Need DJ help#@!

Recommended Posts

We are throwing a party tonight; dancing is planned. My wife has tons of pop dance music, but not much rock dance. Any suggestions? Songs like Sweet Home Alabama etc. TIA

That DJ gig at the little ole' tavern is all making sense now. I bet that's gonna be a hoot of a time  If you can actually get people to dance to those songs, that would be some good people watching. We don't have them types where I'm from :wall:

Three jobs in four days over the weekend. Guarantee you I made more money in those three nights than you will all month.

Don't hate. Appreciate. :music_guitarred:

Those two phags would be better at giving your wife advice on how to give a BJ than be a DJ. HTH.

I, like most on this board, have a tremendous amount of wealth.

Christmas is paid for for the next 30 years for me... I just have to go out and actually get the gifts.

Exactly. Mine was paid for with one weekend of DJing. In cash.

Thanks party-goers. :D

Life is good right now, too good actually.

I'm fully expecting something really bad to happen very soon.

Newbie you are becoming the board equivalent of Obama now. No matter what you post, Flahawker and LaChup will swoop in, politicize it, and criticize you for it.

Your taste in music must sux because you don't hate obama for everything!

That's how simple-minded people are. If you don't agree with their politics, you burrow deep inside their heads and they become obsessed with you. They actually really feel like you're an enemy of theirs.

Funny, huh? :music_guitarred:

Never actually used the word 'enemy' but you know as well as I do that comments get made in non-political threads based on disagreements in political threads.

Politics have nothing to do with your chitty taste in music. Hey MedStudent......were you dancing to J. Geils in Cancun? When you and your chick decided to go out dancing, did you say, "let's go find ourselves some John Cougar and ZZ Top." Quit politicizing me :pointstosky:

No, but i'm in my early 20's while I believe Jerryskids is in his early 40's. Jerryskids also said he wanted rock songs like "sweet home alabama". so I think Newbie had the correct era but not something i would be dancing to in cancun.

Wow, a thread with a music question turns into a slapfight, whoulda thunk it.

Party went extremely well; lots of dancing, drinking, billiards, games, video games, etc.

To the music question, I think MedStudent hit it on the head when he talked about age. I am in my low 40s, and it ends up our crowd is somewhat bimodal:

- Children thru mid-20s: Mylie, Gaga, etc.

- 40-50+: Disco. One of the ladies used to do competitive disco, and knew a bunch of line dances. The line dances are a big hit, presumably because you can dance without being a good dancer, just follow the line.

So... the 80s music including the rock songs weren't big hits with this crowd.

Another thing that happened... people started plugging in their mp3 players and playing their music. We will definitely encourage that next time around.

Looks like I was right. If you woulda tuned into this slapfight sooner, you wouldn't have wasted your time on Newbie's "hits". BTW......I'm in my high 30's and I still know good music when I hear it. Glad you had a good time
