NewbieJr 541 Posted December 20, 2009 I was working last night and didn't get to see the game. Looking at the stats, it looks like Romo played a decent game. More importantly, he won a December game against a good opponent. That makes him 1 for 3 this December and 6 for 16 lifetime. This was a big one for him, though. Maybe he's getting over his December-fright. Two more to go. I guess we'll see.

He played a decent game---GOOD game ALL 3 December games. He put his team in position to win all 3 December games. Again...HE didn't win the game vs. the Saints. The Cowboys team won it. You talk about "Romo" winning and losing yet don't have any rational basis to back up what you are saying. Last night...you give credit to Romo for "winning". What if this would have happened: (Remember, Folk missed the FG that would have put the game away.) What if the Saints drive down after the missed FG, score with 2 seconds left (like they realistically had a chance to). Game goes to OT. Saints run back kickoff for TD, and win the game. Guess what, YOU'D be on here talking your usual candy ass sh!t about Romo losing the game. For once in your life...stand up...be a man...and admit your a candy-ass little frightened pipsqueak pvssy. Seriously. Have you EVER thought about being a man? Ever? Seriously. Be a man for once. At some point in your life, I would think you'd want to stop being a chicken sh!t. Oh..and with Dallas win last night, that brings Philly's SB wins to 0.

Yes, if that scenerio had played out, it would have meant that Dallas had a 24-3 lead and ended up choking it away' It wouldn't have mattered that Dallas never got the ball in overtime. Romo had plenty of possessions after it was 24-3 and couldn't muster up any more points. Ending the way it did, I came here and gave Romo credit for the win against a good team. Not sure what you're looking for, fatman. For the record, Romo is 1 for 3 this December. 33%. That's pretty much par for the course for him, as he was 5 out of 15 (33%) coming in. Walter34 3 Posted December 20, 2009 As a nuetral observer, there is way too much focus on Romo as the reason for the Cowboy's team failures over recent years. This is not to say that he is blameless through the span, but that the team as a whole has failed, not just him. This board and the media over all has gone way overboard on the topic. Last night's game was pretty much mistake free from Romo and there was still a chance that the Cowboys could lose the game in the 4th quarter. Once the game was 24-10, Romo hits Roy (#1 WR) Williams right in the hands on 3rd down and he drops it. After another Sailnts score and facing 3rd and 7, Romo calls a key timout at the line and then hits Austin for a big 3rd down conversion. The game clinching drive is capped off with Folk missing a chipshot fieldgoal. In the end, the defence stepped up and helped to close the deal during the final 2 minutes. Great games by Ware, Spencer, Barber, Austin and Romo. The Dallas secondary also played well in containing the saints pass game. Had the Cowboys lost, this board would have been a horror show attack on Romo this morning. Get some perspective people. The fact is that the Cowboys, while a playoff calibre team have just not been that good (as a team) the past few years. Just looking at the record of any qb is a superficial view. Just as it shouldnt on its own validate one players greatness, it shouldnt on its own besmirch another's. Look at the streak that makes up the now 6-15 record: 2006 - losses to better teams (NO and Philly), a loss to pathetic Detroit. I dont recall the details of this one. The statline looks fine for Romo, but this was a 37-31 shootout, so on the surface, let's put this one on the defence. This was followed up by the infamous botched snap \ hold which really started the Romo can't win in the clutch saga. 2007 - The cowboys finished 13-3 and lost 2 of 3 down the stretch, one of which they didnt dress their starters for much of the game. These December games were meaningless as they already had home field and the division locked up. This was the year that the Giants made their run to defeat all including the Pats, so the playoff loss was actually a January loss where the Cowboys hadnt played a meaningful game in several weeks. 2008 - Lost 3 of 4 down the stretch and missed the playoffs. This is valid as any team should not fold like that at the end. Who did they lose to in the 3 of 4 games? They beat the 12-4 Giants, they lost to the eventual superbowl champs - 12-4 Steelers, lost to the 11-5 eventual AFC runner up Ravens. The 3rd loss was the ass kicking from the Eagles 44-6. When you lose 44-6, its not the result of one player - all 53 plus coaches share in that one. 2009 - To date, they lost a crucial game to the Giants and then to SD, who everyone considers a better team overall and top 3-5 team in rankings right now. Romo has no turnovers in Dec so far and his qb rating has been 112, 111 and 104. When you look at the timeframe that makes up the poor december record, I would break it down as team flops more than Romo and then would further say that on the most part, Dallas was playing against better teams. Really, there is only 2 or 3 games in december over the past 4 years where you could say that they should have won or that they choked. - 2006 - loss to detroit which put them in a wildcard instead of division winner. D gave up 37 to Detroit. - 2006 - loss to Philly who won division with a late season charge. Romo played like sh!t - 2007 - NA - 2008 - Lossed 44-6 to Eagles. Team loss - 2009 - Lost to Giants. End result still TBD Overall, I think he does have to prove his mettle in clutch situations just as all qbs do. Last night against NO was a great team win, not just Romo's as the media would focus on. Brady is not "great" just based on team wins just as Romo does not suck because of team losses. I'm sick of the focus the the December record has gotten, and when you really look at it game by game, it comes down to 2 or 3 key games that required "clutch" play. When I think of the Cowboys over the past few years, I dont see a team that is upper echolon as far as tallent - they are what there record has been - playoff contender, but not elite. The Eagles more than anyone have had their number and they have played a large number of elite teams in decembers.

NO, I repeat NO quarterback has ever started their career by posting 4 consecutive 90+ QB ratings which Tony will have done at the conclusion of this season. With those 4 90+ QB rated seasons, Tony will be the 11th QB in NFL history to have 4 TOTAL 90+ QB rated seasons. Those are for careers folks, and he's started his off with it. Amazing really. 2006 95.1 2007 97.4 2008 91.4 2009 97.8 (so far) He is also the 4th fastest to 100 TDs and he has almost 1000 yards and 6 tds with 0 ints this december. I am sure these stats must make eagles fans insanely mad.

As another neurtral observer (Panthers fan), I've been saying the same thing. It's the NFC East, Pitt, 49er fans, and insecure men that 'hate' on Romo and have no common sense. Every neutral observer laughs at threads like these. Especially when they get so serious.

I was probably overboard with that part of it, knowing someone wouldn't partake. Although ridiculous, my offer still stands. Here's the other part...I will get a picture just for you...for whatever reason...I have no idea how I fell into your trap. Trust me on this.... Today, I'm 6' 0" 247 lbs. Prolly about 12-15% body fat, depending on the time of year. I can put weight on and take it off from 230 up to 260 at the "flick of a switch" so to speak. Depends on the time of year...but I decide what I weigh. Maybe you would kick my ass. I can't really envision how though. It's tough for most people to fight when they are on the ground, on their stomach...just being held there and mocked, with the guy on top not throwing a punch, but instead saying "come on...get up, are ya gonna get up?" But I'm sure...you, just like all the other tough guys would avoid the takedown with your excellent takedown defense you learned from your years of coaching soccer. And so I have a question. So what are you going to do exactly, when I PM you a link to a photo? You'll either say one of two things "Uhhh...that ain't you...." or "So what...." I mean...are you going to say "you win?" I doubt it. What's it gonna change? You're arguments and hatred toward a team that has so often been the demise your Eagles is the source of your hatred. Research the most hated team in the NFL. It's Dallas. Why? They killed someone's kids? Bad breath? It was the co cky fans spouting off about winning. It took it's toll on many...including yourself. So you lash out and cry about Romo. Where are your crybaby posts about Carson Palmer not winning a playoff game? LOL. He was the FIRST pick in the draft. Romo was undrafted. One is criticized up and down, regardless. Any ideas why? Here's a clue. One plays for the Cowboys, one doesn't. No one gives a rat's ass about the Bengals. Romo shouldn't be playing as well as he is. With the Eagles win vs. the 49ers, that ups their SB total to 0.

POTY!!! My God you're the biggest tool on this bored. I'm buff too. And a millionaire. And have a 12" ding dong....... Bwahahahahahaha................Tubby McRetard is a jacked animal. I love this
Phurfur 70 Posted December 21, 2009 Some how I thought of this statement when I read this thread. I'm a Paladin with 18 charisma and 97 hit points. I can use my helm of disintegration and do one D4 damage as my half-elf mage wields his plus-five holy avenger. Peter Griffin

PsychoBelichickFan 0 Posted December 21, 2009 Great excuse to not post your picture, handsome. I understand. I'm glad you're at least starting to feel a little embarrassed that you got so riled up just because someone doesn't like your team's quarterback. Kinda sounds a little silly when you say it back to yourself, huh? I know you're the strongest man on earth and have practically zero percent bodyfat and you have mad MMA fighting skills, so I suppose you have tons of disposable money, too. Go ahead a use my images in a manner that I could sue you for defamation of character. I've saved your little threats to my hard drive, plus printed them out, and I could certainly use the extra money. I'm putting in an inground pool in the spring. The Cowboys won't lose another regular season game this year. They are indeed headed to the playoffs. They won't lose to the Redskins or to the Eagles. They have finally found their stride. There are several reasons they won't lose: 1. They have a championship caliber defense. The old adage is true that defense wins championships, and they simply do not give up many points. Combine that with the fact that they have a very good offense, that is capable of scoring points in bunches, and they can beat anybody in the league. 2. They dismantled the #1 team in the NFC, and held the highest scoring offense in the NFL to 3 points in the first half. They didn't just beat the Saints...they beat them up, and exposed their weaknesses. 3. The victory over the Saints gave them the confidence that they can beat anybody in the league. They now expect to go deep in the playoffs, not just make the playoffs. They now feel they belong, and are entitled to go to the Super Bowl. They are now the team nobody wants to face in the playoffs. 4. The coaching staff is finally coming around on offense, recognizing that the more they use their high octane running game, the more it opens up the passing game. 5. They have heard enough of the critics saying they can't win in December. This team is playing angry, and taking it out on opponents, as well as exorcising some demons from the past. The Saints win was the first step in quieting the critics. The next will be the destruction of the Redskins. The final step to the playoffs will be the crushing of the Eagles to atone for last years devastating loss. 6. They are too talented, too focused, and too determined to allow anyone to stop them from getting to the postseason. Once they get there.....look out!!! 49ers_suck 0 Posted December 22, 2009 I was working last night and didn't get to see the game. Looking at the stats, it looks like Romo played a decent game. More importantly, he won a December game against a good opponent. That makes him 1 for 3 this December and 6 for 16 lifetime. This was a big one for him, though. Maybe he's getting over his December-fright. Two more to go. I guess we'll see. after the first sentence you should have quit commenting on this game. You (and by you I mean pimptaddy, et al) would be going into the playoffs as, at best, the 5th seed (sorry, you're not gonna catch Philly). But Philly is gonna beat you in the last game of the season, giving you a 2-3 record in december. That loss also likely means that the Giants catch you, and get in as they own the tiebreak. You also lose out to GB on the tiebreak. You have NO margin of error. Romo has played well, very well. But december isn't over yet you fool...

NewbieJr 541 Posted December 22, 2009 The Philly game is in January. I think Romo's reputation is that he's a world beater early-on and starts to choke every December. Playoffs are always in January and we all know his record there. So January still falls under the December-collapse blanket.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted December 22, 2009 Where's all the Carson Palmer hasn't done anything in the playoffs or December threads? Oh, he's not as cute as Romo. You haters are just insecure about your own sexuality. It's like the schoolboy who is mean to the cute little girl in class because he secretly likes her. Bengals don't call themselves America's team. Bengal fans don't give other team's fan crap after every loss. Come to think of it, I don't know a single Bengal fan. I have never seen the media come all over themselves when talking aboput Palmer. I have never seen messageboard losers come all opver themselves when talking about Palmer. Romo-lovers try to talk about Romo being an elite qwuarterabck. Elite quarterbackls get better as the season wears on. Romo does the opposite. Pizza flavored Pringles may be the best thing ever created by man. (Aprapo nothing, but I thought I'd share)
