redtodd 7 Posted November 29, 2009 Yes, Favre is the MVP right now. Not Manning. Not Brady. It is Favrah. I am still a bit surprised.

Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted November 29, 2009 As a guy that's never liked Favre, I'll give him credit - he's turned Minnesota into a serious Super Bowl contender. He should at least be on the ballot, that's for sure.

phenom 0 Posted November 29, 2009 when you combine his record with his stats it's clear....Favre is the mvp. And I don't like him
kmbryant09 1 Posted November 30, 2009 I think it's neck and neck between Manning and Favre, with Brees a close 2nd. Manning has led a team to an undefeated, 11-0 start, including SEVERAL HUGE come-from-behind-wins. He is, by definition, far and beyond the most VALUABLE player to any team. (You take Brady off the Pats, they win 11 games last year, this same Vikings team won what, 10 games last year with Tard Jackson?). But Favre's 24:3 TD/INT ratio is ridiculous. He's taken the playoff-contending Vikings and turned them into a legit SuperBowl contender. He's taken care of the ball, made big plays, and has made everyone else around him better. If the Colts go 16-0, it's gotta be Manning...if not though, it's gotta be Favre.
bushy 0 Posted November 30, 2009 Right now, I have it Favre, then Manning, then Brees. Manning and Brees were clearly ahead earlier in the season, but both have turned the ball over a bit much the last couple weeks.
remote controller 143 Posted November 30, 2009 The way the teams are keying on stopping AD aids Brett. I am Brett's biggest fan, but Manning doesn't have that luxary and neither does Drew. Yes, Brett is i a 3 way race for the MVP right now. I would love it if he won it along with the Super bowl.

braylonjetwards 0 Posted November 30, 2009 How is noone even putting Chris Johnson in the discussion. Those QBs have been stellar but look at Johnson. He appears to be on the verge of going over 2000 yards. An 0-6 team is now in the playoff hunt because of mostly the legs of Johson (Young deserves credit too). If he gets to 2000 and the Titans get into the playoffs how could he not be a serious canddidate. I agree those 3 are the front runners at this point but Johnson deserves mentioning. billmatic 0 Posted November 30, 2009 Between Manning, Favre and Brees, I think any of them could win it depending on how the rest of the season plays out. Right now I'd put Favre first, then Manning then Brees. Favre has made Minnesota a beast, and Manning has transformed someone named Pierre Garcon into a NFL player. No regard to the #1 scoring defense going into this week? Funny how when people mention Brady or Reothisberger, they can't help but bring up the defenses. Manning's defense does great, somehow it is still Manning doing it all by himself. Even in the Super Bowl year, people still talk about Manning "leading" them to the Super Bowl (even though they ignore that he had a 3:7 TD:INT ratio during that playoff run). Even in the Super Bowl year, people still talk about Manning "leading" them to the Super Bowl (even though they ignore that he had a 3:7 TD:INT ratio during that playoff run). Right, because the Colt's DEF ranks 15th overall in TOTAL DEFENSE. The defense had a huge part in the Colts 27-23 win over the Dolphins, or the come-from=behind 18-14 win over the 49ers...Or the come-from-behind 20-17 win over the Texans. And the DEF REALLLLLY won them the game against the Pats when Manning lead 3 TD drives in their 35-34 win. And the DEF played LIGHTS out against HOU in the Colts 35-27 win today against HOU. Look, I'm pleased with our DEF. We're young, have dealt with a lot of injuries, and (our secondary in particular), has stepped up and made stops. But by no means have they been the reason for a single win this season, with the exception of possibly week 1 against JAX. My point is that Manning is directly responsible for more wins to his team than any other player probably in the history of the NFL. Heck, this season alone, he's led 6 4th quarter comebacks, including some miraculous ones against Miami, NE, and Houston. We saw what happened when you take Brady off the Pats...they win 11 games. Last year, without Favre, the Jackson-lead Vikings won 10(?) games. With Manning off the Colts??? As a diehard fan, we don't win more than 6 games. That is essentially the definition of most VALUABLE player. And it's not like this is a 10-12 win team. They will win 14+ games with a real shot at going undefeated, largely because of #18. So yes, Manning has LED them to their 11-0 record thus far.

Go long 0 Posted November 30, 2009 I cannot believe we are talking Favre for MVP and I have played him once this year!!!!! I do believe he is deserving and still after this entire season, I am struggling to start him over Rodgers! I have had him in previous years and each week I think the old Favre will show up and throw for 4 ints. It just is not happening.

mzf5c5 0 Posted November 30, 2009 I have Farve barely a head of Manning right now, a tie would be awesome, both getting their 4th! Brees and CJ are probably tied behind these two. It isn't CJ who people are giving credit to for the Titans winning, it is VY.

It isn't CJ who people are giving credit to for the Titans winning, it is VY. Chris Johnson would get more credit if Young had been the QB all along, or if Collins was still QB....but the fact is TEN started winning when VY went under center......and Chris Johnson took off...and the TEN secondary got healthy. If they continue playing as they have been, Favre and Manning should be co-MVPs.
mzf5c5 0 Posted November 30, 2009 who cares who the MVP is today.. if the Colts or Saints go undefeated, Brees or Manning will win it.. if they both go undefeated? BirdBradyBobbyOrr 0 Posted November 30, 2009 Right now, today, it's Brett Favre. Anybody who says Manning or Brady or Brees are fooling themselves. Favre's stats and how bad that team was last year make him the clear favorite. Seasons, not over, Brady tosses 5 against New Orleans, Manning leads the NFL in TDs, one of the two QBs goes undefeated, Chris Johnson rushes for 2200 yards, any of them are still contenders. Chances are Brett Favre starts throwing interceptions soon and his stats go down a bit, but right now it's gotta be Favre.

It also makes me wonder WTF was wrong with the JETS when they had him.
parrot 789 Posted November 30, 2009 It also makes me wonder WTF was wrong with the JETS when they had him. In fairness to the Jets (puke), they were pretty good when he was healthy last year. bushy 0 Posted November 30, 2009 I've seen Brady mentioned a couple times here. Is he really in the conversation? I mean, the Pats won 11 last year without him. It looks like they're going to win 11-12 with him this year. How valuable is he? I'd also like to add that yes, Favre is #1 on my list right now. However, he did not take over a terrible team. The Vikings are a much better team right now then last year. Obviously, the Vikings are better right now. It shows up in their record. They're currently 10-1 and looking at no worse than 14-2 I think. However, it seems kind of a stretch to say the Pats are significantly better than last year. You are what your record says you are and the Pats record is not going to be significantly different than last year. Ergo, Brady is not that valuable. Sorry. By the same token, I think the Vikes win 11 games without Favre. Without Brees or Manning though, and those 2 teams are lucky to win 8 games. Like I said before it should go: Favre, Manning, Brees, CJ right now.
PsychoBelichickFan 0 Posted November 30, 2009 the award might be split between manning and favre.....giving them both their 4th. brees has too many weapons on his offense........CJ is on a crap team record wise....It is favre or peyton.......I give a slight edge to favre. 9-Route 0 Posted November 30, 2009 it is very tough to argue against brees and manning as long as their clubs are undefeated; however, favre's single-loss vikes are truly playing excellent football right now and are arguably the best among these three. in the end, it is likely a qb [or two?] will take/share the mvp trophy, while tennessee's chris johnson will likely be awarded offensive player of the yr due to statistical excellence. We'll see after tonight what's being said on this board. what's being said on this board in regards to what??? this game doesn't really help a pats homer like yourself. if the pats win, more talk will be on the saints and how they were "not who we thought they were" and how they cannot truly hang with any powerhouse, much less an afc one; if the pats lose, they still know they are a very good team, have lost to a pair of undefeated teams, and their fanbase will continue to stay the course, etc etc. there aren't very many litmus tests, if at all, for an elite team during the season to know where they truly hang against fellow elite teams. this game has far more magnitude for the saints, win or lose, than does so for the pats.
