When does a woman become promiscuous?

So in another thread, somebody mentioned survey results from a men's site (I think it was askmen.com but it might've been Maxim). I found one of the survey results a little curious: in the United States, over 40% of men think that a woman is "promiscuous" once she has slept with at least 10 men. That number seemed a little low to me so I thought I'd put the question to the Geek Club.

 

Let's assume for the purpose of this poll that we are talking about an unmarried woman in her mid- to late-twenties. That way we aren't including women who get married very young or spinsters.

i mean is there a start point? if a girl starts focking her bf when she is 17 and has sex with every subsequent boyfriend, it is entirely reasonable to have slept with an average of 1-2 guys a year. So by 27 years old, her number would be 15ish. I would not consider a girl like that to be promiscuous.

 

And that is also assuming she never had a one night stand, drunk night at a frat party, friends with benefits encounter etc etc...

 

to me, a promiscuous girl is less about a number and more about situations. the girl you know who is dating a new guy every few weeks or multiple guys at once, or going home with a new guy from the bar every weekend.

Take a different chick who is 40 years old, and has had sex with 10 people ever since she was a teenager. I would say she is not promiscuous.

Both girls have had sex with the exact same amount of people, yet they are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

This is an impossible question to answer without many more variables given.

I think you are way off on why some folks might want to know the number though. Has nothing to do with insecurity. Maybe someone wants to get an idea about a chicks character, judgement, and maturity.

I agree with you there--I never ask how many and I don't really want to know. It is largely irrelevant to me. But if I DO happen to hear a number, and that number is over 30, I'm kind of thinking the chick is probably a slut. That's the nature of the question: what number do you have to hear before the "slut" checkbox is automatically checked next to that chick's name in your brain?

In all honesty, it's kind of the 'ultimate accomplishment' as far as girls go. To know basically everyone who has tried did it, makes you just another number and takes away the novelty of it. That's why most guys who are uncomfortable knowing their girls' number are bothered by it, in my opinion. Ideally, you'd be the ONLY guy she's met worthy of getting some from her cause that's an ego boost.

I always go by the 3 focks a year rule.

 

0-2 guys a year = normal, not a slut.

3 = a little promiscuous, but still not a full-on slut.

more than 3 = slut.

 

I think even 3 is high. If a girl had 3 partners a year every year, i would say she is a slut. However, on any given years it's not. If you were to go by average, i would say anything over 2.5 is slutty. So using mathematics, it all depends on their age. 10 guys if a chick is 30 is not bad. 10 guys if a chick is 20 is bad.
