rounds, and I had a feeling that spawn of ShannyRat would cause major issues in the Texans backfield, so i steered far away from Slaton... Only thing I can't believe is how Aaron Rodgers is a pure animal yet Greg Jennings has been pretty blah... I though Jennings would be much better than what he's been this year, oh and I thought Forte would benifit a lot more from Cutler getting there... so much for that
gitrdun 17 Posted November 21, 2009 I picked Jennings over Wayne. Makes me sick to my stomach. I did the same thing. I would be at the top of my league if I would have picked Wayne instead of being tied for 5th.
cubbie5150 0 Posted November 21, 2009 Right: Forte would mostly suck Jennings was way over-valued Wrong: Cutler would be top 7 QB & "dependable" (WAY wrong); this was my "going out on a limb" prediction...costing me dearly Slaton would have a better year than Chris Johnson (don't own either)
XRage 0 Posted November 21, 2009 RIGHT: -MJD would outproduce ADP (so far). I took MJD over ADP with the #2 pick (Turner went #1) WRONG: -Bernard Berrian would be a major deep threat and have a great year with Favre throwing him the ball -Marshawn Lynch would put up RB1 numbers after serving his suspension -Derrick Ward would be a solid RB2 -NYJ DST would be a top 5 fantasy defense this year
gridiron whirlwinds 9 Posted November 21, 2009 Right Ray Rice Sidney Rice Miles Austin Wrong Cedrick Benson Lendale White
Kaptain02 0 Posted November 21, 2009 RIGHT: Matt Schaub putting up big numbers Tony Gonzalez being consistant Randy Moss being a # 1 receiver Calvin Johnson being overated WRONG: LT being a stud for one more year D. Williams being a one year wonder G. Jennings - I HATE YOU D. Ward being like E. Graham of last year... and then some.
Bgards79 0 Posted November 21, 2009 WRONG: -Bernard Berrian would be a major deep threat and have a great year with Favre throwing him the ball. This one was my big fork-up as well and my WR Corp has been fugly all year. My RIGHT would be predicting Chris Johnson would be a Top 3 RB and also Aaron Rodgers. What he is doing fantasy wise with as many times as he gets sacked is amazing.
PATSSOX 22 Posted November 21, 2009 Thought the loss of Ronnie Brown would hurt Ricky Williams If you would say 3 TDs are not a good thing than i maybe right but so far
Watchdog 0 Posted November 22, 2009 Right: Tried (and failed) to trade up in the first round so I could draft MJD in the #2 slot. Hester would be better than most thought. Thought Mendenhall would become starting RB. Said Burleson would be a good #3 WR. Thought Rivers-Jackson would be a great FF combo. Roethlisberger would be a top ten fantasy QB. Didn't expect Roy Williams to do much in Dallas. Wrong: Thought Garrard would sneak into the top ten of fantasy QBs. Didn't expect good numbers from Romo. Thought Ginn would improve as WR. Thought Forte would be decent. Thought Brown would take over for Addai by now. Didn't think Warner and Breaston would have that good a year. Thought Felix Jones would have a better year.
